Knowledge is power. Enyo believes this strongly. And she has no respect for anyone's privacy. The Omniscope Survey Station is the hub of her surveillance network. Myriad sensors and equipment enable it to function as a central hub to monitor communications and starship traffic on an enormous scale. Aside from its own incredible monitoring abilities, it can also receive and collate information from numerous sources such as spy satellites, surveillance drones, probe droids, listening posts and so on. The information is sifted, catalalogued and analysed. It relies heavily on Ghostwave and other devices to prevent its communications from being tampered with or intercepted.
Its massive server farms make it perfect for information warfare, disinformation and deep fakes. State of the art, heavily encrypted hyperspace transceivers, highly advanced slicing countermeasures, Ghostwave Communicators, Crystal Gravfield Traps and military grade shielding are just some of the features that make it a tough nut to crack, both for hostile entities that want to bring its secrets to light or physically assault it.
The Omniscope hosts the Combined Integrated Artificial Construct, a powerful artificial intelligence construct that functions by combining several NeuroDigitalMatrices into a network and hooking them up to a super computer. This significantly augments processing power, critical thinking skills and self-learning capabilities. The machine is connected to a Shard. CIAC can accumulate, collate and analyse a staggering amount of data at a rapid pace.
To this end it can make use of Archangel's surveillance network. Moreover, it can learn from experience, using the data it draws upon to become more sophisticated. In addition, subservient Neuroscryers can be found in the heart of the station. Essentially disembodied brains in a jar, they can scry across distances and predict future events via Force-based precognition. This makes them an apt choice for this kind of large-scale, uninspired observation.
Inside the Omniscope, one finds data centres kilometres long, maintained by an army of tech drones. Then, endless banks of processors to analyse, catalogue and highlight the obtained information. Tech drones, analysis droids and HRDs are at work around the clock. There are big maintenance and storage areas for drones, guards and a few very small visitor locations. As the crew are droids, certain things have been removed or significantly scaled down for more effective use of the station's vast space. The station does have crew quarters, a mess hall, infirmary and other necessities for organics for when Enyo's posse might come to visit, but these areas are small since they are not expected to see widespread use or accommodate a large number of people. Enyo does not like wasting space on organic 'frivolities', but if there is one thing the Omniscope does not lack, it is space.
The Omniscope features no processing device or similar equipment to repurpose flesh and blood beings into superior machines. Its shadowy master has a myriad of mobile and stationary factories to fulfil that purpose. This place is for intelligence gathering, analysis and information warfare, not recycling or upgrading organic specimen. It does, however, benefit from innovations made to the process of taking an organic and rendering them down into machine form or digitalising their mind.
One such innovation is the aforementioned CIAC, the other is the Unity Processing Matrix, which fuses several such spirits into a single processor for added power and essentially acts as an advanced droid brain. The Omniscope is very well-guarded. Internal security measures include decompression traps, pop-up turrets, biometric security, ray shield traps, heavy Tunqstoid blast doors, coma gas dispensers and a large on-board garrison.
When originally conceiving the plans it was going to be 400x80x120km due to adding a zero to the figures by mistake, but Enyo stepped in and corrected it. Some of her siblings and many other members of the posse were upset, they wanted a 400km long station it would take ages to cross. Enyo let out a little growl and told them to go walk for 400km and see if they were still interested after that.
