Onan is of Alderaani bloodline, notably of DeVoe lineage.
On Alderaan and of it's circles, he is known as the former head of House DeVoe, as Duke Onan DeVoe.
Onan stepped down from Head of the DeVoe House as family tradition dictates. His son, Duke Kyle DeVoe became Head of House DeVoe on Alderaan.
This DeVoe tradition of the head of House stepping down dates back 8 centuries, following the destruction of the DeVoe's ancestral Alderaan, under Palpatine's reign.
Onan as Duke, has lead House DeVoe like his father before him and as the DeVoe lineage has for Millenniums before the destruction of their ancestral Alderaan, and after re-establishing the House on new Alderaan, held true to their legion to Royal House Organa.
Upon Onan stepping down on Alderaan as head of House DeVoe, his son, Duke Kyle DeVoe took his seat and once more in a traditional ceremony before the Royal House of Organa, swore legion to Royal House Organa.
Upon Onan's passing on Alderaan (not yet played out) he will in fact take over the Highland and Midlands of Antroth and Beufort, as his father and ancestors traditionally have. His passing will be faked when both his grandaughters ( @Marina DeVoe and Katie DeVoe) and his son's wife (Sansa DeVoe) will be away from Alderaan.
The clone cadaver of Onana, like that facsimile of his father and ancestors who purportedly passed whist on Alderaan, will be ceremonially cremated.
Onan in reality will rule over the Zarkan kingdoms on Lohr till that too passes on to Kyle his son and apprentice.
Onan were trained in the arts of the Dragon Fire under the Order of Shor by his grandfather and father. He in turn has trained his son Duke Kyle Devoe and his grandson Jerrid Syn in the use of Dragon fire. As thus, this tradition passes on from male heir to male heir. No female DeVoe has ever discovered the true secret of the DeVoe bloodline or of the kingdoms of Lohr. No female DeVoe has ever set foot upon Lohr or know of its existence.
History of the DeVoes on Lohr:
A DeVoe ancestor by the name of Feil, son of Duke Bright DeVoe was off world when the Galactic Empire set example of Alderaan and blew the system apart.
Feil, the only DeVoe family survivor found his self wanted by the very same Empire that destroyed his world, his life, his family. He went on the run and attempted to join the then Rebellion, to fight the Empire and avenge his family, his people, his Alderaan.
Feil succeeded in joining the rebellion and became a proficient pilot ace, incurring much damage to Imperial convoys and supply lines.
In one campaign, he and his squadron found themselves ambushed and as a result, his squadron perished. With his ship damaged and with no other option but to blindly jump before an array of missiles homed in, he punched it.
It were a blind jump and with his fighter damaged, he found his self unable to disengage his hyper-drive. For 8 days his ship zipped through the galaxy to a heading unknown. It weren't till his fuel reserves were depleted that his ship came out of hyperspace.
There, Feil found his self adrift in the deep core. He drifted for weeks with no rations left but water recycled. His 3 days ship's rations had been used up during the 8 day blind jump. Things seemed bleak for Feil as he drifted aimlessly within the very deep core. Territories and sectors still unexplored and unknown, then and to this day still.
After 17 days adrift, his ship incurred a gravitational pull as the system he were drifting through had it's main planet come about in it's orbit to intersect his drift. Feil's craft got pulled in and soon enough found himself skirting the planet's atmosphere.
Weak, tired and with little hope and motivation left, Feil managed to keep his craft at an entry angle that enabled him to survive a dead drop entry. Once his crafts mini foils grabbed atmosphere he managed to get a controlled free fall glide and eventually soft crash his fighter in a wooded terrain, managing to miss the eldest and mightiest trees. There he remained half broken and starving for nearly a day before he were found.
And found himself he did on a Medieval world of Lohr.
Feil were found unconscious by Lord Zarkan's scout party when word of sightings of a fallen object from the sky reached his castle. Dias Zarkan, a powerful and influential Lord of the Highlands took Feil and had his surgeons tend to him. In no time, Feil recovered enough to meet Lord Zarkan and explain his purpose and how he came to be on Lohr.
Feil unfurled his heart and the Lord Zarkan felt it were true. Unbeknownst to Feil, Lord Zarkan already knew of his loss and knew even more of the blood which coursed through Feil. Feil were of Lord Zarkan's bloodline which had been severed many Milleania past. It had broken away to become the DeVoe bloodline. And that bloodline had settled on Alderaan. The very same Alderaan that had perished months earlier under the reign of a serpent sith, Palpatine.
Lord Zarkan did not divulge that their bloodlines were one and the same. Instead, he welcomed Feil into his own House. Welcomed Feil into his Reich and in the months that followed bestowed him Duke of Beufort a providence in the Mid-lands.
Feil whom had come to know Lohr, came to love Lohr as he once loved Alderaan. And Lord Zarkan observed with a knowing eye that all of what Feil felt in his heart were true for Lohr, despite his blackened heart upon which bore the scarred hatred and anger for the loss of his beloved Alderaan. This love hate duality were what lord Zarkan needed to one day test Feil and see if his blood coursed through his veins in the same manner as it did in his.
Feil proved worthy and Lord zarkan then went on to open his eyes to reveal all that he and Feil were. Their bloodlines were the same and their hearts the same. And Feil did open his eyes, his heart and mind to Lord Zarkan.
So it were that Lord Zarkan took Feil as his apprentice, opening his mind to what Feil had once conceived such knowledge as Sith. But it were more than Sith that Lord Zarkan opened his mind and eyes to. It were the heart of Dragon Fire which he were passing on to Feil, the wielding of the force.
And Feil embraced it and grew from it as his ancestors had once done before they severed the bloodline to become DeVoe.
But Lord Zarkan did not ask for Feil to abolish the deVoe bloodline, as it were of the same make. Instead, he offered Feil two kingdoms...Lohr and that which Feil would build outside of Lohr. As thus it were that the DeVoe bloodline once more emerged out of the ashes of Alderaan and keep House on two worlds..Lohr and one which Feil and his heirs would build in the known galaxy.
Centuries later, a new world were terra-formed and it came to be known as Alderaan. It were when House DeVoe under Seth DeVoe (the great grandson of Feil) returned to settle upon Mt Cetril in the Northern Hemisphere of this new Alderaan and resume their once ancestral title of Duke... swearing legion once more to the Royal House of Organa outside of Lohr.
As long as the DeVoes held the Aiden providence on Aldreaan, the DeVoe namesake is loyal to House Organa.
On Lohr, the DeVoes are in league with House Zarkan and take up the sir name of House Zarkan.
