- Singularity bypasses most types of defenses.
- Very small 2 meter area of effect.
- Under-ranged shots can harm wielder or allies.
- Direct impact on un-fired grenades may trigger an early detonation.
- No secondary effects, concussion, fire, shrapnel, ect...
After initial acceleration by being fired from a coil launcher and clearing the barrel, the grenade is further propelled by gyrojets towards the target. Upon impact or airbursting at a range set by the launching weapon, the grenade triggers a micro-blast that ruptures the seed-like mine in its protective casing, creating a singularity field. These miniature black holes only last a fraction of a second but in that time consume everything in a 2 meter radius and can pull objects only partially enveloped further in.
These weapons are incredibly dangerous to both the wielder and those its used against and an accidental detonation can consume the wielder as well as those close by. That said, the protective casing protects against most impacts and jostling commonly encountered such as trips, falls, and indirect fire and even near-miss explosions. Even then, if under such fire, it’s recommended the wielder take the mag and throw it some distance away to be safe. Until it can be retrieved later.
