STANDARD FEATURES
  • Designed around the Starscream-9 Ion Drive, this ship has exceptionally good performance. It can turn and burn with the best of ships, and with the right pilot can outfly almost anyone.
  • Navigation level deflector shields allow it to maneuver through most types of space and aerial environments without sacrificing speed or safety. These offer good protection against debris, gases, and other harmful environmental hazards to the craft while also offering a little protection against laser cannon fire.
  • Full cockpit ejection system allows for pilots and weapons officers to detach the cockpit safely away from exploding ordinance and the rest of the craft in case of an emergency. Has also been designed to float in the case of water landings, serving as a makeshift life raft.
  • S-foils allow the pilot to crank out engines to maximum output without worrying about heat, making this bomber exceptionally fast compared to most craft.
  • Full sensors package and a standard communication suite allows the pilots of this craft to scan for most types of readings allowing the ship to act as a scout.
  • Primary weapon system is a single laser cannon. This is backed with the capability to attach two missiles to the craft's fuselage to enhance lethality in fights, or a single proton torpedo to give it the ability to attack capital ships. All weapons are slaved to the pilot's controls.
ADVANCED SYSTEMS
  • Cockpit comes with full life support suite, allowing both for life support through a suit worn by the pilot, or maintained strictly inside the cockpit. This life support system also accommodates G-Suits, allowing more much tighter maneuvers and higher maintained speeds by pilots.
  • Laser cannon is gimbal mounted on the underside of the star fighter, allowing the weapon to shoot off bore at either chased or oncoming targets. This gives the pilot greater flexibility when going into dogfights, allowing them to not have to turn as tight while still getting a good shooting solution.
  • Ship computer has settings that can take over in case of pilot unconsciousness, allowing for an auto-pilot to get the pilot to safety in case of an emergency. This also can limit the ship's maneuvers to ensure the pilot can not accidentally induce said emergency by going into a turn too hard. This safety feature can however be disabled if necessary by either the pilot or ground crews.
STRENGTHS
  • It's got the frame of a racer: This ship is built for speed and acrobatics. Exceptionally fast and highly maneuverable, this vessel uses speed both as its strongest weapon, and greatest defense. In the general market for fighter craft, there are none that can compete with her, and still be considered safe. So if you want speed, this is your ship.
  • Safety first: This ship also has plenty of survival tricks up its sleeve, from the full cockpit ejection, to the life support systems, light deflector shields, and the frame built from Phrik-B with an alusteel skin. To put it simply, its a very hardy vessel, built to be reliable and see it through most austere environments.
WEAKNESSES
  • Light on the armor: This ship doesn't have a strong deflector at all, and also has very minimalist armor plating to ensure that it is fast. Unfortunately that means that it can't take many hits. So if you're flying one, make sure that you keep track of everything that's coming at you, and never let off the gas.
  • Light on the weapons too: This ship isn't a heavy attack bomber, nor a ground attack craft. If this ship is going up against any kind of capital class vessels, it needs one of two things. Either bomber support, or numbers with additional proton torpedoes. It's meant for space superiority against other small craft, not destroying Star Destroyers and making fleet admirals cry. Unless it's because you continually harass the enemy and destroy their fighters, it's not going to be the best ship for the job.
DESCRIPTION
Looking to expand back into the star fighter market, Kuat Drive Yards recommissioned their subsidiary Kuat Systems Engineering to begin work on a new line of vessels for small craft market. The second craft they produced, intended for small militias and planetary defense forces looking to start up a star fighter corps on the cheap, was a huge success. The Oxus Strike Fighter came onto the market making a name for itself in two things, speed and cost effectiveness. This ship was well built when it came from KSE, requiring minimal maintenance and upkeep while also being a fast and adaptable fighter craft for a variety of roles. It could patrol, fight, or even scout as its speed and reliance on maneuverability made it a capable craft. This also makes it a deadly dogfighter, as while other craft may have more weapons and armor, it won't matter if they can't shake or hit the craft they're fighting against. And at a very reasonable price tag, this ship delivers, finding itself among planetary militias, private security forces, or even pirates having acquired more than a few through either purchases or "involuntary donations". Regardless of how they were acquired, these ships are well worth whatever you paid for them.
