Originally a company which manufactured mining explosive, Bakura-based Ordnance Ltd entered the arms industry after the fall of the First Order as a manufacturer of explosive munitions such as rockets and grenades. It would later go on to design the OL-7 portable missile launcher for the Bakuran military, using its expertise to develop a lightweight, easy-to-use weapon platform that is capable of firing multiple types of munitions, available on the market at a competitive price.
The OL-7 is a single-shot, portable missile launcher fired from the shoulder. It is equipped with a 4x magnification optical sight by factory default, a beloved feature of many of the weapon's operators which enables them to increase the precision of their shots, especially as the weapon does not feature an internal guidance system. Although capable of firing heat-seeking missiles, it is most commonly used with unguided munitions, as the operator has no means by which to guide a missile to its target and missile-mounted heat-seeking systems are only useful against low-flying aerial targets.
The weapon is widely praised for its light weight, low recoil and excellent ergonomics. It is an easy-to-use platform which requires only minimal training in order to operate and was the Bakuran security forces' standard issue missile launcher before the disbandment of the Bakuran military after the planet's annexation by the Eternal Empire. Due to the large number of Bakuran soldiers which defected to the Eclipse Rebellion with their equipment, the OL-7 has become the most commonly-used missile launcher amongst Eclipse forces, its simplicity making maintenance very easy and the availability of ammunition on the civilian market making it easy to acquire ordnance for the weapon, or manufacture Rocket Propelled Grenades with only a handful of tools, if factory-made ammunition can not be acquired in sufficient quantities.
