Objective: #1 and #2

Snow hurled through the main spaceport of the Imperial capital and Vereshin ran dearly off the landing ramp of his shuttle with a stumble in his stride. Civilians of the Empire crowded the bustling port and buskers chimed away on every corner baring holly and stems of red and green. [member="Aurelius Morday"] had given his yearly Bah Humbug to the holiday season and counted lithium pills in his luxury speeder. Holo-screens and lights crackled and cut out across the capital with news reporters baring concurrent words.

"...Blackouts across the capital..." Gripping the neatly wrapped present in his arms, Vereshin scurried through the hall of the spaceport and excused himself while sliding past citizens. The Twi'lek reporter on the massive holo-screen read the Life Day Eve news and every few seconds, the screen distorted and cut midway through her words. "...Discrepancies in time...Ghost sightings..." The words caught Vereshin's attention he stopped abruptly next to a vending machine to listen to the report. "...Disturbance in the Force... All civilians must stay indoors." The signal continued to crackle and skip between shots. He decided there was no pointing attempting to receive information from the television.

Vereshin paused and slid a hand into his coat, receiving his glistening pocket watch. He was not due to meet [member="Pom Stych Tivé"] for hours and had a good amount of time to investigate the anomaly taking hold of Life Day Eve on Bastion. As citizens rushed passed him, he looked closely at the face of his watch. For less than a second, he felt the sensation of losing complete consciousness, only to recover as if no time had passed. Darkness gave away to light and he was back where he was before. He looked at the watch. Ten minutes had passed.

Screams began to sound around him as people realized what had just happened. Vereshin stood agasp, his mouth slightly parted. With the present still under his arm, he slid the watch away and darted out of the spaceport. Ambulances and police speeders zoomed across the city square and flames erupted from crashed vehicles. On the other end of the street, a transparent figure glared down at him, a ribbon tied around a crook in his hand. In a blink of the eye, the figure dissipated into air. The Sith Sorcerer did not place much importance on Life Day beyond an occasion he could spend with his beloved. The occurrence of an esoteric sort suddenly piqued his interest.

With a gasp, he turned away and motioned across the street to his motel He met the receptionist and requested for her to take Pom's gift to his room. Life Day Eve had been postponed for Vereshin as he looked around for anyone who might assist him in solving the holiday crisis. Vi paused by the motel door. He was in dire need of a cigarette.

Objective: #1 & #2

Life day.

There was very little wrong with life day. It was the time of the year that even the Sith were allowed to relax and enjoy themselves. The gentle snowfall outside made Bastion look more like a winter wonderland than the homeworld of The Sith Empire. The small life day tree sat in the corner of Jyn's tiny apartment, bringing at least some festive cheer to the place. The little chair that usually took the place of the tree had been shoved into the corner of the room, collecting dust and other creatures. It wasn't the nicest apartment but it did the job, it was knowingly a place to sleep and meditate on the Dark Side of the force, the Sith teachings.

The holonews was hardly quiet on the otherwise quiet Life Day Eve. Numerous blackouts were being reported across the capitol, the capitol of The Sith Empire. No-one currently had any idea what was causing the blackouts. Jyn was huddled, trying to study the news and figure out exactly what was going on. His own power was fluxuating, it would come and go at random. It made investigating pretty difficult although it admitidly could of been worse. He was lucky he had power full stop, he was lucky he had power unlike thousands of people across the capitol who didn't have that luxury. They didn't have power on Life Day Eve!

Jyn rose from the corner. He gripped a jacket from a hook as he stepped out into the snow. He almost enjoyed the satisfying crunch of cold white snow below his feet. It wasn't a long walk down the road towards the breaker, although he would of preferred it if his Sith mentor, his Sith master [member="Ao'Xian"] was present. He was short, she was a dragon. If she was present, he would ride her down the road to avoid the cold knees that he knew he would otherwise suffer from. He felt the dampness creeping around his ankles and he wasn't impressed. He knew it was duty to help the people of Bastion but did it have to snow while he did so?

He reached the breaker after what felt like a treck down the road. The snow was heavy and he was short, sinking into the snow more than moving. He crouched down and forced the door on the breaker open. He began to scan the circits within, knowing that while electronics was not his speciallity he would probably be able to identify any serious issue. He looked up slowly as people began sprinting towards him. He stepped back from the breaker, reaching for anything near him that could be used as a weapon. People continued to run towards him, many in a full sprint. Jyn couldn't see what they were running from.

Then it all went cold. He felt weightless for a brief second before he regained his balance. He looked towards his watch and noticed the time difference. It was weird, he wasn't sure how five minutes had passed in a second. Someone, a little girl by the pitch of her voice, screamed and Jyn turned. A transparent figure floated a few metres from the ground, a rope around it's neck. It remained floating as Jyn slowly and very carefully moved towards it before it vanished with a very quiet pop. It left nothing, not even a hint to what it was or what it was doing or even who it was, even knowing who would be useful to Jyn.

Then someone else screamed.

He needed a vodka and some help on this one.
