On a clear day I can see tomorrow (completed)

Serena had approached the Jedi Academy with a bit of awe. The buildings were amazing but what had captured her attention was the library, the archives. Rows and Rows of information waiting to be digested waiting for someone to come along and open them.

This was like being back in school at the university it had that air about it. After her talk with Seydon she understood more about the galaxy having it broadened by him had helped her. Remain true to herself skills of the mind and ones that would help her keep a focus. Serena already knew she would not be extremely accomplished with a light saber but there were skills that if she practiced and developed she could help in other ways.

She requested an instructor for the skill of Far sight. Today she would meet that teacher here on the grounds of the Academy. The Academy connecting Jedi with other Jedi for skills they wished to develop, and knowledge that they quested for.

With the aid of the Academy students from all areas of the galaxy would receive the help they needed. This was one of the best things she's seen come to fruition through the works of the Jedi. Fantastic. Though in this day she was to assist a young woman who went by the name of [member="Serena Bouie"] . She had heard of her before, amongst the Silver Jedi. A promising student.

She approached the young woman as she saw her awaiting her arrival. "Padawan Bouie? Geetings, Shall we begin your training?" she said very softly, but it was her exotic accent that brought the flavor to her speech.

Serena had been too engrossed by her surroundings to sense the approach of Master [member="Sochi Ru"] but when her voice sounded Serena turned laying her eyes upon the female togruta. What exotic markings she possessed and her deep dark eyes like pools of liquid onyx, Serena smiled.

Yes Master I am” The Jedi Master’s very presence changed the feel of all things around them.

Serena had a single thought she did not know if it was hers, or Master Ru she has heard about me. A wave of concern rippled around them Serena pulled the emotion back hiding it behind the wall of resistance that she and Connor had been working on.

She bit her lip trying to dismiss any anxiety that was waiting to engulf her.

She motioned for the young woman to follow behind her. They needed a quiet place where she could truly immerse herself in the Force without a break in concentration. Thats why Ru led her to one of many gardens that had been constructed on the Academy grounds. While cliche as it may have been, Gardens such as those who remain in the company of Jedi are strong in the Living Force.

it didn't take them long for their scenery to change from marble to flora. "Lets sit..." she said, taking her place down on the grass below.

She looked at her student, "Farsight...is an mental ability that allows one to monitor events happening in other places, be it past, present, or the future...but you have to mindful that time is always changing..."

[member="Sochi Ru"]
Serena nodded and followed unconcerned now for the moment if Master Ru had heard anything bad, well at least she was trying to be unconcerned about it. When she said let's sit Serena sat down cross legged on the grass. she loved the outside this always made her feel so much more connected to everything. The very life of everything around her touched her and made her feel more in control.

"Be mindful because time is fluid and actions taken can change the outcome of what was seen" Serena had given this much thought to see ahead and see one thing could not possible remain the same if someone chooses a different action. Ripples in time, like ripples in the water. "is that right?"

Time was suppose to be relative, if space and time are absolute then the speed of light must be relative, depending upon the speed of the observer. The speed of light is absolute and does not depend upon the observer, therefore either space or time must be relative.

"Yes, thats correct. Thats why one can never truly place their faith in a vision of the future...it can be any variation of one specific event. Thats why analyzing is difficult in itself."

The togruta master looked about the young woman. "I can tell your the intuitive type...this shouldn't be difficult for you to grasp its the honing thats the tiring task."

She closed her eyes, and reached out with her hands. They sat in a manner that welconed Serenas. She hoped her student would place her hands upon the ones in front of her.

Once contact was made, Ru would open her eyes and speak. "Well divide this into two sections of learning. Both are about analyzing the strands of the Force sent to you. Everyone has a past event that was either much enjoyable or very terrible. Try to reach into the depths of your mind and relive a past moment of yours. My hands are here to anchor you in the event you can't determine what's real. Now, don't just fish for a memory your fond of...allow the Force to do that for you...there's going to be a reason why you've been brought back to that specific place...and thats what you must figure out."

With that, she closed her eyes and began to meditate along with Serena.

[member="Serena Bouie"]

Serena was calm and able to listen, her multitasking ways were itching to get out but Master Ru really wanted her to concentrate and even though she felt she could concentrate and push the some of the details from the tablets, she wanted to do exactly as Master Ru wanted.

Serena exhaled and then placed her hands gently into Master Ru's. She closed her eyes and let her mind drift as much as her neurosis would let her. A deep breath where she felt the air drawing into her lungs.

A memory she tried to let the force take them to whatever memory was there, she had many. A number of the first time when such and such happened. But now they weren't guided there they were guided to the day her father died.

Serena knew this place too well, she even whimpered her recognition. She hated this day everything changed that day.

