Catherine needed an armour. And not just any armour. She needed a specialised one that suited her needs and purposes as an engineer and a pilot, while still being equally effective at combat. As a Mandalorian, it is part of the Resol'nare, the six tenants to have a full set of Mandalorian armour, or beskar'gam.

Beskar'gam are the most distinctive and symbolic part of being a Mandalorian, and these "Iron Skin" as they were called, were crafted with the use of the rare and precious material, beskar or Mandalorian Iron. The material was known to be incredibly resilient, and very valuable. Most Mandalorians usually have their own versions of the armour crafted to their liking. The appearance and colour schemes of the armour deferred from individual to individual, and Catherine took to using a a shade of soot black for hers. She had loaned an assortment of equipment from Mandal Hypernautics, and the the very first included a AT-MP mining vehicle to be used to extract the precious material from the among the many deposits on Concordia.

The mining operation would neither be a lengthy nor a complicated procedure, after all Catherine was just mining the sufficient ore required for the creation of her armour. With the size and efficiency of the mining vehicle/walker, the drill worked its magic, beskar spilled out of the cavities that appeared in the rock. After several minutes of drilling, she killed the power and popped open the cockpit of the walker. With a grin on her face, Catherine lifted her goggles up as she inspected the drilled ore for quality.

Satisfied with the quantity of the ore, she called over the Ogre mining droids that she had loaned from Mandal Hypernautics, and tasked it to transport it to the waiting shuttle. The shuttle once filled with the valuable cargo of mandalorian iron, would be transported over to a small mining camp belonging to Beskar'ad Inc. A small company that Catherine had hired to create her very first beskar'gam. After a brief interval, the shuttle would then take the precious cargo to Mandalore, where the heavy work, including the forging and shaping would take place, among many others.

The old mandalorian was waiting at the camp for the new vod to arrive with the precious ore. She was to make beskar'gam for herself, the symbol of their people and a symbol that the galaxy feared. Mandalorian warriors were among the most ferocious and talented soldiers that the galaxy had to offer. They learned how to do battle from a thousand nations as they fought their wars for them as hired guns and brought the experience and knowledge back to the clans.

Strider stood their, his helmet off as he enjoyed his cigar. He would remove the cigar once in awhile to bring a thermos filled with caffa to his lips. The oldest Garon lived this long knowing that it was the small things in life that one had to spend time to enjoy. Taking a precious sip of his caffa he he would lower the thermos down back to his side an place the cigar back, perched in-between his lips.

The shuttle burdened with its precious cargo hovered over the small mining camp before landing in an open space near it. One of her newest friends and recruiter was there to meet her, before travelling together to the Beskar'd Inc. Smith in Keldabe, Mandalore. There she was to meet with her contacts who would help her proceed onto the next stage of her armour creation. From design to execution. Her vod went by the name of Strider Garon, and was Catherine's first introduction into the Mandalorians. She had left the military, still grieving over the loss of her family and wanting to leave her past behind, spent a large fortune of her savings investing into a personal ship before leaving Corellia.

While adventuring across the galaxy, she came across Strider, who introduced her to the Mandalorians, who in time became her new family. She skilfully piloted the craft down, landing it with a blast of air, spraying sand and rock everywhere. The ship's ramp lowered to the ground with a clunk, the droids clanked their way down, cargo in hand. Catherine surveyed her surroundings, and glanced upon her vod, giving him a enthusiastic wave.

Basaba stood as she was thinking about it. All around her right now the room was kind of spinning as she gave in a little. She tightened her grip with the mechanical arm and the near pure beskar attachment clenched before she rose up. One of her sisters said Strider was back as Basaba grabbed her rifle and slid it onto her back taking a moment to grab her case with the cannon it in. He would appreciate the destruction it could cause and give them a chance to use it against some raven's or sith. She started walking and popped her neck with a little enjoyment as she moved about.

After a brief round of inspection, the shuttle lifted off with the precious cargo back on board. The ship would be bound for Keldabe, where the beskar would be smelted for the forging and creation of the armour. The smithing of Mandalorian iron was a carefully guarded secret, and very few out of Mandalore understood how to work it properly. The secrets were usually passed down from one generation to the next by skilled metallurgists, and strictly confined with the Mandalorian community. Due to its versatility, the material could be melded into multiple alloys and forged into a variety of arms and armour.

The shuttle would be approaching the base of Beskar'd Inc. shortly, and from then on, design would move on to execution, and the construction of the beskar'garm could finally begin.

Deep in thought the smith Kal Kandossii was sitting at his work station as he looked at several plans for cybernetic eyes. It was a slow process of choosing what aspects of each different design the many kinds of schematics offered. This was to be a complex and delicate undertaking. Leaning back he glanced at the radar that showed a ship incoming.

Flicking the files close and saving his work with a few deft motions of his hand he rose and climbed up the slight incline to exit into the cool evening breeze. Standing in the shade offered by the domed building he waited as the shuttle dropped from the sky to where the area maany others ships and vehicles rested.

The shuttle headed to the domed building of Beskar'ad Incorporated, the company who was responsible for the creation of her beskar'garm. It was owned by Kal, a member of the Kandossii clan. Aboard the ship, was the precious Mandalorian iron ore mined from the rich deposits on Mandalore's orbiting moon, Concordia. The transport shuttle began the descent to the common landing bay, where small to medium sized freighters, transports and other various ships would use to do business with Beskar'd Inc.

