- Sound Dampening materials - The Sentinel Armor Prototype body armor is constructed with body suit made from mass-loaded vinyl based fabrics that allow for a superb sound dampening effective when moving. In addition, specially constructed Beskar plates cover the suit and have been treated with a sound-dampening coating of Sorbothane, which is a "thermoset, polyether-based, polyurethane material with a superior damping coefficient," which allows the wearer to move quietly in a variety of environments while providing for a degree of protection from blasterfire and kinetic projectiles.
- Sound Dampening field - In addition to the sound-dampening materials that make up the suit, there exists a small sound dampening field generator in the suit's chest-plate. When activated, the dampening field prevents sound waves from being formed within in. This effect covers a small area in all directions of three meters around the suit's position. When activated, the wearer of the suit is essentially silent. This technology, however, is extremely draining to the suit's battery and can only be used for a total of 20 minutes before the suit will need to be recharged.
- Mask- The Jedi Temple Guard Mask has been outfitted with a miniaturized heads-up display which boasts night-vision and infrared options as well as a basic scanner that can detect, identify and track unmasked lifeforms within a fifty meter range. The mask also has a built in comlink and basic vox modulator.
- Plug-in ports - The suit also sports six plug-in power ports (two on the wrists, four on the chest plate), that allow for the user to plug in additional aftermarket Obsidian Star combat accessories (still in development) in order to enhance some of the suit's already present abilities or create new ones.
- Silent - the sound dampening materials, in conjunction with sound dampening field, make the wearer essentially silent for short periods of time.
- Excellent range of motion - this suit was designed to be very light to wear and provide excellent range of motion allowing the wearer to run, jump and climb with only minimal hindrance.
- Increased protection – This suit has increased levels of protection in virtually every way. This is due to the incorporation of Cortosis in the mass-loaded vinyl interweave which serves as the under-webbing for the tempered Beskar metal plates that make up the suit. This increases the suit’s ability to deflect both blaster and lightsaber strikes while maintaining the happy by-product of the suit's sound-dampening design to provide a high degree of protection from sonic based weaponry. Sound energy, weather passive or active (from weapons fire) is transferred into thermal energy and dissipated through the suit's power grid. In addition, the suit's internal circuitry has been insulated against EMP, ION and other forms of energy dampening attacks.
- Sub-par Kinetic protection – The design of the this favors stealth and maneuverability over protection. The introduction of Cortosis and Beskar have increased the suit’s ability to deflect or absorb energy based attacks exponentially. Unfortunately, since there are still several areas within the suit where projectiles and other forms of kinetic attacks can pass through. At the end of the day, this suit is designed for an operator to move quickly and quietly, not to stand up to prolonged directed fire.
Following the battle of Yurb, Beltran returned to Denon to convalesce and recuperate from the wounds he sustained fighting against the Bryn'adul tyrant Tathra Khaeus. During that time, he communed with his father's Holocron and studied the journal he found in the Kyber caves of Crispor. He would grow in his skill with the force as well as hone his skills with the lightsaber. He would also reflect on the triumphs and failures of that battle, and the many Antarian Rangers who died holding the line at the Shield Outpost. From this communion, he would begin work on a new set of armor, which would borrow from earlier prototypes and incorporate the Jedi Guard Mask he'd also found on Crispor. For him, the building of this armor would be akin to a Padawan building their first lightsaber. He would let the force work through him as he utilized Obsidian Star's extensive manufacturing capabilities to create a suit that melded Jedi tradition with state-of-the-art technology. This suit was designed to protect Beltran in future battles, but also to mark him as a Jedi Sentinel, charged with protecting the Order and those who relied upon it for safety.