My father is dead

It was like living hell to see this, to be at this point again.

[member="Sochi Ru"]

"Remember...there's a reason Serena. There's a reason you've been brought back to this point." her words came softly, but they held the warmth she wanted her student to feel. Analyzing the past and future can lead a Jedi to encounter emotions they may not want to see at that point in time.

"I'm here to anchor you...don't worry. These emotions are necessary as long as they are relevant. Feel them...conquer them." what she didn't want her to do was to freeze up in fear...

[member="Serena Bouie"]

It was unexpected his death. Serena made a face she was walking through the rooms the path was leading her to another the THE room. The room that played that soft sad music that even elevators didn't play.

She whimpered louder her eyes were turning red, tears welled up as she passed beneath the arch that lead to the room where her father lay in a box. A wooden box that would hold what was his body until the moment it returned to the dust that they believed it came from. Why a box? It wasn't a gift given it was. She sighed it was the ripping of one's soul to lose a parent.

Serena stood at the foot of the box looking at the face that was and wasn't her father. I was supposed to call him. I had been putting it off for a week, thinking I had time. Thinking what I was doing was more important But his face no matter how long she looked at it, it didn't look like him.

She exhaled even in this state shook her head and the words she spoke that day came back

"It doesn't look like Dad, maybe it's not him"

"I had a good reason"

"Well he could have called me"

Her mother's words bit into her at that moment, from across the room a woman about Serena's height came in staring at Serena as if it were that very day.

"If you had cared enough about his feelings and weren't so selfish you would have called" Serena had burst into tears.

Guilt.

She felt guilt.

She was right Master Ru all I had to do was sit down one night for ten minutes and call. I made more excuses and didn't.

Was there forgiveness for her for this? Time was so important it didn't matter how it flowed what mattered more and more was how they lived the life, how they treated one another. Serena's left hand came up and covered her mouth.

Her brothers had entered the room staring at her, accusations unsaid but their eyes, their eyes said it all.

My family is disappointed with me. May even hate me Tears slid down her cheeks anytime she thought about this time she cried. This singular moment was the most painful of her life.

Serena stood there living in that moment letting it crash down around her and fill her with shame, and guilt. If she weren't a Jedi she might have been a better daughter. How did she move forward harbouring that? She had though she had gone back to the temple. So what was she missing that gave her the courage and removed the emotional turmoil she felt that made it ok to return?

"This needed to happen....the Force showed you what you've been blinding yourself to this entire time. Thus is the power of farsight...sometimes the things you'll see when you examine things will test your will." she gripped her hands tighter for only a time, and she lifted them in the air on inches from where they were originally.

"You've completed the first test...the past is much easier to examine than the future, as we've said earlier, time is always in motion. The future you've yet to experience so its subject to change from the decisions you make from this point forward."

She inhaled deeply, the Living Force surges quietly around them, perhaps Ru was just much more sensitive to it.

"I want you to now peer into your future, reach out with the vast expanse of your mind and touch the strands of the Force as the connect us to the future. Think of what you want to see, and allow the Force itself to bring your mind to that place..."

This was the second part of the test, the girls mental capabilities weren't in question....it was what she might see that could cause her sanity to crack if she can't handle it, or boost the girls confidence.

Serena opened her eyes and looked over at Master Ru breathing easier remembering it was the past it was done only consequences remained, but it was done. She took a deep breath and relaxed. She listened intently to the words the future.

The unknown.

She nodded and closed her eyes. Focus. Reaching out for the force came easier and easier with each time that she did it. It was a welcoming friend as it seemed to wrap her up inside of it. She thought about the future searching along the strands those little white lights of connection running forward and backwards, and pool now in the present. She looked at the thinnest of strands running away from her.

Thin because it was not firm now what would happen only as things became more set would the strands strengthen. She wasn't sure for a moment what if what she saw was pain for someone she knew, what if.

She shook her head and retreated, "Master, I know it's not set" She took another breath, "But what if no matter what fate, destiny whichever word you want to use decides no matter what actions, that what the future holds must occur. Like..say you see the death of a senator by drowning, so we and he's saved from drowning, only to turn around and be killed by assissin, you know. the event is meant to happen..do we just let it, or do we stop every attempt?"

"A brilliant question...and its because of situations like that, that the Unifying Force in general isn't popular. Most times, farsight will only show you events that can be preventable in one way or another, but there are times when things such as fate comes in and takes control. Somethings...are just meant to happen...and thats something we must accept as Jedi. We can't protect everyone. Sometimes we just have to let things fall where they may..." she said lowering her heads and taking a deep breath.

"Come now, you must try...you have passed the first test by facing your past...now you must glimpse your future." Bouie showed much promise in this area...but was she ready for what she may see...

