One More Round Together [Shmi]

Planet Name Unknown
Slaver Run

With [member="Shmi Labooda"] intending to wrap up the majority of her Jedi work, the chances of the two of them going on mission together again were running slim. So it was a lucky break that for the first time, in one of her last missions the two ended up assigned together. Josh couldn't remember what the planet was called, and with how people liked to flaunt their territory it was probably best he didn't bother trying to figure out what it was called.

Regardless, he and Shmi had been dropped off at the coordinates with the intention of infiltrating a slaver base, freeing the slaves, and taking the slavers down. Standard fare, shouldn't be an issue, right? Regardless, it'd gone off without a hitch so far, and the two had gotten into the base...

Problem was, it was more heavily guarded then they'd thought. A peek at security cameras had showed that getting to the slaves was going to be more trouble then they had bargained for.

We find our happy couple in the base as Josh peeks down the corner, noting the guard presence and taking a breath as he looks toward Shmi, shrugging his shoulders as he looked around, before noting that the air vents grate was loose. "Huh, neat" The Jedi Master remarked nonchalantly as he would hold out a hand, the screws coming off the grate and the grate being gently lifted down with the Force so as not to make noise.

With that, he would look toward Shmi and motion toward the vent above them, smirking faintly. "After you" He spoke quietly.

She was in the midst of pulling her hair up before she returned the glance over to Josh. She noted his shrug, well they had made it thus far and there was far to many people for them to fight there way through and ensure the survival of everyone else they were supposed to save. Well they could...but that was more work. She bit down on her lip while he looked away.

She then peeked around the corner and saw a rather heavy patrol. She tucked her lips and sighed before ducking back around the corner. When she came back she turned to Josh, parting her lips to say something before she noticed he had taken out one of the vents from above.

He looked at her and then there was the smirk...she sighed and tilted her head slightly while forming a smirk. "Of course..." she said while glaring at him playfully.

Shaking her head she walked up to him, "Just...behave yourself" she said before placing her hands on his shoulders attempting to boost herself up.

"When have I not?" He would tease, a small smirk crossing his lips in turn as he would give Shmi a boost and help her into the vents. With his height, getting in there after her wasn't all that hard, and he would use the Force to quickly put on the grate behind them in case anyone came along. He didn't put any screws back in though... Even a bit of contact would make it fall off again. But it would be good if they needed to escape. Bad if anyone touched it that wasn't them. But as he started crawling through the vents, silently cursing himself for letting a man his size crawl through such a tight space, there was something he needed to address. He'd nearly bumped into Shmi from behind when he started moving, as he was going too fast originally, but had slowed down when almost met face-first with something very familiar that up close as it was almost caused his jaw to drop. He kept his control, of course, but the joke to come was inevitable.

"You know, I'm getting some serious nightmare flashbacks from back here, with your arse nearly in my face. That and I'll need you to be my eyes on this. My vision's bootily impaired" He would joke, with a light laugh. He hadn't actually thought of this happening while suggesting this plan, though Shmi would likely have a hard time believing that. "Luckily it's you, so I don't really mind" He cracked, with that smirk re-appearing. Sure, [member="Selena Halcyon"] had given him years worth of nightmare fuel from that one time, but Shmi was a different story. He didn't really know how to explain it. But considering he was pretty sure Shmi had been around in some capacity during the time of the "Grandbooty", there was a good chance she'd probably understand the nature of the joke.

Not that he minded the position he was in, granted... It was ironic, really. How much things had changed.

"Do you see anything up there?"

[member="Shmi Labooda"]

She bit down on her lip and rolled her eyes at his remark as she was boosted up and into the vents. She began her crawl forward, it was a tight space but she was of a much smaller frame than her boyfriend of course. Worried, she turned around to see if he had made it up and when she saw he did she began to move forward with him trailing behind her. She silently laughed to herself as she heard him curse under his breath. Well...he knew this would happen.

She came to a sudden stop when she hovered over another grate which revealed the lower level beneath them. The light from below was split into multiple sections as lines appeared on her face and dimly lit the vents they were in. Seeing a patrol go pass she figured they could go a little further, she didn't know exactly where they were going either but she was following her senses; this wasn't the stop.

She turned her head when she heard him begin to speak, she rolled her eyes and laughed, "Bootily impaired huh?" Crawling forward, "Like you mind this at all...I have a feeling you planned this out." she said sarcastically.

"No I don't see anything yet, lets keep going. However, i'm sure you see something up here..." she said sarcastically and shaking her head as she crawled forward.

Though then her attention was averted and after a good time crawling she came to another vent and she heard talking, she laid down and pressed her chin against her arms as she listened.

Sure he did, but he knew they had little choice. Sure, the both of them were Jedi Masters, but he wasn't arrogant enough to think that they couldn't fall to a numbers game in a small space. It was suicide, simple as that. It was better they got to the slaves first, got them out of the way so there was no collateral damage, and then went to work on taking out the slavers. It was always a debate as to whether to kill them or arrest them. Josh always just swung and let fate decide when it came to slavers. But why though, when he was usually a man that went non-lethal? Fact was, he knew that slavers weren't really people that would be likely to change. If you were so high and mighty, selfish and greedy that you would capture and enslave people? There was little hope for you, really. He doubted that galactic jail would change them, they'd just go back to their ways once they were out.

