~Intro
Okay okay. I get it. I come back, thread, leave for months, and then come back. I know I say I'll stay and then I end up leaving. I apologize, especially to those I plan stories with and I end up not following it through.
Now I'll keep it short and sweet. I do love this site, been here since 2012 (maybe 2013, can't remember when exactly), I have grown up as a writer thanks to this community, and I love the stories and characters, as well as the many writers behind them, that the site presents. However my real life career is quickly taking over my life and I find it hard for me to take time out of my busy schedule to post here.
That is why I have actually made my final decision as to finally, after so long of bringing it up and discussing it and planning it, I am leaving the site. Permanently this time, I promise. That is why I am posting this. I refuse to simply leave the site and my character behind without a proper ending. As a writer I can't leave him and his story. I know most, and I say most because it isn't true for all, writers agree when I say that I really am attached to my character.
Any story, no matter what, has the characters taking on a piece of my personality and who I am. Darren is, truly, me. If I existed in the Star Wars universe, Darren is who I would be. And as such I refuse, as I stated above, to leave him behind without finishing his story.
And I know I've said it before, but I mean it when I say I am going to kill him off in one final story arc that will span two, maybe three, threads. This is just my way of tying up any and all loose ends he has with any other major characters and a way for me to properly leave the site. Don't get me wrong, I will occasionally return to post in the discussion board to see how everyone is and everything. However my days of writing and RPing are over. For good, I promise.
Thread One (Closed//Invite Only)
So for this to work out I need help, from anyone willing to provide it. Onyx is essentially, at this point, ready to die. After years of fighting and never stopping he has reached the point of giving up and allowing anyone to kill him.
That's all fine and dandy, but he needs to tie up some ends and odds first. So that is where the first thread will come in. Onyx invites his longest and closest friends, or past friends, to a small party at his small estate on Coruscant. The thread is really just a IC social gathering that allows Onyx to say his goodbyes, discuss regrets, and thank those who he has known throughout his life. This will be a closed thread and I'll send PM's to those I feel should attend.
Thread Two (Open to all)
Why do I have this marked as "Public" then? Well that is where the second thread comes in, his final thread, my final thread. Onyx gets all the credits has accumulated over the years and puts it into a new account, one that will be handed over to whoever can kill him. Yep, he puts out a bounty on himself, attracting anyone who wants both the credits and the honor of slaying a infamous, both IC and OOC, character. This will be open to anyone and everyone.
Closing
Again, I do this with a heavy heart. I let a lot of people down over the course of the last year, namely the podcast I built and then abandoned. I honestly wish I could commit but it is hard with my real life constantly moving forward at this fast pace. So please, forgive me one last time and allow me to finish my journey here without any trouble.
