GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Organization Name: Organization for the Defense of Imperial Supremacy [ORDIS]
  • Classification: Populist Government Agency
  • Affiliation: The Sith Empire
  • Organization Symbol: ORDIS shares the same symbol as the Empire, albeit completely white on a dark red background. This symbol is strewn all about the Empire as banners, flags, and mandatory armbands for members of ORDIS.
  • Description: The Organization for the Defense of Imperial Supremacy is an agency of the Pyramid of Civil Administration responsible for the promotion of Sith-Imperialism, an ideology dedicated to order, control, and the rule of law, and influences many aspects of the Empire's society including the arts, sciences, youth education, law enforcement, and even Imperial Military functions. Civic pride, militarism, and unyielding patriotism to the Empire are tenets supported by ORDIS, who frequently proselytizes these ideals through pervasive propaganda, pre-recorded speeches, and patriotic rallies. Unlike previous similar organizations, ORDIS is in-line with the Empire's meritocratic policy regarding Aliens, with non-Humans making up a sizable percentage of the organization's membership.

ORDIS was divided into several sub-organizations that answered to the National Cabinet, which was comprised of the administrators of each sub-organization and collectively guided them according to the ideology of Sith-Imperialism. These sub-organizations were, in no particular order; the Imperial Youth, the Directorate of Imperialization, Cultural Protection, the Imperial Mission, and the Office of Imperial Truth. The National Cabinet was headed by a Chancellor who answered to the Dark Councilor of the Pyramid of Civil Administration. A Vice-Chancellor served at the behest of the Chancellor and often delegated the Chancellor's duties to lesser functionaries when desired.

The Imperial Youth was a Non-Force sensitive youth-based sub-organization of ORDIS consisting of enthusiastic youth members fervently loyal to Emperor Carnifex, the Sith Empire, and the tenets of Sith-Imperialism. Shaped into patriots by the standardized curricula written by the Office of Imperial Truth, such youths were trained to become loyal administrators, bureaucrats, and soldiers of the Sith Empire. In lieu of public education, the youth of the Sith Empire was instead enrolled into Youth Academies at the age of six where they would be taught the ideologies of Sith-Imperialism, military basics, revisionist history, and other skills to shape them into diehard loyalists of the Sith regime. Membership in the Imperial Youth did not end until the age of sixteen, where these youth would be conscripted into the Imperial Military for their mandatory ten year service period.

The Directorate of Imperialization was a sub-organization responsible for implementing long-term methods to realign wayward star systems back to the principles of Sith-Imperialism, as well as shaping and monitoring the cultural aspects of the Empire. This was achieved through large-scale operations known as Five-Year Plans, in which the Directorate of Imperialization would choose a portion of the Empire to improve over the course of five galactic standard years. This improvement involved the upscaling of agriculture, industry, and the expansion of population centers. Anything that did not meet up to Imperial standards of decency was erased, which ranged from local traditions and even native religions, with those considered profane replaced with superior Sith-Imperial equivalencies.

Cultural Protection was the military wing of ORDIS, made up of loyal and zealous adherents of Sith-Imperialism. Typically pulled from graduates of the Imperial Youth, these fervent soldiers, known as Stalwarts, were then dispersed throughout the Imperial Military to serve as loyalty officers and ensure that the tenets of Sith-Imperialism were upheld. Cultural Protection Stalwarts were among the most diehard followers of the Sith and the Empire's political religion, which made them powerful tools to wield against dissension and sedition within the ranks of the Imperial Military. In time, officers of both the Legion and Armada came to distrust and even fear the Stalwarts of Cultural Protection.

The Imperial Mission is a non-militaristic sub-organization of ORDIS dedicated to the spread of the Sith-Imperial ideology within the territory of the Sith Empire. Once a population has been pacified and cleaned of dissent, the Mission is tasked with proselytizing the populace with rallies, mandated propaganda, eschewing everything non-Imperial, and performing other acts of service such as education, literacy, social justice, health care, and economic development.

