Orihime Ike vs Marcus Undal Training Duel

He sat in the center of the sparring arena, meditating silent as his saber floated a few inches from his face. It was a beautiful day yet again on the planet Voss, and Marcus was soaking it up as much as possible. His eyes closed but a grin splashed on his face, this planet could definitely bring him tranquility.

A spar had been set up between him and an Orihime Ike, another Padawan learning the ropes. He had not had the chance to meet the young Padawan just yet, but was eager to today. Even though both would be dueling the other, Marcus was happy to meet more Jedi here.

The time had finally come for her to arrive. The wind blew through the arena, kicking up a small amount of sand on the ground. Clear and open, the arena was simple and easy for Padawans to navigate, with a sandy bottom for soft landings.

Opening his eyes, Marcus stared down the lightsaber that floated slowly in front of him. It was a weapon that could ultimately claim many lives if used correctly. Or was that incorrectly? The tribal wars on Haruun Kal would have changed completely if these were the weapons of choice. Gripping the saber fully, Marcus awaited his opponent graciously.

SHe had been more curious and well signing up for things was a given when she thought about it. Why not practice with another padawan while she brushed herself off and raised an eyebrow. All thoughts of what they could do while she touched her robes securing them over the plain bodyglove.

She had the elite glistaweb under robes she could wear and her outer robes were sleeveless with a hood and flowed down to her ankles while she pulled her hair back into a tight ponytail tieing a ribbon around them. Her sigil around her neck with the crystal choker that glowed blue in the gold metal, her shield amulet as a belt buckle and the blade of the rose saber on her hip compressed and at the ready as she was walking presenting it as a shoto saber at first.

Orihime cracked her knuckles letting the self fitting boots with the mini computer tighten around her feet while she exited her room and went to the training room. Her circlet on her wrist with the twin dragon heads at the bottom while she entered the room and looked like most of the jedi though she liked using her mothers bling and force gadgets like the earrings she had that hummed with the force energies.

"Hello."

The Korun waited until the woman was completely in front of him before bowing in courtesy. He was not sure if bowing was a normal thing for Jedi to do before dueling opponents, but bowing was a gesture the Korun did before they fought. Even with him forsaking much of his past, his pleasantries remained due to habit and circumstance.

"Padawan Ike, it is a pleasure to meet you." His rough voice had settled throughout being a Padawan, and had taken a slight velvety tone now. It was still gruff however, as years of breathing Haruun Kal's poisonous atmosphere will do to people. "Rules are simple. We fight until one of us gives in or becomes unconscious due to pain."

Looking at Padawan Ike through Force Sense was almost painful. Various trinkets and jewelry glowed brightly in the Force, giving off powerful essence. How could a Padawan be able to afford such powerful things? Marcus did remember the Ike name from the list of Masters, and so assumed the Ike surname must belong to a family of Jedi. This would be good information to put away in his brain.

Igniting his saber and setting it to training, the bright crimson beam bathed the room in red. When constructing his saber, several of his Padawan friends warned him against choosing a variant of red, stating the color was for Sith only. Marcus remarked that Jedi and Sith were cut from the same mold, just raised differently. In Marcus' eye, the color of one's saber did not naturally convey feelings of darkness. Swinging the saber, Marcus took a deep breath. He had to remember, sabers were a weapon of the Jedi, and he had to act like one while fighting.

Marcus had trained so far in Shii-Cho and a little in Djem So. He would be utilizing Shii-Cho more here, trying to master the basic forms of lightsaber combat. Wide arcs and basic deflection techniques made up Shii-Cho, allowing the user open spaces while dueling. Once Padawan Ike was ready, Marcus took off sprinting, moving towards her quickly. It was hard not to immediately regress to his jungle abilities, but instead, focus on battling her like a Jedi.

His saber trailing behind him, once within range, Marcus would initiate a spin and horizontally slash with a wide arc. The attack was not meant to hit, but rather check the young Ike's abilities. Marcus would also see what Form she would be using once she defended herself. Should Ike not defend herself from the wide slash, the training saber would rake across her chest and shock her like normal.

