One small step for a Jedi, one giant leap off the deep end (silver jedi, open)

Onderon known for a few things monsters, and beast riders.

There was history there to be found and read by the scholars who sought that information but it was not that which she looked for today, perhaps after the morning. This morning though she was heading toward a place of discovery, a year old, a few months in the making.

The transport that carried her, friends, and some colleagues headed toward the site, they'd have to walk in but it was so worth it.

There were those that would say this was something done only upon the efforts of proving one's silliness, or the need to feel a rush.

Serena had to admit, the rush was a high, a natural high. But it was what waits at the bottom that drove her to do the edge of the opening, a few feet away the platform that marked the entry point.

She had her gear on, the suit that protected her from the cold for it was cold where she was going. While she waited her turn she admired and took in the details of life around her.

Again she marveled at the world around her, so much that the eye does see, the senses can feel. She smiled she was getting closer to the edge.

She could see the opening now it did not look very big a deception for sure, for she knew that beneath that opening the drop went for over a mile. Many had said they would not go, wondering how they would get out. She had giggled, and told them of the tunnel that had been bored out to handle a small tram to take jumpers out when there were ready.

The extensive cave system below offered sites that could only be seen by those willing to make the jump.

Well, why not?

Said Vexader to himself while he stood there waiting with his whole suit up and ready. In fact, that same question was the one that he thought to himself when he was told about the whole situation.

Lately, his mind needed a different mission... perhaps looking out for the padawans in the trip would be kind of fun? They were capable enough and he knew that they would handle themselves pretty well, he actually thought that they would teach him a few things... things he lost when his mind was into a "void".

Sitting with his arms closed, he tried to remain cool and open... although his military style back from his Navy days was still present and it could be seen in his face, but what his face showed didn't mean what he was feeling, he was just kind of odd when transferring his emotions to his face.

Looking at the girl closer to him, one that he believed was a padawan, he decided to speak up a bit and at least chat.

"First time in Onderon?" odd way of starting a conversation but... he was just not good at it.

Serena turned looking at the man who she didn't know if he was talking to her, or to anyone who would just answer, "Yes!"She smiled, "Where have you jumped before?" She loved meeting others, but the look on his face was hard to read she stepped back to look a little harder.

"You aren't going to get sick are you?" That lack of emotion reminded her of her brothers before they...........emptied their stomachs.

For a moment she missed home, and she remembered how she had mentioned this trip to [member="Connor Harrison"] she had not seen him in the temple before she left and she had not heard of him returning, so she wasn't sure if he knew this was the week of the jump.

And she did not know if his journey had given him the results he wanted. Her friend was a mystery to her, and she told him she would be waiting for when he returned.

Onderon. The Beast Planet. A place of lethal wildlife and horrible creatures. Upon it's rocky shoulders stood millenia of blood and death and feral brutality. When humans came, they built the city of Iziz, the only place on the planet where one need not fear death by beast. Now, civilization had spread outwards, but the planet was still fairly dangerous. It was no death world, but the scent of eons of blood and death still lingered. Reine could see it.

It lingered here and there, like mist or fog. There, but not. Almost as if her mind played tricks on her. She could not see with eyes for she had none. Instead, she relied on the Force for her sight. The mists appeared and vanished in the width of a second, gone before they could truly register. It was a strange thing to witness and on a planet that was not attuned to the dark side, but such things were trivial to her. She was here for greater things. For better things. For Sith things.

She had heard rumors, whispers, of ancient things hidden in long forgotten places within this system. Chances were the Jedi held them, but they were equally good that no one had touched them since they were lost there. With this task, Reine had come and latched on to the first thing she had sensed: Jedi.

She had focused as well as she could to hide her presence. It took much of her concentration and even then she was never fully sure she was completely successful. When the transport taking the Jedi had left, she had followed via speederbike. It took longer and was more taxing on her hindquarters than a cushy transport would be, but the ability to remain more or less undetected was key to this mission.

And so, she found herself a few miles away and watching, waiting. The Jedi seemed to be focused on an opening into the ground, perhaps a cave mouth or entrance to a cavern of some kind. Reine kept her focus on masking her presence as best she could, but knew such a task was not her strong suit. It was a waiting game for now. Once they were all, or mostly all, in the cave mouth she could act.

She just needed... patience.

Vexander grinned a bit.

"I have been in several jumps... not like the one we are bound to do but more like orbital drops..." The Jedi Master was talking about the times when he had to be part of a Recon team, when actual drops with a transport was not possible and instead the officers were thrown from orbit in pods in order to avoid detection.

