- Upon impact a micro-canister holding a small amount of Cryo-Ban shatters, spraying the small amount of the chemical on the target causing severe cold damage to any susceptible surface it comes into contact with.
- Extreme Cold: Cryo-Ban is a chemical that absorbs heat, creating an extreme level of cold in a given area. When the small amount of this substance housed within the bullet is released upon the round's impact, any tissues or other substances that come into contact with it will suffer from extreme cold to the point of having pieces of tissue freeze, causing intense pain and severe nerve damage and possible tissue death.
- Delicate: To ensure that the bullet that houses the Cryo-Ban shatters on impact, it is made with a relatively weak composite that is designed to shatter. Due to this, it is possible that excessive man-handling/jostling of the rounds could cause one of these bullets to shatter while still inside the magazine. At best, this might render the entire magazine useless, and at worst could set off a chain reaction that could severely damage the weapon it is in and potentially injure the weapon's user as well.
In an effort to curtail the growing threat posed by the Bryn'adul, scientists as Obsidian Star developed this Cryo-Ban Projectile Round in an attempt to provide the forces of the Silver Jedi a long ranged weapon that could exploit the weakness to cold that some species within the Bryn'adul suffer from. The 10mm round is almost completely encased in durasteel and contains two chambers. The first chamber, located at the back end of the round contains an explosive primer and black powder, which is used to propel the round when fired. The second and foremost chamber contains a bullet comprised of a weakened composite which houses a small amount of Cryo-Ban. Upon impact, the bullet shatters exposing the target to the chemical which causes extreme cold damage.
