• Oren is a blademaster, skilled with most melee weapons; his weapon of choice is a hand-and-a-half Sith sword.
• Oren is thoroughly competent in core powers, with an emphasis on telekinesis.
• Oren is a talented musician, vaguely familiar with pretty much every kind of instrument; he is a well-trained bass.
• Oren has acquired significant resistance to many Sithspawn venoms.
• Oren isn't as young as he once was.
• Oren hasn't operated any kind of starship in years, and is easily disoriented in space combat.
• Oren, like many skilled Vahla, has powers of farsight. Oren's talents generally require some application of the teachings of Calypho, often involving pelko bug venom in quantities large enough to overcome Oren's acquired resistance.

APPEARANCE:
Oren and his clothing are worn down by the desert. He's a nomad who sometimes visits Jakan Port, Lasaraleen, Tashbaan and New Dreshdae, the four largest towns on Tash-Taral. He has a career fighter's thick torso and forearms, and plenty of scars.

BIOGRAPHY:
Oren's life before he turned to the Jedi could span volumes. Blademaster, swordsmith, husband, father and grandfather, Chosen of Vahl -- all of that ended years ago on Tash-Taral, due to circumstances unknown. He struggled to follow the Light Side in the last years of the Dark Age, but found himself surrounded by a universe that made no sense and contained no justice. He pursued personal vendettas against Sith, in part as a means of making sense of the Jedi, and in part as a coping mechanism after the death of his wife. Bitter and tired, he fell to the Dark Side in the course of his duties, and retired as a Jedi not long before Ben Watts and Teferi Efreet reunited the Jedi Order. By the time the Jedi became strong, Oren had already returned to the company of Vahla. He and those close to him declined to join [member="Darth Isolda"]'s faction of Vahla, choosing instead to live on the isolated desert world of Tash-Taral. On that planet, a bastardization of Korriban and Tatooine, the fallen Jedi acquired a reputation as a killer of Sithspawn and criminals, a desert nomad, a carver of bone charms and a man deliberately out of touch.

Due to the efforts of [member="Seydon of Arda"] and [member="Alec Rekali"], Oren and his social circles joined their extended family members in Clan Rekali. Oren quickly distinguished himself as a level-headed and insightful leader, and his life experience was similar to that of the Clan Father. Eventually, he became a major counselor to Ember Rekali. That trust was tested when Oren and various Dark-leaning Clan members journeyed to Dxun and twisted orbalisks and tracking device creatures into the first Calypho Compasses. The permanent symbionts allowed Oren and others to blaze new trails through the Hard Roil for the Clan. In the end, their sacrifice was recognized, and Oren returned to favour by rescuing Alec from the Dark Jedi paramilitary outfit Ke'dem.