The bearded man looked at the blonde girl and raised his left eyebrow at the moment she implied that he was getting sick for... perhaps his demeanor? the face he had?

"Actually no, the only thing that might make me sick is if we encounter corellian limpets..." the young man remembered those disgusting parasites and a shiver ran through his spine "...disgusting little creatures..." getting to the task at hand, he smiled a bit "...but it is not likely we will found those in here".

With a casual look, he tried to gather further information just to learn further about the girl and the fact that he was supposed to at least know the names of those that trained in the Order. "Have you tried this before?"

Serena could not stop smiling she felt like herself today and when he asked her if she had done this before her eyes sparkled with excitement.

"OH yes I've done this on any planet that has a cave, or cavern deep enough that allows for the jump. There's nothing like standing on the edge of the platform looking down to see nothing but darkness. Those tiny flickers of hesitation because it's not normal to jump into a space you can't see into, much less know where the bottom is at."

Serena looked over at their destination, "From the moment you jump your heart thunders as you're racing through the darkness, you look down and you can see those tiny sparks of light, you take moments to enjoy the freefall closing off all sound but you have to pull the chute quick too otherwise you won't have enough time to open and drift, cause once you start to drift"

Serena's grin broadened, "Once you are drifting slowly now you can begin to see the formations, the drapery, and stalactites from the ceiling, the flowstones, and stalagmites rising from the floor, and the colors they give you hints at the planets history." Serena could see it all in her mind.

"If you want another treat going through the salt mines can be wonderful mind opening experiences. The psychedelic mine with its bands of color, and circular formations such beautiful art, such an example of how much we don't know, or see" Serena bit her lip thinking about it. It was stunning truly.

But the mine that captured her most was the one the Rebels used to hide from the Empire, and what they did in there, the carvings.

Reine still watched and waited, her patience running thin. She knew she had to wait and focus, but she hated waiting. Unfortunately, that was what this particular task was today. If she moved too soon, she risked losing the locations of the Sith relics, if they were still here. She had to keep vigilant and keep aware.

She kept a close eye on the cavern entrance. Not everyone had delved into the mine just yet, there were still individuals up top and waiting. The Miraluka lowered the binoculars and returned to her speeder bike. Once there, she took a seat and pulled out a datapad. She figured if she was stuck here for who knew how long, she'd keep an eye on the Jedi and another on the holonet. Perhaps, just perhaps, there was something she'd overlooked. It wasn't likely, but it couldn't hurt to look.

Periodically she picked up the binoculars and watched the Jedi group a bit, keeping tabs. Once all were inside the cavern systems, she'd make her move. For now, though, she was multitasking.

Disney's Princess
Arriving only a moment late, Emma Prinn had been busy getting dressed. The bodysuit and strappings were rather tight but perhaps appropraite for today's activities. She did remind herself that 'getting out and about' would have it's challenges. Alas, such is life and cliff-jumping.

Garbed in black leathers the genuninely modest woman strolled up to the entrance and lashed back her long brown hair. Any moment now they would attempt the descent. Naturally, Emma would follow the two Jedi who stood in line before her. [member="Serena Bouie"] and [member="Vexander Graves"] . Names she'd only recently encountered in passing. Perhaps this would be a good oppurtunity to say hello,

"Umph. Good grief. My britches are getting antsy. Must such a wonderful dive be done in such fashionable clothing? I swear." She swayed her hips and giggled, "Hehe. What is a woman to do."

She waltzed up to the others and nodded towards the gap,

"Emma Prinn. ...So? Shall we?"

Serena looked at Emma, "Well well [member="Emma Prinn"] as I live and breath, didn't see you as the type to take a jump" She grinned at Emma though, "you get use to the fit honey don't worry, you want it to fit good gives you better mobility"

She was excited she wanted to see this, "Shall I go first and show you how its done, or do you want to go first, and then we can all meet up on the floor and explore, I want to see the crystal cave, but they say going in there is dangerous." Serena remembered the images she had looked at via the holo. It looked stunning and the fact that it seemed to drain away the life essense of individuals made her think of the life crystals that use to be in the Rafa system.

She looked then to [member="Vexander Graves"] he was the one she was concerned about, the look on his face.

Victory is mine!
Shortly after becoming a Knight, Viper had begun to rove about the galaxy. He had admittedly gotten tired of the Republic's inaction at anything, so simply decided go and help wherever he could find trouble. He had to admit, although being a Jedi was tough, and had many hardships, it did have it's upsides. One such upside was like today. He had heard of a group of Jedi were heading to a large cave network. When he gathered a bit more information he found out the main way in was by jumping down a massively deep whole and opening up a parachute just before hitting the bottom. That was exactly the sort of thing that suited Viper's adrenaline junky side.