But that was just him. Every Jedi had their preferences and stances. Like said, Josh just did what he did, and if the slavers lived, they'd be arrested, if they died, well then they got what was coming to them. He wouldn't do this with any other group though. If there was even a small hope that they could change, he'd take it. Slavers... Pretty much no chance.

"Who said I mind it?" He would remark, taking the chance to stare straight at what was round and in front of him. "I didn't plan for this, but part of me is glad I suggested it" He joked, laughing in turn. "Just don't stop abruptly."

Knowing her, he figured she'd probably do it anyway, just to get at him.

She might be able to hear voices under her, once she came to the vent...

She sighed as there was slight evidence of a smile she was holding back, yes she could sense his thoughts but did she really need to? She already knew what was on his mind just as he said that. She shook her head "Josh..." she turned her head as best as she could in the space and she got a pretty decent look at him and even saw that something else had his attention. "Focus..." she said before turning around and continuing to crawl. Giggling, "You said you'd behave yourself..."

She rolled her eyes at him mentioning that she shouldn't stop abruptly. This was before she lowered herself closer to the vent to pick up on the voices she'd heard through the splits. Turning her head slightly so that her ear was facing it, it didn't take her long to attune herself to those beneath them.

If she did stop abruptly, it wasn't her intention. She was just getting into the mission...

"Boss wants to make a game of it...." one of them spoke, a weird raspy voice.

"So we're feeding them to the Rancor huh? I'm placing my bets right now then..." another chimed in as they all began to speak in tandem.

She turned over and looked up at Josh, her eyes grew big. "So they're gonna be used as pet food?"

[member="Joshua DragonsFlame"]

He did say not to stop abruptly. Unfortunately, it seemed he had said it too late. Apparently Josh hadn't gotten the memo that Shmi had found a vent and had moved her head downward because he kept crawling and wasn't able to stop in time when Shmi did abruptly stop. What happened? Well, to say it bluntly, it was like a car crash as all of a sudden his vision went dark as he felt something soft against his face. It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what had just happened as his face was pretty much smooshed against the dead center of her backside since he hadn't been able to prepare for the abrupt stop. He could prepare for the strikes of a saber, or a blaster bolt coming his way. He could prepare for a ship coming down on his head full speed. But he couldn't prepare for the abrupt stop of Shmi. A muffled "Mfffgghhh" sounded but it was too quiet to really notice at first.

He did try to back out, even if he could admit he was enjoying the view and feel of the whole thing, but I mean, let's face it. He was 6'4, he didn't crawl into this vent because it'd be easy to maneuver. He finally did around the time that Shmi had overheard from the vents, and when she turned back to him, he couldn't meet her eyes. His cheeks were a crimson shade of red, his eyes were oriented more downward, but he did at least listen.

Force, was he going to make sure she paid for that when they got home though.

Letting out a breath that was almost visible with how hot and heavy it seemed to be, the Jedi Master would try to get his wits back in time to fully register the severity of what she had learned. "If there's a rancor here, we were right to hide. Move forward some so I can get to the vent" He would command, trying to forget what he'd seen and experienced for now. He wanted to survey what was below them for himself.

She went to look up at Josh but before she could fully turn around a receive an answer she felt something against her backside. Her reaction was quick but it turned out to be Josh...who hadn't been looking and ran into her. Her facial expression was slightly unpleasant "Wha? Hey!" she turned around fully as much as she could and looked upon him. However, the man was red...

He didn't even meet her eyes, and she knew he was embarrassed so she held back, besides he was cute when he blushed and it showed to this magnitude. Obviously it was an accident...

She laughed but quickly shut her mouth when she heard his breathing...a bit steamy. She shook her head. Following his command she turned back over and pushed herself forward so that he could get to the vent.

"Babe...what are you about to do?"

[member="Joshua DragonsFlame"]

How in the world did he explain to her that he got his face stuck in her backside because she stopped abruptly? Actually, his expression said it all, he probably didn't have to explain it. He tried to push it from his mind, but as she turned around to move, he couldn't help but check her out all over again, and he let out another steam-emitting breath from that. The Jedi Master was clearly quite hot and bothered, tensions were running high, and he'd probably smack her right in the backside doubly hard as soon as they had a free moment. But for now, he would wait for her to move before he would peek into the vent himself.

Trying to get himself back into the swing of things and focus on the mission, Josh would let out a calming breath to steady himself as he peered down, waiting for the two guards to be close enough, during the span of their conversation, slowly his hand would move and...

Bam!

One guard's head slammed, cracked, right into the skull of the other, knocking both of them flat. Taking a moment to ensure the both of them were down, as well as no reinforcements being around, Josh took that moment to remove the grate and fall into the room, quickly checking the computers to find where they were.

"Alright, so we're not far from where they're being held now" Josh would remark as he watched a few security cameras, trying to get a good idea of their path. "Seems the best way to go through for now is... Cut the power. Cut the lights. Our use of the cameras is gone the moment we do that, but it'll allow us to get past them from the cloak of darkness rather then try to take them on head on."

He would motion for her to take care of it, as he would head toward the door. "See if you can cut it. Either by force or technical ability, whichever suits you more. I'll keep watch."
