Valo Spar
Character
[OOC: This thread takes place at the end of the Cold War between the Sith Empire and Galactic Republic. Feel free to read up on that a little (its a short article) to make it easier to get into your story. Its the major plot line in the SWTOR video game so I'm sure some of you are familiar. Use your character's current name to avoid confusion. If you are a Sith/Dark Jedi character you are fighting for the Sith Empire unless you indicate otherwise. Same goes with Jedi and the Galactic Republic. Please start out with an OOC header in your first post to indicate major changes to your character as well as some sort of introduction in your actual post. Also, as this non-canon thread does not effect your actual character, I encourage coordination between other role players that evolve deaths and major injuries to add more drama . The eventual topic of this thread is the resumption of the Great Galactic War, regardless of my character being successful in his initial mission or not. ]
It had been 10 years since the Treaty of Coruscant. "Boring times" Valo would call it. Mercenary work had been steady, but no where near what it was during the Great Galactic War. Credits always came during death and destruction in his line of work, and there had not been more of that for centuries prior than during that War. A Sith Empire emerging out of the shadows? It was the stuff of nightmares for many, but not Valo. He was one of the first freelancers to accept the call of Sith. By the end of the war Valo had assassinated seven Republic generals, five Jedi masters, twelve politicians, and countless Republic grunts, making him one of the more successful mercs during that time. The Sith had not contacted him once during this cold war, but Valo understood why. It would be too big of a risk to hire a well known merc like him, word of that could trigger conflict before the Sith were ready to resume it.

The sun had set and Valo Spar was at the spaceport's pub once again. He had been stuck on this planet for the past month with no work at all. Becoming increasingly frustrated, it seemed like he would consume more and more alcohol every night he went out. This night, he assumed, would be no different.
A sharp buzzing in his pocket startled him as he had just taken a seat at the pub. "Finally!" he thought, "anything to get me off of this forsaken planet!"
Valo hurriedly pulls his communicator out and presses the transmit button. A blue hologram of a hooded figure appears on the pub's counter.
"Spar, I believe I'll require your services for the first time in a long time".
Valo almost couldn't believe the voice he was hearing. Darth Zao, it can't...
"Spar! Do you read me? This isn't the time to turn deaf on me"
"Yes, yes, my Lord, I apologize..."
"The Empire needs you to take out a target on Corellia, plain and simple, in and out"
"And who might this be?"
"The Supreme Chancellor of the Republic, Dorian Janarus"
"SHHHHHH, what in the galaxy are you saying all that for! I'm in a public place!"
"No matter to me Spar. You'll be sent further information after this. Zao out."
It took several shots of brandy before Valo got over the initial shock of that conversation. On one hand he was glad to be back in business with the Sith, but to take out the Supreme Chancellor? They had to know that this would put the galaxy back to war. And they wanted him to do it? Well, he figured if he pulled this off at least he might never have to work again. But for an operation like this he couldn't do it alone, no way. He thought it best to hit up some of his old contacts and so who would want to join him. This time Valo did his communicating in a private place, he couldn't help but think that someone may have overheard his conversation with Darth Zao in the pub earlier... perhaps that was just his paranoia kicking in. Regardless, the Chancellor was only to be in Corellia for a short time next week. Valo needs allies, and he needs them fast.