The future. She had often wondered about the future and what it would be like. Would she still be a Jedi, would she find someone to share her life much like her parents did. So many unanswered questions. Now to use the force and think about the future.

She looked over at Master Ru, "Am I suppose to focus on something I want to know about the future, or just the future itself I'm, unsure of how to do it" She half smiled thinking was it like looking into the crystal ball that the fortune tells often used, waving their hands and giving them the eye. Maybe. It could be like looking into dirty water and waiting for it to clear to show you one thing, that might help you with the future.

Would it be a single image, or multiple images, or a feeling with an image. someone she had better luck focusing on the past than looking ahead to the future was it because it was unknown and required greater belief, and reliance on the force.

She nodded, "Yes Focus on something you want to know. For instance try and envision what your going to be doing after this training session, minutes from now." she said watching the smirk of the young woman. Perhaps it was better for her to envsion things like that, just minutes or hours from now. Days, and years could strain the mind, and without being properly prepared for what you want to see things could definitely go left.

"Remember this is different from looking to the past, you had already experienced what you saw in the past, this is the future. What you may see could be something to happen or something that could possibly happen with the right actions. It'll be much more complicated. Give it a try."

[member="Serena Bouie"]

Serena did not fear the future as they had said it was ever in fluctuation. She exhaled softly clearing her mind on everything except her mother. Having lost her father it was natural to want to know about her mother.

Serena could see the curve of her mother's face, hear the sound of her voice, and feel her eyes on her.

Everything seemed very hazy and unclear as she kept thinking on her mother just on her mother. Serena tried to breathe.

She stopped opened her eyes she looked at her Master smiled took another breath and closed her eyes.

Calm. Cool.

Don't worry about getting it right Serena kept reminding herself. She tried again clear her mind, focus. Again nothing but the insides of her eye lids.

Serena looked up, "Master is it possible that a subject could be so emotionally charged that you cannot see that future?" Maybe it was because she focused on her mother, maybe she needed something else, like...think on the order itself...

She waited for her master to speak.

[member="Sochi Ru"]

"Some subjects may carry heavy emotional baggage, or have an emotional tie to you, and that can very well have an effect on the outcome that you see. Though such things should have much effect on your ability to actually visualize something."

In her time, she hadn't encountered anything like that. There were only few people she ever had emotional ties to, but they were always kept at bay. Because of her Jedi background she didn't allow such things. It was possible that the partial walls she put up kept things in place.

"Perhaps you should try another, someone who isn't as close to you, but close enough. The strong ties you feel to this person probably clouds your inner eyes."

Serena nodded so she would stay away from family and just concentrate on the future looking ahead. Closing her eyes once again she calmed herself, let the force wash over her feel the way that it flowed around her. Feel how it connected her to all things around her, the present, the past, she took a deep breath and the future. She could begin to feel the tension in her arms giving away her head slowly dropped till her chin rested on her chest.

The future as it ebbed. The future that turned one way and then another. She could see someone. Someone unfamiliar to her and with brilliant blue eyes. He smiled at her offered her help.

Don't worry Wren he spoke softly to her I'll help you. Just then she saw a darkened room and felt she wasn't alone. It was then she turned and looked back, I trust you Coren.

Serena felt the vision fading away she opened her eyes and looked at Master [member="Sochi Ru"] , "That was the strangest feeling first not only could I not feel my own body, I saw someone I didn't know and they were helping me in dark place. So odd Master Ru. Is that how it is supposed to feel, so detached?" Who was this Coren person and just how far into the future had she looked, and what were they doing together.

[member="Coren Starchaser"]

The togruta watched the Jedi Knight fade back into the Force. This time around however, she looked more confident. What Ru worried consistenly was the fact that she may see something that was dnangerous to her psyche. Sometimes, without intent, thr Force shows us things...are minds won't be able to retreat from. It was just the way things worked with the Unified Force.

She noticed the small movements in Serena' body, thats how she knew the young woman was deeply connected. It was almost as she fell into a deep sleep. When her head began to tilt, even the Master became cautious. She jumped slightly thinking she would fall over, and that wouldn't help her much when she awoke.

When the Jedi Knight opened her eyes, ahe would see the Togruta staring with a concern in her onyx eyes. "Detached would be the word. You wouldn't have control in your vision, your a guest into your own mind. Though, over time you will gain the ability to see certain things you want by focusing on them. However, this person, this dark room...they'll be encountered sooner than you realize. It'll most likely happen when your no longer thinking about...remain vigilant Serena." she said with a cryptic statement.

"You've successully learned Farsight...your a natural and you came through without any mental scars. You will defininetly surpass any feats I were able to accomplish. Congratulations, keep training and honing your ability. You have a key to the Unified Force now."
