OOC: Mandalorian invasion of Telos IV [New Order vs. United Mandalorian Clans]

Hi SWRP.

Later on today on the 26th of July, the In Character thread for the United Mandalorian Clan's invasion of Telos IV will be going up. I thought [member="Gilamar Skirata"] was going to put up this Out of Character thread yesterday, but it looks like he never got around to it. I was out all day yesterday because I attended an in real life meet up with the SWRP that I transferred in from, which was interesting...

Anyhow, this is what is going to happen.

- The Mandalorian Invasion of Telos IV will be objective based. Both sides will need to complete all three of the objectives to win the battle. Concession will be made on my side (I can't talk for Gilamar and the rest of the Mandalorian leadership) if I think that, even though 1/3 or 2/3 of the objectives have been completed by the Mandalorians, the New Order lost the battle. I am fair like that and I hope the Mandalorians are too.
- The invasion will have fleeting. There will be two player characters on each side that will be fleeting. Fleeting will be one of the objectives in the upcoming battle and is a must win for both sides to effect the winner of the battle.
- There will be ten allies allowed for each side. People from other factions that are allies of the United Mandalorian Clans or New Order will need an In Character reason to be there. I will be accepting or rejecting allies on behalf of the New Order if I think your In Character reasoning for being there is good enough; and either Gilamar or someone else from the Mandalorians will be doing the same.
- The battle will be mostly PvP. So to complete the objectives (which I will be listing below) will need both sides to clear the players that are fighting for the same objectives in order to win. I think the fleeting objective is an exception to this because it's fleeting, but if the other players I will be fleeting with as [member="Malus"] want to make it PvP as well on a ship or something then that sounds cool.
- Players are allowed to bring two alts to the battle. If one of your alts do not belong to the faction that you will be fighting for, then that alt will go towards the ten allies allowed for your side, so pick wisely.

And from me personally to the New Orders, United Mandalorian Clans and other writers participating in the battle, please enjoy yourself. Let's try and keep the reports to the staff on a minimal basis and if you're having any problems with a writer then please try to sort it out between yourselves before contacting myself, Gilamar, another Mandalorian or New Order admin or an RPJ.

The objectives:

For the New Order:
- Defend the Telos IV capital of Thani from the United Mandalorian Clan's assault, at any and all costs.
- Defend the Prefabricated garrison base that has been stationed on the outskirts of Thani from the United Mandalorian Clan's ground assault, at any and all costs.
- Win the battle for the Telos system, by eradicating and/or pushing back the the United Mandalorian Clan's war ships and troop transports (fleeting).

For the United Mandalorian Clans:
- Take the Telos IV capital of Thani from the New Order, through an all out assault.
- Take or destroy the New Order's Prefabricated garrison base that has been stationed on the outskirts of Thani.
- Win the battle for the Telos system, by eradicating and/or pushing back the New Order's war ships and troop transports (fleeting).

With this PVP focus, is it safe to say that the Mandalorian attackers for ground objectives have landed or are landing, using stealth transports or riding Basilisks from orbit or whatever? I don't like to assume that they've gotten around fleet defenses without running it past the other side's boss. Based on what you've got here I think that's your assumption for starting conditions, and it makes sense, I just want to be sure.

Good question.

I saw in the other thread you made in the Mandalorian forums that you will be using pods to get down to the planet surface. Obviously with the fleeting elements involved, whoever it is on your side that will be fleeting can, if they want to, write deploying forces, of which player characters can be on board to get down to the planets surface.

But as for you guys going down to the planets surface, that is inevitable due to the four player constrains (two on New Order, two on Mandalorian) for the fleeting element. So long as it is realistic then I am happy for you to bomb the kark out of my world :)

Sorry you're not participating man. I was looking forward to fleeting against you. Would of been a real challenge.

Perfect. I'll let the boys know to 'spawn' on the ground or on their way to it, for PVP.

Oh, also, tagged you as Ashin - got a chance to spruce up one of your ships before you start.

Mass Shadow Generator: recommended by 9/10 Zabrak. :D

Sounds like it'll be a lot of fun. I look forward to reading through the thread as it develops.
