[OOC] New Recruit -x- Arc Troopers?

Hey guys, my Character Kyber Salurra has just joined the Republic, and i'm (or he is, rather) interested in joining the Advanced Recon Commando (ARC) Troopers. I couldn't find all that much info in the Galactic Army section so I looked into the Intelligence Agency section and found the Special Forces division, which may be the new equivalent to that? Or perhaps a non-clone equivalent? I'm not totally sure but any info on this would be very appreciated, Thanks!

Welcome man!! Honestly I don't know where you'd go about looking up the ARC program here...but the sounds like a right place

There aren't really ARC troopers anymore, since the Republic doesn't use a clone army anymore. It's composed of volunteers.

Essentially, special operations are in two sections. GIA Special Forces and Army Special Forces. GIA Special Forces seem to lean more towards VIP protection and some black ops missions. Army special forces are more traditional special operations, I think.

Hey, welcome [member="Kyber Salurra"]!

There used to be a Havoc Squad -- but if you want to compose a new squadron, by all means take that initiative and the faction will help it come to fruition!

There used to be these divisions:

Titan Division (TID): Known to be ground-pounders, this army protects the home of Republic. Based out of Anaxes, they go through rigorous training schedules imposed by the Generals of Anaxes at the behest of the General of the Armies. Though they don’t retain the largest budget of the three divisions, Titan Division is known for being best at trench warfare and winning wars. No enemy wishes to face the might of the Titan Division, for they know they’re in for a long beating.

Sword Division (SWD): Retaining the highest budget the Republic could muster, Sword Division is known as the right hand of the Supreme Commander. It’s often joked that the Supreme Commander feeds the Chancellor with his left hand and swats off the Chancellor’s enemies with his right. In the case of invasion, be the Republic a defender or offender, Sword Division is boots on the ground in seconds. A fast reactionary force that specializes in fear tactics and brute force, boots will quiver when the Sword Division comes knockin’.

Phoenix Division (PHD): Descending from the heavens in high-risk situations, the Phoenix Division considers themselves holier-than-thou when interacting with other members of the military. A soldier’s life in the Phoenix Division is short-lived, but the inside joke is that they’ll rise anew from the ashes. When the Republic faces the most dire of situations, it’s the Phoenix Division that they call upon the turn the odds in their favor.

Let me know if I can help (But [member="Popo"] is super on it with the military knowledge. I'm the faction cheerleader).

Thanks for the info guys, I appreciate it. Now that I know I think I'll wait on making some ARC Troopers. I'd like to get to know the forum better and become a better member of the community before I try to start up something like that, but again, thanks for everything guys!

lol Phoenix Division does sound like a great ARC based concept. However just because their are no clones does not mean there can't be an ARC unit. The concept is a solid if there is enough people to make it work.
