Hailing from the first generation of the Youth of the Empire, Ortan educated at the Imperial Academy as an officer in the Stormtrooper Corps' 181st Legion. He was directly involved in several actions and campaigns which saw him showing quite the skill at leading and organising soldiers when in battle and soon rose to command his company. From there he showed the strong devotion one would expect from a Youth member towards the New Imperial Order. It was less of a hostile outward perspective, more a embracing inward one in which he valued order, stability and absence of Force users to take major political impact.
When 181st Legion was sent to garrison duty around a group of border worlds in the galactic North, sitting there, forgotten and enduring a serious incursion of Sith-Imperial rebels from outside the imperial borders. Days passed, months passed and with every skirmish more Stormtroopers lay dead. The Legion was slowly worn down all the while Ortan kept distinguished himself in command, its commander though remained passive and took the orders more literal, sitting on their asses. The young officer though decided to lead his troops to seek out the enemy, fighting them on their territory, rather than the own and defeated them.
Upon being recalled from duty due to losses and rotation, the original commander was relieved of command and young Ortan Tassar was promoted to Major General to now lead the replinishing 181st Legion who was due to their dwindling numbers on deployment called 'The Wraiths'.
