WEAKNESSES

• Range Finder: The Orion Class Escort Frigate lacks substantial long range firepower. Given its role within Diarchy fleet formations, the vessel is equipped primarily with close to medium range weaponry to help defend larger ships and deter any enemy break through attempts.

DESCRIPTION
Following the expansion of the Diarchy Naval resources, it was determined that a ship was needed to help defend the squadrons of Diarchy ships from fast moving enemy capital ships. The Orion Class Escort Frigate, taking inspiration from older Nebulon-B Frigates was designed to fill the role of picket and escort ship for larger Diarchy fleet elements. With heavy close range weaponry and fast engines, the Orion Class is capable of rapidly moving around Diarchy fleet groups to defend against enemy breakthrough attempts, or form a screening line for any approaching threat.
