On Vacation [Nessarose deWinter]

Aboard the Seren Heritage

Thurion was sat going through the holonet for any news regarding the political struggles the Republic was currently facing, with the divide between the Jedi Order and the Senate becoming more and more obvious. To him it seemed like the Republic could not maintain their massive size and influence for long; without a clear enemy to fight, the Reps had little to rally behind, and with the Sith Empire gone - the sworn enemy of the Republic - it seemed like the populace were having trouble choosing side in the Jedi/Senate debate. He also took the time to check his mailbox.

"Congratulations, you have been selected from billions of people across the galaxy to receive a full weekend at the Grand Admiral - one of the most exclusive luxury yachts in existence! You may bring one friend or loved one to share the experience of the full package, with food and lodgings already paid for. The yacht drops anchor at Fondor Space Station regularly every week, so you get to choose the weekend most suitable to your calendar! Just drop this code to the any of the staff overseeing the station departures for your tickets. Please note that this is a time-limited offer which expires in a full Galactic Standard Year. Congratulations once again, and we hope to see you soon! Have a nice day!"

Mumbling the message to himself, Thurion looked over to his little girl by the name of Nina. She was sat eating by the table opposite of himself, well unaware of what he had just read aloud because of her inability to understand the Basic tongue. Instead she kept enjoying her meal, despite the tiny portion on her plate only a 4-year-old would find satisfactory. Her innocent face never failed to melt the knight's heart, and once she was done eating and was about to finish off with a glass of blue milk, he mimicked her movements and chugged down a glass of his own. They even finished at the same time, which made both of them smile at eachother. Reaching across the table, Thurion gently caressed her tiny hand with two fingers while telepathically informing her of the situation - the only way for her to understand him, unless he learnt to speak fluid Umbarese.

"Nina, how would you like us to go on a vacation?"

Aboard the Grand Admiral

The two arrived on the luxury yacht called the Grand Admiral, and the initial shock over how peaceful and quiet the vessel was compared to any they'd stayed on prior was soon overcome by the sweet scents of food none of them had ever tasted nor seen before. With any food expenditures covered by their prize, the two made their way to the nearest restaurant and took a seat by their designated table. The dishes available were so far completely unheard of to both of them, yet they finally managed to order what they thought looked tasty. Suffice to say, neither of them were used to this life of luxury, although as of yet they couldn't complain.

The sounds of music playing eched through out the entire ship. Weekend had arrived, and at last, boarding day had arrived with it. Nessarose had bounced happily from the spaceport to the ship, dragging along four handmaidens that were trying to grasp what the fuss was all about. But she quickly shushed them, dressed them up as normal civillians, and sent them out to mingle among the crowd.

Her first hour had been spent eating. Just eating. With the speed of her eating (and digesting), she had managed to clear most of the buffets and stands within the first half an hour, drawing a round of laughter from onlookers who couldn't quite grasp why she wasn't vomiting her heart out and why her soft stomach did not bulge out of its place.

But she ignored them, her huge smiles and bubbly chatter winning over the hearts of the staff present one by one. When the music had started though... Nessarose knew no limits. She jumped to the center of the entrance hall, dancing her bubbly black heart away.

Finished with their fine meal, Thurion and Nina wandered hand-in-hand towards the festivities taking form through the music playing ever louder as they came closer to it. Once at the heart of it, Nina had to stop to tie her little shoe. Turning around to help her do so, he made sure to ask her whether she felt comfortable with all this, still. She replied through a soft nod, followed by a slight smile.

When Thurion got back up and spun around to continue their walk, along came a woman bumping into him. She seemed to be caught up in the festive mood everyone else shared with her, what with her wild yet graceful dancing across the open space. He wasn't even sure about it being an actual dance floor, but he couldn't help but smile with the woman as their eyes met. Her jovial nature was contagious, it seemed.

There were so many people she bumped into as she danced wildly. Some of them joined in, unable to resist the charm of the seemingly innocent teenager. A few murmured, but she paid them no heed; this was a place for celebration, and her appetite was growing with every step she took.

Yet a single bump caused her to pause in her dance, the green of her eyes flashing as auras of Light and Darkness collided, and she sucked the air in tightly, her mind quickly rushing to correct all that was wrong. More interesting than the aura was the child, the sweet child.

Nessarose's pause became a full stop as memories flashed by her mind. Memories of blood and pain, of laboratories and test tubes, memories of twins and happiness. For but a heart beat she seemed as though she would cry.

Yet just as quickly as it had gone, the smile returned as she held her hand out to the child, ignoring the man with her for the moment, her feet already beginning their dance, inviting the little one in.
