STANDARD FEATURES
  • Ol' Sadow sports an eclectic mixture of systems harvested from ships both ancient and bleeding-edge - it can generally be assumed that it has everything a comparable Frigate would, though whether or not it actually works is another question entirely.
  • Reinforced boarding tubes are included as a holdover from its piratical past (and potentially future).
ADVANCED SYSTEMS
  • In a stroke of mad genius or perhaps ingenious madness, Ol' Sadow was outfitted with a one-of-a-kind AI housed in a strange device made of half a BRT supercomputer connected to the cybernetically-augmented brain of a long-dead Tiss'shar Sith; the entity within, which insists that it is, in fact, Naga Sadow himself (despite evidence to the contrary) can use instinctive astrogation and controls the ship's advanced systems.
    • "Naga Sadow" is almost always willing to make use of its SLAM drive, unleashing brief bursts of incredible speed at the expense of the ability to make anything but slight adjustments to the ship's course. It can also reroute power from the main weapons to the shields, an act which it finds distasteful... except when its own existence is at risk, in which case it may choose to "turtle down" without permission.
    • Ol' Sadow sports a semi-reliable Stygium Cloaking Device; it may work even while firing, or it may stop working altogether.
    • "Naga Sadow" has access to a custom EW suite featuring, e.g., ECM and semi-reliable remote slicing capabilities.
  • Ol' Sadow is haunted, literally - though they may try to eat your soul at times, its ghostly crewmen will also try to eat any would-be boarders. As an added benefit, they have been known to fulfil the roles they held in life, at times, reducing the need for normal crewmen somewhat. A skilled Nethermancer may be able to able to persuade them to actually do their jobs full-time, negating the need for a crew altogether.
STRENGTHS
  • Arcane Engineering: A panoply of strange systems converge to give the Ol' Sadow a clear advantage over run-of-the-mill ships.
  • Seriously Haunted: Ghostly crewmen and a rather clever AI that insists it's Naga Sadow in the spirit are situationally useful.
  • Extremely Illegal: An eclectic collection of advanced weapons and EW tech makes Ol' Sadow a nasty foe indeed.
WEAKNESSES
  • Arcane Engineering: Ol' Sadow is a hodgepodge of ageing, undocumented engineering; mechanics may be driven mad.
  • Seriously Haunted: Ol' Sadow is literally haunted; this may manifest as bad feelings or Sith Spirits out to eat your soul.
  • Extremely Illegal: Ol' Sadow has no transponder code and its engines don't meet modern environmental standards.
DESCRIPTION
Over the aeons, many a vaunted warship, hulls scarred as a testament to the valour of their crews and the hard-earned victories they achieved, have ended their lives in museums or salvage yards or simply scuttled to prevent capture. Ol' Sadow is... none of the above.

Clearly designed as some manner of flagship or prototype whose visage must have inspired no small amount of dread in ages past, it is unknown how exactly the vessel survived the Great Hyperspace War where so many others didn't - the general assumption is cowardice on behalf of its long-forgotten commander, though "Naga Sadow" will contest this vigorously, insisting that the Republic retreated from it, not the other way around.

As with much of what the halfway-biological AI claims, the historical veracity of this is dubious at best, absent in its entirety at worst.

Whatever the case, the vessel has gone through several millennia worth of owners, including ambitious Sith, rampaging warlords, devious pirates, and briefly a family of especially influential Squib scavengers. It has been shot, scuttled, abandoned, and cleared of all organic life many times over during its extended career yet always seems to manage to return to serviceable condition after a few weeks, months, or centuries.

Restored once more, its future remains an open question but for one undeniable fact - prospective captains better not be afraid of ghosts.