The Office of Imperial Truth was an organization responsible for the creation and dissemination of various Imperial propaganda intended to glorify the Empire or cover up its atrocities. The head of the OIT notably oversaw the Sith-Imperial News Network, ensuring that its stories were in line with government messaging, and censored anything that the ministry deemed 'dangerous' or 'un-Imperial'. By working to both censor and glorify the Empire through various forms of propaganda, the OIT paints a utopian society in which living under the Sith Lords was a paradise, and that the terrorists of foreign powers seeking to undermine authority, order, and justice.
GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
  • Headquarters: Bastion
  • Domain: ORDIS permeates nearly every aspect of Sith-Imperial culture and society, with virtually every citizen of the Empire a compulsory member of the organization. Children are instructed in accordance with its institutionalized dogma, and the working classes are fed a consistent stream of focused propaganda to subtly influence their dispositions. Humanitarian efforts are undertaken by the organization only to increase its influence among those newly annexed into the Empire, primarily as a method of weeding out individuals considered to possess seditionist tendencies.
  • Notable Assets:
    • Though ORDIS's headquarters is centered on the Imperial capital of Bastion, the organization maintains offices, recruitment centers, and even armed garrisons on practically every world in the Empire.
    • ORDIS has also acquired older Sith-Imperial military vessels and converted them into mobile bases, organized into sectoral task forces throughout the Empire. Such vessels have their military transcoders scrubbed and their Armada livery replaced with ORDIS identification.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Hierarchy:
    • Chancellor
    • Vice-Chancellor
    • National Cabinet
  • Membership: Membership in ORDIS was not only encouraged, but compulsory for citizens of the Sith Empire. Citizens were issued ORDIS armbands, membership plaques, and an identification number that was tied directly to where they lived. Only Non-Force Sensitives were allowed to be a member of ORDIS, with the Sith a part of the Brotherhood, and slaves deemed not worthy enough to be a part of any government apparatus.
  • Ideology: ORDIS's ideology was categorized as essentially far-right-wing populism; its core beliefs being Imperial nationalism, Sith supremacy, anti-democracy, anti-socialism (though this was not to say that they were pro-capitalist), and revanchism. The majority of ORDIS's most fervent followers were the lower and middle classes of the Empire, all of whom had been steadily indoctrinated into believing the Empire's lies about the rest of the galaxy. This large and stable supporter base allowed ORDIS to further expand its manipulation of society to Orwellian degrees. Through this manipulation, the anger and resentment of the lower echelons of society were directed towards the Jedi for their atrocities in the heavily mythologized history of the Sith, the Republican governments and institutions for their repeated 'failings' across history, and at the fabricated socialist insurrections of Selectivist guerillas that keeps the Empire in a perpetual state of martial law.
  • Climate: Though cordial and inclusive to those who were a part of the organization, ORDIS displayed vehement and often cruel derision towards those it deemed as unfitting to belong. This extended to everything and everyone that existed beyond the borders of the Sith Empire, as the propaganda wing of ORDIS demonized the outside galaxy as anarchic and dangerous. This venomous hate was fluid and ever-shifting and was prone to fall squarely on members of Sith-Imperial society who were found to be at fault with any one of the organization's tenets.
  • Reputation: The state media of the Empire, which was actually a sub-organization of ORDIS, presented ORDIS as infallible and incorruptible in every facet. ORDIS is perceived by ordinary civilians as one of the greatest avenues through which they could exercise their patriotic fervor and serve the ever-present and inexorable state. Outside of, and in resistance cells within, the Empire the perspective is quite different. ORDIS in this light is viewed as another extension through which the Sith exert their control over the galaxy, goose-stepping the proletariat and bourgeoisie further and further into enthrallment. Viewpoints such as these are routinely quashed by the sharpened claws of ORDIS's surveillance task forces, who have become all-too efficient at silence dissenting voices and erasing them from the public consciousness.
  • Curios:
    • Each member of ORDIS has a special identification chip that they are required to have on their person at all times. Failure to do so can result in physical reprehension.
    • ORDIS members are issued light gray uniforms based on those worn by the Sith-Imperial military, albeit bereft of military livery, with a braided armband that has the Empire's coat of arms printed in white over a red field.
  • Anthems, Gestures, and Mottos:
    • The Iron Fist, also known as the Kainite Salute, is a cultural practice originating within the Sith Empire. It is not known what facet of the nation it started, it has quickly spread like wildfire through every level from citizens to the highest echelons. It is considered to be a display of one's absolute devotion specifically to the Sith Emperor Kaine Zambrano by the raising of one's left fist high into the air, symbolizing the iron hand of the Dark Lord. In times of celebration, parades and many other situations or events it is not uncommon to see the Iron Fist raised high in the air by many who wish to show their loyalty and support to the Imperial monarch.
    • "Nyashjontû Wo!" One of the Empire's more popular mottos, which translates to "Out of Many, One" in ur-Kittât. It is used as both a greeting and a farewell by members of ORDIS, the Sith-Imperial military, and the Immortal Sith.
    • "Imperius, Imperius!" Another of the Empire's mottos, which translates to "Empire, Empire" in Atrisian Basic. The slogan is typically used as a reply to the phrase "Nyashjontû Wo!".
    • Several patriotic songs approved by ORDIS have become unofficial anthems of the organization, often sung during gatherings to foster camaraderie. Such songs include:
  • Rules:
    • Obey the laws of the government, and therefore the laws of ORDIS
    • Dissimilarity is disobedience, disobedience is dissension, dissension is sedition, sedition is treason, treason is death
    • Report any and all un-Imperial activity, failure to do so can result in physical reprehension and detention at an Enlightenment Center
  • Goals:
    • Strengthen Sith-Imperial unity within the Empire
    • Spread Sith-Imperialism to newly conquered systems
    • Uphold the status quo of Imperial Supremacy
    • Serve the Sith

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

ORDIS's beginning could be traced back to the emergence of the One Sith in 838 ABY, where many of the organization's current leaders were drafted by the One Sith into creating a political apparatus to better control the population of the Core Worlds. This organization was referred to as the Nationalist Commune and was initially contained only to the Core Worlds, Coruscant in particular. However, as the One Sith continued to make significant gains against the Galactic Republic, the Commune was expanded across the newly taken territories and the scope of its responsibilities quadrupled. The size and effectiveness of the Commune fluctuated during the war, but the organization was ultimately disbanded following the Galactic Alliance's victory at Coruscant and the subsequent dissolution of the One Sith government.
Branded as war criminals and hounded relentlessly by the Alliance's agents, founding and high-ranking members of the Nationalist Commune sought refuge in the court of Kaine Zambrano; one of the few leading Lords of the Sith who managed to escape Alliance justice. Protected from Alliance hunters on Panatha, these former officers of the One Sith were reorganized by Zambrano into a new organization that would serve as the political heart of a new Empire.
When that new Empire arose on Bastion, the Organization for the Defense of Imperial Supremacy arose with it.
Known more commonly as ORDIS, the group was quickly put to work to take control of civilian institutions across the Empire's growing territory in the same manner they had done before in the Core Worlds. Quickly, ORDIS grew into one of the Sith Empire's largest organizations, encompassing virtually all of civilian life and subsuming the entire non-Force sensitive and non-military population into its ranks. ORDIS became the status quo for every system in the Empire's control, and their reach was limitless. Placed under the authority of the Pyramid of Civil Administration, ORDIS became an invaluable and instrumental tool for the Sith to manage their incredibly large population in nearly every facet of life.
