Oh the Cleverness of Me (Kiyala)

ALDERAAN

Ashin had tipped her off to Kiyala's location, station, and general condition, but Rave had already known. Rave and the Queen of Alderaan went way, way back. They'd stood together against the most powerful Nightsister in the universe, sparred on the Wheel, had each other's backs more than once. Kiyala had her faults, but she was a firm ally, and Rave was now in a position to reward that.

The Royal Palace of Alderaan was a little bigger and fancier than she liked. Even as a High Councilor, she was constantly busy, constantly reporting back to Annaj or running off to rendezvous with her fellow High Councilors -- she might rule the Fringe, but she spent relatively little time in grand and formal circumstances.

Her cover was as a Miraluka, veil pulled down over her eyes. With a few lies and a few irrelevant truths, she found herself in Kiyala's quarters.

"I brought you something," she said to the Queen, pulling back her hood. She flipped a Ring of Aza'zoth through the air to Kiyala. "It'll let me find you, and it'll let you see in the dark."

It was rather alarming how many people could easily get past her numerous guard, but it reminded her that she would forever have to rely on her own skills in wit to survive. The cover was more than enough for her guard but based of the familiarity between the two Kiyala knew that Rave was stopping by for a visit. Kiyala herself was actually just waking up regardless of how unbecoming that was at this hour; but trying to get Kiyala to care about that would be very hard. Her hair was just being finished as she would not allow herself to be viewed with bed hair by a superior despite whether she was a friend or not.

"You know you probably could have just asked to see me." Kiyala said teasingly to Rave as she offered her a seat while looking at the ring as she caught it with a brief stir of the force. Within a couple of seconds she shut off her lights casually testing the right out which worked with startling clarity, but also it she sighed as soon her nifty force sight would be obsolete.

"How have you been Rave? It's been too long you know?" Kiyala said.

Rave slouched into a chair, hardly the picture of High Councilory dignity. The lights went low, but she wore one of these rings herself, and could see just fine in the dark. "Well, I didn't want just anyone knowing I was here. That, and I wanted to see if I could do it, get past everyone. I'm an alchemist -- stealth isn't in my expertise.

"The Council thinks it's time the Queen of Alderaan got a shot at the teaching that's been unavailable to you while you've been here. We don't want you to fall behind. I don't want you to fall behind, because I know how much you value being a Witch, and I'd like to share a bit of what I know. Witches have to stick together."
