PROJECT CHIMERA
After the destruction of the Brotherhood of the Maw, Admiral Orn'om of the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet worked closely with the GADF to eradicate Maw remnants and would-be copycat raiders from Chiss Space. Having garnered a reputation for his ruthless effectiveness in battle he won the respect of many officers in the Expansionary Defense Fleet. However, his battles inside of Chiss Space and the Expansionary Fleet's actions during the war had uprooted centuries of tradition. They now held most of the military power in the Ascendancy and operated freely within it, mostly out of necessity as the Defense Forces had gathered around the remnants of the Great Houses, or the new families poised to take up the roles left behind by the destruction of Csilla rather than the defense of their people still left across Ascendnacy space. With his influence by the end of the war however, not even the Defense Forces could push the Expansionary Fleet out of Chiss Space. Alongside the rest of the Expansionary Fleet he was guiding the Chiss down the only path he could see for redemption. He instituted Project Chimera, seeding Chiss operatives in as many institutions as he could across Alliance space and the Galaxy while proving to be an Ally of the Alliance by pushing for true Protectorate Status of the Chiss Ascendancy worlds, allowing his people crucial time to recover. When Chiss leaders disagreed with his plans he sent Nightdragons to silence them or sent them off to work hard labor on backwater Chiss worlds most harmed by the Maw. He was called a despot by those rich and powerful Chiss that had once abandoned his people, but to his people he was a Champion and a terror to keep the Galaxy away from the Chiss.

Born male and sensitive to the Force, he was already a rarity among the Chiss. Trained from a young age to be a Sky-Walker he showed the fruits of Project Ivant, retaining his Second and Third Sight well past puberty. At the age of fifteen he was given a choice. Join the Nightdragon Corps or join the Defense Force. He chose the former, training for the next five years of his life to become a Nightdragon. His acumen on the bridge of a warship and his patriotism landed him in one of the internal postings of a Nightdragon, a hidden plant within the Defense Force. He was planted as an Officer in the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet and for decades never revealed his powers.
BETRAYEDA RARE BREED
Chiss space had just come to terms with its new rule after a brief civil war. Throwing off the yoke of the One Sith and recovering from a genocide he joined the Expansionary Defense Fleet. However, the new Syndicure would prove just as self-centered as the last. Recalled to Csilla to defend their estates and interests much of the Chiss Defense Force was destroyed in the battle that would reduce the Chiss Homeworld to a debris field. The loss of both civilian life and military casualties was immense - all for what? With the Defense Force decimated the Expansionary Defense Fleet swooped in to pick up the pieces, forming the military basis of Chiss resistance in Maw occupied Chiss space.
FOR THE ALLIANCE?
Orn coordinated with Alliance personnel in the Chiss Theatre of the Second Great Hyperspace War. During this time he was further radicalized by the Ruling Family and Aristocra's inaction and in-fighting, all of them using the tragedy of Csilla to further their own political goals, often forgetting about the Chiss on colony worlds in favor of their floating symbols of power and government. The only thing the EDF and the Syndicure seemed to agree on was that Alliance aid would be imperative for their survival.
REBELLION
Orn along with several now prominent Nightdragons and commanders aided and led in a rebellion against the Empire, attempting to retake old Chiss worlds as well as Imperial worlds for their own colonization project as the war with the Maw went on and self determination for the Chiss became a question. The rebellion failed however and Orn was ordered back to Chiss space, he and his cohorts condemned by the Syndicure. Toothless in this era of strife however, he and most of his co-conspirators were able to retain their rank within the EDF.
CHIMERA
After the end of the Second Great Hyperspace War the EDF decided that it was imperative that the Chiss become more connected to the Galaxy. The Iron Empire, One Sith, the Brotherhood of the Maw, and even the Empire had all been existential threats to the Chiss way of life and their existence as a species. To the EDF it was irrefutable that their vulnerability came from their hubris and their inability to work with others. It also recognized that any of these groups could be a threat. As a result Orn'om, now a high ranking Admiral in the EDF established Project Chimera, a program to implant Chiss operatives into militaries, governments, and embassies across the Galaxy in order to foster good will towards the Chiss as well as, secretly, to collect information about their allies and potential enemies so that the Chiss were never again taken by surprise. In just a few decades nearly half of the Chiss population across the Galaxy had been eradicated. Already their people had become a diaspora. Orn'om would unite them in purpose, regardless of the wishes of the Syndics.
