SPECIAL FEATURES
Adjust pain levels
Adjust sensation of tempreture
Uses Deda-Net as its core software
Can seamlessly connect to other Cyberware connected to the body
STRENGTHS
- Allows the user to adjust the levels of pain their body can feel allowing them to continue with tasks without discomfort. The sensation of pain can also be completely turned off.
- Allows the user to adjust the sensations of temperature. The sensation of tempreture can also be completely turned off.
WEAKNESSES
- When dulling the sensations of pain the body will not be able to register how much damage a person has taken. This can lead to a higher chance of doing considerably more damage to ones self or even not realizing that wound is fatal.
- Same with pain in some instances temperature sensation being dulled can cause to heatstroke or hypothermia.
DESCRIPTION
The PA-1N Immune System Cyberware is an internal cybernetic that connects up to the users lateral spinothalamic tract at the base of the spine. This small device allows an individual to adjust the output of pain and temperature experienced. When working hazardous jobs, may it be industrial or combat related injuries, pain comes with the territory so being able to chance pain and temperature levels can be quite a blessing. However it is a double edge sword, while you may be able to proceed with lowered or without sensation it means the individual can underestimate the damage or situation the body is suffering with. It is for this reason all Cyberdoc's must advise the customer that turning all sensations of pain off could increase mortality rate by 20% or higher depending the amount of time it is set to filter most or all. While the sensations cause discomfort they are also an important biological reaction that passively teaches people that action or event is a hazard. The longer left running the less an individual will passively learn the risks of their actions.
Another benefit to the PA-1N Immune System Cyberware is it opens up a whole world to those who have allergies to anesthetics. In a medical situation the ability to turn pain off could also be something that can save ones life by preventing the patient from going into Neurogenic Shock. It can also be used to aid those with chronic pain that can be debilitating.
Note: Dulling pain does not mitigate damage taken, a blaster shot, for example, will skill kill or cause serious damage.
