Outlaws

Oba Diah

This place was once a grand stronghold for the Pyke Syndicate, a powerful drug cartel group that had operations on Kessel and were responsible for the flow of spice throughout Coruscant many, many, many years ago. Long before the infamous conflict of the Clone Wars. Oba Diah was the uncontested fortress of the Pykes and most likely destroyed any signs of cartel rings establishing themselves on their world. That wasn't the case, however, as another faction came uninvited to the Kessel Sector.

The Jedi; or more specifically the Silver Jedi.

All because of those Force Wielding paladins the spice trade became much more expensive as smugglers raised their prices, the production of spice and drugs increased, and a whole lot of variables increased in their fees. It was a massive attack on drug cartels as a major source of their revenue was seized by the Silver Jedi. And Kessel wasn't enough as Oba Diah and other criminal enclaves were attacked. Therefore, the Pykes lost official dominance of Oba Diah which also allowed small time drug cartels establish themselves. Though there was much more violence as it was triple threat scenario. The Jedi, the Pykes, and other cartel rings fought against each other for territory.

Lok was, of course, against the Jedi but didn't affiliate himself with any of the other factions on Oba Diah. He did his own thing. He either temporarily joined a cartel group in payment of spice, credits, or whatever valuable currency, or he was his own man and had no safe corner for himself.

The Mandalorian dressed in his armor and armed with his weapons, walked about a haven contested by the Jedi, Pykes, and whatever criminal groups that wanted to stain their name but in the little area that he was in was safe from the heated conflict by the contenders. The streets were filled with scum and filth, and up ahead was a warehouse. He wasn't going to enter it, but hopefully encounter someone that sold spice.

No trouble he was looking for. Just a simple purchase of drugs.

In places like these it seemed you didn't have to be looking for trouble for it to, invariably, find you. Didn't have to go very far either. [member="Lok Munin"] was hardly a dozen meters from the entrance of the warehouse when the main doorway hissed open. For a moment there was nothing but an empty space beyond the gaping mouth, darkness inside, no movement, no sounds. Unusual for a place of major commerce, especially for a business as lucrative as spice.

Who would leave a door open and unguarded for a place like this?

Someone who had already been found by trouble.

There sounded a distant and sudden rumble from deeper within the warehouse - could have been anything really. Transports and freighter ships arrived on the hour to move product, probably just an engine backfiring.

But then it sounded again, louder this time.

And then out of nowhere a shadowy wisp of a person appeared through the doorway as if belched out onto the street. She hit the deck, face down and gauntleted hands covering her head as a third explosion rocked the foundation of the building. Smoke and fire billowed out through the doors behind her and she looked up over her shoulder, briefly, before scrambling to her feet and breaking into a run.

Straight for the unassuming young Mando.

"Stop! GET HER!" more people were pouring out of the warehouse doorway now, coughing and wiping soot from their faces, "I'll make it worth your while!" shouted the man to anyone nearby who would bother to take him up on his offer.

Just as he thought he was away from trouble and had a rare, unwanting mind of peace trouble found him. Explosives and shots fired out from the warehouse with smoke escaping from the windows, door entries, and whatever uncovered holes from the building.

And this was the exact type of magnitude for people to pullout their weapons and add more to the discord going around. It was the last thing Lok wanted to do; all he wanted was to make an "honest" purchase of spice and be on his merry way on making more trouble in this rotting place full of scum like he.

A shadowy figure came out of the main entrance of the burning warehouse with thugs chasing after her and calling her out, promising rewards if captured and delivered. Some of the folks didn't care as they had their own business to take care of, but Lok wouldn't mind taking a piece of female especially if she was running right for him making him believe that he was about to be robbed.

Lok would then pull out a blaster pistol and would shoot plasma bolts straight at the shadowy woman.

She was a bit distracted with sniggering over her shoulder at what would soon be a very large, smoldering hole in the ground to notice the Mando and his pistol. At least until he shot her in the arm.