Within a few moments, the craft landed with a small bump. The ramp lowered with a hiss. Catherine hurried down the ramp, excited by the prospects of finally beginning the forging of the armour. She grinned at the sight of a blonde-haired man standing at the entrance of the domed building. With a snap of her fingers, the droids lumbered out of the shuttle, carrying the valuable ore with them, and slowly made their way towards the interior of the building. She took a few hurried strides before landing in front of the man, introducing herself enthusiastically."Su'cuy Vod! I'm Catherine Romanov, and I believe you are Kal Kandossii? Shall we get started?" Catherine said with a beaming grin.

The Mandalorian pair greeted each other, and together they moved into the elaborate yet cozy workshop owned by the Kandossii. Datapad in hand, Catherine fired up her schematics, and handed it over to Kal. He gave it a quick glance, before mentioning that she could look over as they worked.

At his work station he hooked the datapad into his table and the holo image inlay over the desk began showing the schematics. Glancing over his shoulder he spoke to his smiths. "Okay guys. Collect the unrefined ore and push it into one of the store rooms. Ms. Maxwell here is in a time crunch and needs that armor. So it's all hands on deck."

Glancing back to the ghostly images of the planned armor Kal began making calculations in his mind. "Teroch get the beskar bars with the two percent ciridium. Get to work on those plates. Haran, time for you to work on the armor weave bodysuit. Aalya the helmet is your. Remember people this is a vod's beskar'gam. Now go to work."

As the three smiths went about on their individual assignments Kal bent over and poured over the designs for weapons to be added on. Compiling a list on his datapad and went into a different room, grabbing a grav lift. Inside he grabbed the assortment of weaponry to be added to the armor and loaded the lift up.

Walking back to the work station he began laying them out and making sure they were fully operational.

Catherine watched the Beskar'ad smiths get to work. The trio were known as Teroch Haran, Aalya. Each went to the beskar piles and collected their amounts before heading to their respective stations. Laying out several shards under the fire Teroch let them heat. She observed as he put on his leather gloves and aprons as he grabbed the metal with his tongs and with his right hand holding a heavy hammer he began flattening the metal. With each calculated swing, the beskar plate began to straighten out and thinning in the process.

Gripped firmly on its side, he tapped it down in a fold and placed it back on the heat to warm the metal just enough to make it a bit more pliable to work with. He then continued working on the plates with his tongs and hammer. Slowly and methodically, the beskar platework began to take the shape of the armour. Aalya herself working skillfuly and gracefully crafting the helmet according to design, working the metal as though born to craft. Haran, too applied his wealth of experience and knowledge as he expertly crafted the armourweave bodysuit, making a suit of perfection according to the design schematics.

The room echoed with the ring of hammer on anvil as the three smiths echoed each other with the hammering and moulding of the metal plates. The pieces were set aside as they began the process anew working on more plates of beskar with a dedication that spoke of their experience, commitment, and joy for this work, the creation of a beskar’gam for a new vod.

Basaba Willamina

A'den and Alor be aliit Willamina
Basaba had finally arrived and she raised an eyebrow, the small shouting she could make out had someone making armor and that interested her... mostly because the only ones she had ever seen working to make their armors or other armors were her and Ordo. THe pair were the field marshals and ones to go to while she walked in and was looking around. Eyes lficking back and forth while the scars from the fight with the shield sith still were stitched up. "Whose armor are you working on?"

Catherine watched as a figure ambled into the room. She recognised it to be Basaba Willamina, a Field Marshall in the Mando'ade. "It's mine." she answered. "I hired Kal and his gang here to create my beskar'garm for me." She turned back to the beskarsmiths at work, the armour nearly completed after a laborious day of work.

With the plate work completed, the trio began to work on the wiring and circuitry for the beskar'garm. Lines of power cables and other finer wires lay strewn on the table among scattered packs of power cells, awaiting installation within the armour itself.

Aalya, herself was working on the interior of the buy'ce, setting up all the required systems into the helmet's core. After the installation of the circuitry, she also installed the other viewfinder screens and other miscellaneous visor features, including the macrobinoculars viewplate among others.

With the besk'ar plates shaped and moulded perfectly to completion, Teroch began to work on the colour scheme, spray-painting it soot black, darkening the armour to a dark finish. He then proceeded to assist Haran on the armour-weave bodysuit. When the bodysuit was completed, together the duo attached the besk'ar plates to the bodysuit, completing the final stage of the armour.

With the suit fully assembled, the pair began working on the weapon attachments on the gauntlets. Teroch worked on the left gauntlet which included a flamethrower, a dart launcher and a multi tool, which functioned mainly as a multipurpose diagnostic and engineering tool. Haran, on the other hand, worked on the right gauntlet, which featured a hologram projector, a retractable besk'ar blade, as well as a wrist missle-launcher consisting with a small attachment of stun & sleep darts.

The multi tool was a piece of art. Specially designed by both Kal and Catherine themselves, via datapad, and holo-communicator many months before even meeting in person. Its main function was to be a multipurpose diagnostic and engineering tool suited for a multitude of tasks. It has a small onboard computer that enables it to slice electronic systems. Equipped with a array of mechanical tools in a similar concept to a Swiss Army Knife, it can help facilitate repair of items on the field. The computer also includes an option to remotely control her ship's autopilot, allowing the ship to come for remote pick-up.

With all the parts of the fully assembled and ready for testing, Kal approached Caterine who was sporting a exuberant grin on her face. Catherine exclaimed as she looked at the finished suit of her very own beskar'garm. "Well, would you look at that! "What a fine piece of art that is!"