She watched him and bowed her body keeping her eyes trained on him though to offer respect but you never took your eyes off od one in a duel as she stood up and her hand went to her saber, Not activating it when he did as she looked at the blade with a raised eyebrow before holding her saber out facing to the side in a center of being stance to be able to react and it lit up.

The snap hiss emitting from it as the pale purple blade lit up the force crystal dust in the hilt that was compressed and able to extend when she needed it. The biometric sensor indicating her hand was accepted before she was watching him and her demeanor changed. Her mother had taught her a few things and as she moved the force made her heartbeat resonate in her ear as she went forward with the slash towards her chest.

Using her size to tuck in and down onto her knees while she was kicking forward to try and get the padawan in the gut and groin while her saber went up to try and push the blade and make his swing speed increase to spin around and trip him up more. Her free hand went out pushing at the wall and floor of the room to propel her forward with more speed and energy while she wondered more about the other padawan and where he came from.

Her quick jump forward and deflection was quick. Using the inertia she gave him by blocking and flying forward, Marcus continued to spin, making sure to do so away from her quick kick to the gut. It was very close, and if Marcus hadn't been watching, would've connected. Spinning and falling back now behind her, Marcus flourished with his saber and regained his footing. She was acrobatic, that was for sure, and she knew had to wield her saber well.

Swinging the crimson blade some more, Marcus waited for her to regain her footing equally. He would not attack her while she was down or moving quickly. She had propelled herself forward obviously, using her ability in the Force no doubt. Once she was on the same footing as Marcus, he continued his assault. Still attempting to assuage his rage that naturally built up, Marcus went for another strike, this time a wide arc starting with both of his hands. An overhead wide strike, he hoped to cleave down onto her shoulder with all of his strength.

Marcus was not sure of her form just yet. Ataru? He knew not much of the form, only that it utilized open spaces and open footing to gain an advantage over your opponent. Then again, using the Force during dueling pointed towards Niman more then anything. Still, Marcus was attempting an overhead strike, and her acrobatics would no doubt save her. Then again, Marcus was not attempting to hit her just yet, merely learning more of her form as he fought her.

She could sense him while she moved with it and looked back seeing him swing around. Ready for another attack as she exhaled stomping her foot and pushing up onto her head while she spun to be facing him and rolling like a ball. She ended up in a crouch facing him while her saber extended more going over her shoulders when he came cleaving down and the shaft of the pole glowed with the force that her mother had used to harden it. To make it able to resist being sliced through as a hilt while she looked at him to make eye contact and released some pheromones before pushing to get his blade back and she maintained a cool demeanor stepping back with the pole at the ready before the snap hiss of the blade to have it more like a pike as she stabbed with it jumping back to create distance and try to use the area around herself while pushing to propel herself up into the air.

The pheromones made Marcus lose his wits for a few seconds as his opponent flew backwards with her saber. Barely deflecting her thrust by batting it away, Marcus quickly lurched backwards. It was messy and off, and he had to regain his composure for a few seconds. The pheromones were a nice touch, and obviously something she had practiced.

Once he regained his stance, Marcus twirled the crimson blade once again, staring at her from afar. The pike attack had made him slightly angry, but again, he was attempting to battle without emotion getting in the way. Deciding to go on the defensive until he could find a better way in, Marcus stayed a good distance from her, stalking her as he walked around her. Strafing with a smile, his saber held close, Marcus quickly quipped. "I see you have some training in some rather unorthodox moves. Tribal women on my home planet would use pheromones to entice whole squads of men before quickly dispatching them. It's odd to see that strategy here in this temple." He smiled in jest, watching the young woman carefully.

She had a look while keeping the distance between them and letting the pole and blade remain between them as he circled and she followed suit. Slowly placing her feet to the sides toe and then heel to move as she thought about it. "My mothers always told me to use what comes naturally, the force, pheromone glands whatever else I got." She smirked a little though keeping her hands on the pole gripping it a little tighter. "It is how me and my family survive but what about you?"