Pirate yelped, head twisting back to snap wide green eyes on the offender, and lifted an arm to shield herself with the armor she was wearing while she ran.

"DON'T!"

PEW

"ACK - GO!"

She waved at him, dodging another bolt.

"GET-" PEW "DOWN!"

PEW

And then she plowed right into him with all the force of a runaway train, bowling him over into the ground. Two hands immediately grabbed at his front ... wherever they were able to make purchase on the tin can he wore, "STOP SHOOTING AT ME."

A tone went off from somewhere on her figure causing her to immediately drop the man and throw her hands over her head.

KABOOOOOOOOM

The entire warehouse facility behind them exploded.

The Outlaw had gotten good shots in the mysterious figure, but she kept on running right towards him. Was her pain tolerance very high? Was she a superhuman? Or a near human species that had some special species trait? Didn't matter to him. He wasn't deadly as his adopted father in taking on dangerous things, but he did have a good tricks up his sleeve.

But his tricks wouldn't come to any use as he was rammed over by the immense momentum of the woman and knocked him down to the ground. His head hit the flooring of the street which gave him an insignificant concussion which limited his hearing and bisons by a little. He could totally hear what the woman yelled at him before another intended explosion came from the warehouse.

The shockwave would kill many and leave a handful injured. There would be damage to neighboring buildings leaving them disfigured and scarred.

As for Lok and Blackthorne...well, as the woman was literally ok top of the Munin leaving her guard down when her hands covered her head the Mandalorian took the opportunity to roll over with the woman and reverse the tables.

"You blew up my spice!"

Wild green eyes shot a glare up at the man now on top of her. The woman scoffed, offended, behind her cowl.

"That's a funny way of thanking me for saving your life, mate," another massive explosion rocked the building behind them. Accompanied by the screams of people burning inside it was nothing short of a dandy Pirate's tune to a successful job. Blackthorne glanced at the man presently pinning her and gestured with a nod to the fiery hell she'd just created, "coulda been you in there -"

"Don't let her get away!" the man started coughing at the fumes presently filling the air.

"You should definitely not listen to him," Blackthorne shook her head and leaned up, "I can make it worth your while."

He was still upset about his spice being destroyed in flames by the female, and her words didn't ease him up. Even if he was still in there, he would've been killed by the fumes and the combustion of whatever explosives she used. But he wasn't which was good as he didn't plan on dying this young, but his mind was still angry about the spice that was all gone. Ever since the Silver Jedi occupied the Kessel Hex the price of spice increased for all buyers.

And with what the woman had done today, no doubt the price of spice would increase from whatever cartel that owned it.

However, that all could soon change when the woman proposed something to the Munin as she leaned in towards him. Was it worth it in comparison of turning her over for whatever grand prize the man could offer.

"You have one shot to convince me, and make it quick," the Outlaw said to the assailant looking pirate.

"I've got your fix," he couldn't see it but she was sneering, "right here in my pocket. Between I and you, it's way better than the sugar-dust these karkers were selling, and-" the Pirate leaned upward a bit more, brows disappearing behind the cowl covering her face, "the dealer's a friend of mine."

Pirate let herself plop back down on the ground, shifting slightly, getting real cozy-like.

"Take it or leave it, mate. Don't say I never gave you the chance."

Her offer was...more than tempting. He needed his daily fix of spice as his addiction would lead him to an awful withdrawal phase. Not to mention, he loved and craved it. It was part of him ever since he was just a youngin' in the Underworld of Coruscant.

"Deal," was Lok's response to the cloaked pirate and helped her to get up from the ground. He needed that spice. It wasn't a want. It was a need.

Besides he could always dump her with these gangsters and get some reward for it. He could, but he would see if that was necessary or not.

Blasters and slugs were fired upon the couple as they retreated from their pursuers. It would take time for them to catch up to them due to damage causing panic amongst them. And panic was the bane of being organized.

"You got a ship nearby? I don't wanna be chased by speeders later on."

That is if they could make it. If not, then they were in for some danger.