After making sure to acquire a good parachute from one of the local supply stores that took care of providing gear for the tourists, he trailed the group through the forest and toward the cave. While enroute, he suddenly had a cold feeling run up and down his spine. It was a sensation that caused the hair on the back of his neck to stand straight up. It was the feeling of being watched. His heart began to race as he looked around but saw nothing in the vicinity. He withdrew his sabers just to be on the safe side and continued forward.

No matter how much he walked, he couldn't shake the feeling. Perhaps it was nothing more than an animal? This place was loaded with them after all. As he pondered the possibility he noted that he had finally closed the gap with the other group who was now seemingly waiting nervously on the edge. He forced the uneasy feeling from his mind as he casually walked up to the group as they debated who would go first. Attaching his sabers back to his belt, a wide grin formed on his face as he cleared his throat loud enough for them to hear. "Oh come on guys! Don't tell me you're going to take all day about this!" And with that he charged directly at them. When he was about 15 feet away, he force lept over their heads, all the while performing a front flip and slowing his spin till he looked like he was doing a simple swan dive into the massive cavern below. Meanwhile, he was yelling like a banshee from the sheer thrill of the experience!

As the people above him began to shrink into the distance, he spun around to give them a simple wave. "See ya at the bottom!" He shouted back before spinning back around to take in the breathtaking site of one of natures marvels.

Emma was about to answer [member="Serena Bouie"] when a sudden brash wind by the name of [member="VlPER"] leapt clean overhead. And then some.

"Good grief! What a cheeky fellow!?"

She stammered up to the edge and peered down with sour amusment. Was he yelling?

"Oh my."

The brown-haired woman stood up and straightened her pants. Taking a step back to let [member="Vexander Graves"] take a lead. Maybe she'd go last after all. Though, unlike one other, Emma had no idea [member="Reine Bisset"] was in attendence. Her attention was craddled strongly upon the descent ahead.

Serena could only laugh as they were passed by she watched him run until he hit the edge with a bit of an arc he disappeared into the darkness. "I guess he just couldn't stand waiting anymore" She had seen people lose it and leave, but never seen them run past to get on with it.

Serena was not paying attention to there being any Sith around, she had focused on the jump but were there things within the cave that a sith would want? Time would tell and the encounter would be interesting.

Serena looked at Emma, "What is cheeky mean?" She had not heard that term the sound of it fascinated her and if she were to use it she wanted to be sure to use it right. As she asked the line was now ready for them to begin, Serena looked at her companions, "Look its our turn"

Serena's heart was beginning to beat faster she was ready for this she had wanted this for the last few week, this one jump would relieve any tensions she had any concerns and all she would have to do was focus on the cave, and her chute.

Vexander witnessed patiently as one of the presents jumped away to the cave. It seemed that the ladies were giving him room to jump since none of them were willing to jump. As a Master he actually hoped that they would just jump before him and that he would follow closely, but it didn't seem to be the case.

Releasing a small grin with his face, the young man decided to avoid further delay and approached the hedge.

"Adrenaline will try to take over your body... it might help you a bit but don't let it control you" looking down, he expected to see the chute of the man that jumped before him "Use the Force to stabilize yourselves in the air..."

Without any other thing to say, and with the grin washed from his face, the man again turned to his neutral demeanor and then... he dived like if he was expecting a water surface at the end of the cave. In mid-air, Vex looked downwards and pressed his arms against his body and remained still for a few seconds in order to speed up; his main idea was to land fast and wait for the other two ladies that would follow closely... he didn't want to come back to the Silver Temple with bad news and for that reason, he tried to land fast at the bottom.

Just as he suggested before, he began to use the Force to stabilize himself once he knew he was at a relatively close distance from the ground. Trying to slow down a bit before opening his chute, Vex opened his hands and legs smoothly in a horizontal way... then, after a few seconds he pulled the chute and began to make his way to the ground.

Thryk knew this place well. Onderon was the place for adrenaline seekers and rich kids. He fell squarely into the first category, with his crazy flying and makeshift gear, but it made him far happier than being cooped up on Mandalore. He walked up to see a man, part of a group, jump before the rest. He barked out a laugh, and ran to the edge, his eyes glinting.

"Awesome."