"You fight and seem like you have aggression underneath but then seem strange. Most jedi I have seen would brood and say no one understands why they have to be the ones who give into it... but you haven't yet. Means like my cousin you know what that is like or you are a very devout jedi who is quick to remember the code." She said it bu was going for wise or insightful... really that was what her mother did more with padawans quickly.

Look them over and be extremely vague and general so their minds filled in gaps or found connections to make you seem smarter then you actually were. It served well enough for a couple of things and she could use it to an advantage here or there. On Ryn it had worked better then she expected and the padawan had gone running from the room with his face red and trying to hide his reaction.

Marcus couldn't help but smirk at the idea of him using his aggression. Anger was devoutly preached against by a number of Jedi teachers, as emotion could easily overwhelm a Jedi into rash actions. Marcus however kept his anger in check, especially during battle. Korun were taught at a young age to use their emotions in battle, and while it was not easy, it did assist in attacks. Replying quickly to the young padawan, Marcus continued.

"I would not brood over my emotions. Aggression can be a tool for even Jedi. To claim to be completely emotionless is a mistake in my eyes for many Jedi. Passion, while a grey area, can be used to a Jedi's benefit." Still strafing the young woman, Marcus kept his blade close to himself. Closing the distance between them slowly while speaking, Marcus was going to wait for her attack this time. His training in Djem So allowed him the ability to offensively counter attacks, and he awaited ones from the young woman. He would do not such thing until then.

She kept moving and watching him as he spoke. Not showing it on her face but remembering the same words from other jedi who were now sith or had just went darkside. Wasn't just the masters it was the padawans and knights who seemed to think they were the one who could do it. Use their emotions and aggression despite all the jedi warnings about it. There is a reason for those warning and she stood a little taller while at the ready now. "That is a dangrous attitude to have and one many who have fallen take because they believe they will be the one to do it and want to be special. It it was such a tool the jedi would not advise and teach to resist it. You can't stop emotions but you can have a place fr them."

Marcus shook his head as he strafed, closer and closer to her, his saber at the ready the entire time. He had read much of the Order's archives, believing that the fall of the Jedi over 1,000 years ago was due to selfish pride and foolishness when it came to emotions. No one can completely bury their emotions, not even the mystical Jedi. The Sith used aggression and passion as their defenses, while the Jedi tried to claim peace and serenity. There was nothing wrong with that, but turning off your emotions will only lead to the dark side. Marcus would have none of that. "I am not special in anyway. I am a Korun that survived both civil war and the powerful force of the dark side itself. To stand in the light, sometimes, we must waver in the darkness."

Once close enough, Marcus imbibed in the Force's abilities, becoming drunk on the power itself. His body tensing up and his reactions quickened, he released a large amount of attacks on Orihime, striking at her quickly and without relenting. Should she defend against his bold attacks, Marcus would end it with a quick butterfly kick backwards, attempting to disengage from the duel.

She listened and prepared watching him get close and attack while she let the force cascade over her and smiled. She had worked with her sister Reiko and Morgana who had taught her and she had a mother who was the lead in many circles for knowledge and needs. Her focus went to the blade as it reacted and collapsed with her hands shifting to hold it while she moved letting the force energies guide her movements while the blade spun in her hands. She blocked following as the force enhanced her reflexes and reaction times to the strikes. She looked at the kick coming in slow motion as he moved to disengage and tucked down rolling to the side while she pushed with the force to send herself away quicker.

The attacks were relentless, but Master Ike's defenses held true. The kick not striking its target, Marcus landed not far off from Ike's position. Utilizing the Force, she was able to propel herself away, also disengaging from the short fight. Twirling his saber in defense, Marcus continued to strafe around her, grinning as he watched her compose herself.

"You are very quick, I must admit." It was a quick jest, and Marcus made sure to smile to convey this. He was enjoying the spar thus far, and was curious what other abilities the young Padawan had up her sleeve.
