Gi Gregain
Project Herald Super Soldier
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Designed at the request of one of the few surviving and successful Heralds. Gi wanted to use what they learned from the failures of her brothers and sisters to better improve their survivability. One of them was to reinforce the skin more. Their mechanical gills for water were great but the dangers of high pressure if they didn't have their armor was a problem... likewise the risk of vacuum was just as and so... the Osiris class implant was designed to harden the skin to survive for a limited time in hard vacuum. They can't walk around and would more or less die within minutes but with this they can try a last attempt to get back in or if they are spaced while getting into a suit have enough time to try and get it sealed. In underwater testing a depth of three kilometers with their skin exposed and no suit was able to last for five minutes even with their augmentations. Their increased lung capacity can allow them to hold their breath long enough but pressure will eventually cause them to become crushed.
- Intent: To create an upgrade for the Heralds of Veil Squadron
- Canon Link: N/A
- Permissions: My Subs
- Primary Source: Nanotechnology
- Manufacturer: Saotome Foundry
- Affiliation: Closed-Market
- Model: Cellular Implants
- Modularity: No
- Production: Limited
- Material: Nanites
- Designed to improve skin to survive in high pressures
- Nanite reinforced skin able to survive for five minutes in raw vacuum or high pressure environments
- While it does augment the skin it isn't going to last forever. The best tests in controlled environments have five minutes before exposure can result in death.