He looked around at the rest of the group, to see their reactions. A stoic man, probably military, had a small smile on his face, and a blonde and a familiar-looking brunette were chattering about something. Then he realized who the brunette was, and he took his helmet off.

"Emma! Didn't think you were the type to go jumpin'."

Emma watched [member="Vexander Graves"] make his jump and smiled. Suddenly she became surprised by the arrival another professional. Something of a lady-killer too, if rumor persisted. The one and only Mando himself. [member="Thryykarr"] .

"Oh my! Thryykarr of Mandalore. What a funny chance meeting you here? Welcome welcome. My associates and I were just about to go spelunking in earnest. But by all means, pray tell? What brings you here?"

She beamed a smiled and stood fast to gaze up at the tall carpet. He was indeed a juggernaut in presence as he was in wit. This would make their adventure all the more interesting indeed.

[member="Emma Prinn"]@Thryykarr@Vexander Graves

"Holy crap on a cracker it's a wookie" Serena stepped back to get the full scope of his height. "I think spelunking involves a climb. We. Jump. "

Serena watched Vex jump. Ever the master. Serena laughed now. "I'm going. You guys come on along. " Serena turned went to one side of the jump looked over at Em and the wookie, smiled broadly ran leaped did a but of a roll waved at her new companions. Rolled back. "Wooooooo. Hoooooooo" echoed off the walls.

Into the dim light she felt the wind on her face the free fall into the dark all her senses heightened as her heart thundered in her chest.

Oh God this is great. But she had to be careful too long and there wouldn't be enough time. It was freedom.

Not wanting to be splatter she pulled the cord and stopped falling. She could now enjoy the formations as she guided her chute to the lz. This place was stunning.

Below her feet the lights burned brightly the floor was lit up. There was so much to see! She was sorry [member="Connor Harrison"] had not been able to join them. This experience was one if the things that made life worth living. The beauty of the natural wonders of the universe.

She would tell him.. She was making friends though. Building a bridge that would help when doubt slipped in.

She turned the chute enjoying the view and waiting with reluctance to touch down.

Thryk grinned at the brunette girl, gesturing to the drop. He only wore his typical suit of beskar, with the jetpack on it. He enjoyed flying that way far better than using a parachute, with the wind howling around him and the air trying to stop him. It was like being a big, furry, bird.

"And then there were two. I'm here to have fun jumping from gigantic pieces of rock. But you're here, so I can have a bit of fun before I go jumping off the giant piece of rock."

He checked the seals on his suit again, just to make sure he wouldn't suddenly lose a glove or something in the air.

"Well, how's life with the silvers been treating you, Emma?"

Viper, having finally made landfall, was rolling up his chute when he heard the echoing of another jumper as she too yelled loudly on her way down. He quickly cast a glance upward and let out a small chuckle as he could just barely see a small black dot against a backdrop of sunlight from above. It was an absolutely amazing trip down. The tunnel was breathtaking, the thrill of the fall was exhilarating. The only thing he now regretted was how quickly it ended. Stuffing the last of his chute back in his bag, he cleared the floor to make plenty of room for the next jumper no matter where she landed.

Setting his bag against the wall, he pulled out a helmet that had a couple small flashlights on it and securely fastened it in place. Viper was ready to go exploring. Whether alone like he was used too, or with people. But he was ready to go. Still he thought he might just wait for a little bit longer to actually introduce himself to the woman who had jumped right after him...and maybe apologize for taking her turn.

It was about time these people needed a real foe, especially since the other one had departed after only just getting to know her new friends.

Onderon did indeed have things he wanted. More than he could count on his itty bitty fingers. Monsters, crystals, and more friends than he could ever imagine having. Hopefully they'd like his crimson lightsaber and new haircut. Lucky for them, Mordecai was in a playful mood and quite preferred to keep to himself for the time being. Led here by the oh-so glorious curiosity of a particular Sith Acolyte, he was delighted to find himself in the midst of such great activity.

"Monsters, monsters everywhere." He mumbled to himself as he tromped throughout the caverns. Between his fur-lined jacket, tunic, and lightsaber, he felt safe and secure indeed. "Where are youuu?" Mordecai's deep voice resounded out through the caves.

He surely hoped his friends would be here to play soon.

Emma smiled to the Mando and put a finger to her nose,

"Oh you know? It's something new everyday."

She made a silly kitty cat pose and quipped,

"Cheers!"

And with that she jumped into the mountain hole and sailed easily down to the bottom. Rather than a paracute she had equppied a thrust pack for a more modern fall. Plopping herself down casually upon the cavern's bottom with a grin and a hop.
