- Can Interface with Sith-Imperial Technology
- Versatile: The OO's small and spherical design allowed it to move quickly while it's various modularities allowed it to be used in a large swath of roles from maintenance to administrative duties to espionage.
- Smol: Being very small and not programmed towards combat, the OO is on average less than stellar when pushed into a situation where it was forced to defend itself. Its main strength is its versatility in non-combat roles.
Designed with aid from Industrial Automaton, the OO-series Astromech was produced to serve as the Sith Empire's primary astromech droid. Widespread throughout the Empire's many territories, the OO serviced a variety of roles due to its customizable modularity and was found in nearly all aspects of the Empire's bureaucracy and military. Administrators used the droids as personal servants to access computers, relay messages, and aid them in the governance of the Empire. The military used the OO as mechanical assistants, strategic planners, sabotage, and espionage.
However, it was the Sith that found the most use for the OO astromechs. They were the perfect non-organic companions for the Sith to take with them on missions and errands for themselves or their masters. The OO could be customized to fit a Sith's personality, and in time would mold themselves to pair with their master's quirks and oddities. The OO employed by the Sith could range from benign servants to sadistic tormentors, depending on the disposition of their owners.
The OO could interface with Sith-Imperial technology, especially starfighters. While most standard line fighters were equipped with a droid brain that mimicked the role of an astromech droid, it was possible for a pilot to request a modification to their craft to allow the socketing of an OO unit in lieu of the internal droid brain.
