DESCRIPTION

The company Outland Solutions was founded by Citra Tarkin, and with her background in engineering, she designed the ships that would be used for the company's future business. Though when starting out she had to use subcontractors and later leased ships from vendors, there came a time when her designs could be taken out and examined, and funds put towards their production.

The Outland Courier has a long and wide profile, though a relatively limited height, which is a design choice that allows the vessel to pack in the power engines and shields required as well as concealed weapons batteries. The interior is made up of a luxurious crew deck and berths, as well as secure cargo holds large and small. Located on the outer hull are the concealed weapon ports, housing turbo lasers, as well as laser cannons. Here also are the tractor beams which are designed for securing cargo, but can also be used defensively. The ship's hull is protected by a powerful energy deflector shield to protect against energy and missile attack.

There are five overlapping decks. Deck one is the command deck, containing the command bridge and captains quarters, where all ship functions are centrally controlled by the ship's powerful AI; SHIP, under the Captain's direct control. Decks two four and five are cargo levels, with varying customizable layouts, able to be partitioned or kept open at need. Deck two differs from the others in that it contains several prison cells, as well as private vaults; hardened storage areas with extensive security, where deck four and five are for secure bulk cargo. Structurally, Deck One and Deck Three are located in the central core of the ship, while decks, Two, Four and Five extend throughout the ship.

All cargo is secured while in transit, with holocam and security droid monitoring on all levels. Internal security is airtight, with most areas kept decompressed when not in use, and the life support systems able to be flushed with anesthetic gas to any compartment at any time via the main bridge. Additional cells are available on Deck Two for transporting prisoners, with stasis chambers and restraints available to retain the most dangerous individuals for transport. Deck Two also houses the droid starfighters which can be deployed from their concealed bays on command.

Mostly isolated from the rest of the ship, Deck Three is the passenger deck, which contains the passenger lounge, passenger quarters, as well as the crew quarters, engineering and all other service areas of the ship. The public passenger lounge and the private passenger quarters sections are isolated from the rest of the ship, and the only areas unpatrolled by security. This section provides every luxury available in the galaxy to its clientele, with well appointed private suites, and a lounge with unparalleled views of space or hyperspace, providing any entertainments that might be desired. Anything one might find in a high class hotel on Coruscant.

Because of the company's reputation for transporting high value passengers and goods, it inevitably tempts the attention of space pirates and worse. This necessitates the Courier's excellent engines, hull, shields, and armaments. Despite the ship's bulk, the sublight engines possess extensive power, giving the ship solid speed and evasion. The shields are as high powered as the engines, and the hull is incredibly resilient in its own right. Coordinated with the ship's droid fighters and concealed weapons, as intended by design, the freighter can look after itself against anything fast enough to run it down.

Nicely made ship!
  • The Image source field is broken, I would like to ask you to add the image source link to the template (others usually put it under the art). Thank you for your understanding!
  • I would like to ask you to add the following parts to the template. These are not part of the pre-made fields but still important part of the template:
    • Hangar Space: (Please provide the amount of fighters/support craft this submission can hold in it's hangar by count of Squadrons, which hold 12 average Starfighters. The higher your squadron count, the lower your Armament and number of advanced systems should be. )
    50m [Base: 0 | Very Low: 0 | Low: 0 | Average: 0 | High: 0 | Very High: 0 | Extreme: 0 ]
    100m [Base: 0 | Very Low: 0 | Low: 0 | Average: 0 | High: 0 | Very High: 1 | Extreme: 2 ]
    200m [Base: 0 | Very Low: 0 | Low: 0 | Average: 1 | High: 2 | Very High: 3 | Extreme: 4 ]
    • Hangar Allocations: (This is the allocated amounts of starfighters and support craft (dropships, shuttles, gunships, etc) this submission can hold in its hangar based on the maximum hangar space capacity listed above)
      • Starfighters: x squadrons
      • Support Craft: x squadrons
    • Single Craft Hangar: (Does this ship have a hanger for a single fighter craft to be docked? Please choose either Yes or No. This field does not need to be taken into account when balancing but should be included in the strengths and weaknesses.)
Hyperdrive: (Does this ship have a hyperdrive? If this ship has a hyperdrive how fast is it? The lower the number, the faster the ship is, you may choose decimals. Any speed below 1.0 requires the hyperdrive to be added to the ship’s strengths and accordingly balanced with weaknesses. Links: Hyperdrive, Hyperdrive Comparisons)
