- Production: Mass-Produced
- Material: Tolium, Cyphrite, Dallorian Alloy, Manganese-Plastoid Composite, Diatium, Neuranium, Electronics
SPECIAL FEATURES
- Module uses a mixture of Tolium and Cyphrite to create slow burning blaster bolts designed to deal more long-term damage.
- Can be toggled on and off.
- Compatible with most blaster models and easily concealed in blaster housing.
- Note: not compatible with other modifications that change blaster gas mixture.
- Module design blocks sensor scans to prevent it from being detected.
STRENGTHS
- Burning Sensation: The Sizzle module creates blaster bolts that burn and linger on contact, similar to incendiary weapons, causing deeper and longer term damage than standard bolts.
- Blending In: The Sizzle module uses scanner-resistant materials to make it virtually invisible on weapons scans and can be toggled off. This doesn't protect the rest of the weapon from scans, but it does prevent them from detecting the illegal infuser.
WEAKNESSES
- All Sizzle, No Steak: The Sizzle module doesn't actually increase the overall energy of blaster bolts, in fact it distributes the energy, so against hardened defenses blaster bolts will have significantly less power and penetration.
- Unconscionable: Due to the horrific nature of the injuries caused by the Sizzle module, it is illegal in most of the galaxy, and even in the less civilized corners is likely to get you judged for sheer cruelty.
DESCRIPTION
A top contender on the list of things-you-don't-want-to-get-hit-by, the Sizzle blaster module is a device designed to create special, slow burning blaster bolts. This works by combining
Tolium and
Cyphrite, which normally combine to create a powerful toxin, but when converted into a gas and electrically excited, creates unique plasma bolts that linger on anything they until they burn out after a few seconds. On exposed flesh or other vulnerable materials, this can create some truly deep and horrific wounds as the plasma eats through the impacted surface. At the same time this module doesn't increase the energy or heat of the shots, it only distributes them across a longer period, so against armor or other heat-resistant surfaces the damage is actually worse than regular blaster fire.
In order to hide this extremely illegal and suspect mod from prying eyes, the Sizzle module comes with scanner protection and a toggle mode to switch on and off. Of course this doesn't hide the surrounding weapon, and if anyone with honest (or vengeful) intentions catches you with this mod in your blaster, you'll be in serious trouble. But then again, considering what the Sizzle module can do to flesh, they might just decide to leave better off alone.
