STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES :

(+) Although being nowhere as good as a trained soldier, OOM-41 is still a decent shot and can handle himself in a firefight. Sometimes.

(+) OOM-41 is one hell of a lucky droid, even more so than the famous C-3PO or R2-D2. If it wasn’t for that luck, which saved him from countless blaster bolts, the poor thing would’ve been scrapped days after his deployment.

(+) Most people seem to think all droids are dumb as bricks. Well, that is not the case with our friend here. Although not the cleverest of the bunch, over the course of the years, OOM-41 has developed the ability to pick up certain skills and traits simply by watching.

(+/-) Brutally honest. OOM-41 will not hesitate to voice his opinion on something—or someone—which got him into trouble more than once. Some might think he speaks his thoughts slightly too much, but then again, OOM-series droids were more independent and weren’t exactly programmed to keep to themselves…

(-) 41 needs a lot of training on stealth and explosives. He hasn’t thrown a single grenade in his life and can be heard from star systems away when he’s trying to be sneaky. That makes it impossible for him to sneak up on someone, although if somebody were to show him the basics of stealth…

(-) Needless to say, like any other droid, OOM-41 is very vulnerable to ion charges and blaster fire.

BIOGRAPHY

Transmission sent from the Olanet main factory to //REDACTED//, 28 BBY, hour 2100.
The 36th batch is coming along nicely. Creating a droid independent enough to think through enemy tricks and traps but loyal enough not to desert has proven to be harder than expected. I can guarantee the droids will be smarter than their already-manufactured counterparts—however, there’s no telling /how/ smarter they’ll be, due to our lack of resources. We've also equipped the droids with an experimental metal plating, which is unlikely to corrode and gives the droid some protection on the battlefield against shrapnels and the such. But do not expect them to survive a direct hit from a blaster. Other than that, the leak at Sector C-2 has been fixed and the production rate remains at 81%.
I sincerily hope this batch meets the Supreme Commander's requirements. Unfortunately, we cannot allocate any more credits to improve the droids' functionality.

OOM-41 began his life like any other droid: churned out in one of the numerous factories owned by the soon-to-be Separatists. He was part of the 36th batch of battle droids in the main factory on Olanet. The batch, requested by a rather unhappy General Grievous, was designed to be more efficient than other common units. OOM-41 and the other droids in the 36th batch were designed to think more freely than the B1 unit, enabling them to put up a better fight against organic opponents.
Batch 36 wasn’t a success, but it wasn’t a complete failure either. The droids turned out to be more independent, but their AI was only slightly better than the regular B1. The batch was treated like any other and its units were deployed on numerous skirmishes and battles during the Clone Wars.
OOM-41 served as a security droid aboard a Lucrehulk-class battleship in the last year of the war, before being deployed during the battle of Kashyyyk weeks before Order 66 was issued.
Like every other droid on the battlefield, OOM-41 was disabled by the Separatist High Council sometime after Order 66 and the great Jedi Purge. However, this wasn’t the end of the line for our metallic friend. The rusty remains of the droid were found by a smuggler nearly three hundred years after the Clone Wars. The smuggler decided to pick up whatever was left of the droid, whose body was now nothing but junk, and sell it as spare parts.
The droid was bought by a wealthy technology enthusiast, who decided to repair its body and conserve it on [to be revealed in future RPs]. OOM-41 was well looked after for generations by the wealthy man's offspring, until the palace he was conserved on was nearly destroyed after a pirate attack and abandoned in 829 ABY. The droid’s body still remains there, mostly intact, but still inactive and waiting for the day someone will stumble across it…

Note: I know this character doesn't really stand out and that using a droid from the Clone Wars isn't quite original. I just wanted to play a droid for once, and the OOM/B1-series happened to be my favorites. If there's an issue with OOM-41 having participated in the last months of the Clone Wars, or the fact that he's been around since...well, a lot of time, please just say so!
Now let's hope that this trusty droid finds a master to follow around...
