On learning the Force by oneself.

Okay, I know some people are going to rage on this, but Asajj Ventress, when Ky Nerec was killed, taught herself Jar'Kai and using the Force by herself. I was thinking that, now that my character has gone rogue and joined a privateer crew, he can land on a planet where an ancient force-using ghost would be, and then that ghost would complete his training, much like Obi-Wan helped on Dagobah.

Thoughts?

You could RP that, but you wouldn't be able to promote yourself. You'd pretty much only be able to promote by capping or specifically asking an RPJ or Admin to examine your work and see if you're ready. If you want a natural, and likely quicker path to promotion you'd need a master, but it wouldn't have to be one aligned with a faction.

So short story yes, you can do it, but it would be very difficult to reach knight while doing so.

FORCE USER RANK PROMOTION

1. Apprentice To Knight

  • When an Apprentice's Master feels the Apprentice is ready for promotion to Knight, he/she submits the Apprentice's name for promotion to his/her Faction Administrator for approval.

  • If the Apprentice does not belong to a Faction, the Apprentice's Master will submit the Apprentice's name to a Role-play Judge for approval.

  • If approved by the Faction Administrator/Role-Play Judge, the Apprentice's name is submitted to a Board Administrator for Rank Promotion.

*In the case that no Force User Master is available, any Faction Administrator/Role-play Judge may represent the Apprentice as his/her Out of Character Master for promotion purposes.
