Pack your bags, we're leaving

The time had finally come. It was now time for the Orion Corporation to move from Anaxes to the Galactic Republic capital of Chazwa. Unfortunately this was said easier than done; hundred thousands tons worth machinery would have to be moved halfway across the Galaxy to the new facility while avoiding pirates and anybody else who wanted to interfere. The reasoning behind this move was due to the One Sith now controlling the planet. Jaccer Ramirez, the CEO of the Orion Corporation, simple did not feel safe with his the HQ and the main manufacturing location of the company on a One Sith world. If those in control were to find out Jaccer's connection to the Galactic Republic Military and the fact he was supple weaponry and armour to them, they would undoubtedly seize the company's assets and Jaccer up for trial.

This operation was too large for the Orion Corporation to preform on their own. Instead they would trust the majority of the cargo and heavy equipment to another company. The third party being brought in was Justice Shipping Ltd. From what Jaccer had heard the CEO, James Justice Ltd, helped the Galactic Republic on occasion and could therefore was more trustworthy than many of the other companies. Justice Shipping also guaranteed some of the most reliable and safe routes to the location, which was very much desired as the equipment that was to be moved was very valuable to the Orion Corporation.

As of so far neither James Justice himself or a representative of Justice Shipping Ltd had showed up to direct the operation. However this did not worry Jaccer as the operation was not due to begin for another hour and his workers had not finished packing the equipment into the large cargo containers. This was a large scale operation in comparison to what the Orion Corporation was used, this caused them to be slightly unorganised and to be behind schedule, but hopefully when Justice Shipping showed up they would be able lend a hand.

"Inform me when someone from Justice Shipping Ltd comes," the CEO would say to his assistant, "I'm going inside." The weather outside was pouring with rain and Jaccer wouldn't stand there to get soaked when there was a perfectly dry, heated office building walking distance away.

James was running a little behind this time. Even thought he was known for many vices, the spacer had earned a reputation for punctuality--allbeit this was generally offset for his reputation of being drunk.

What could he say? His--er--goodbyes to Anara this morning had taken longer than he had anticipated. The petite redhead had been so consuming in his life and he loved every bit of it.

The "Forgotten King" James' second favorite ship and light freighter pulled out of hyperspace and began a decent to Chazwa. Behind it a fleet of heavy freighters of various design and abuse trailed to the base. Every shop had aboard it a false ID transponder, one that would keep the sith and the Republic both fooled. James wasn't one to take chances.

At last the fleet landed and a mass of organic and robotic workers descended from the ships to work. Many were poor, former slaves that the spacer had rescued or found and hired on. Either way, James was willing to offer them a chance at a real life. The lay workers got to work and James waltzed into Jaccer's office and gave the man a smile, offering his hand, "Allo, mate. Good to see ye in person at last."

"Ah, good to see you as well." Jaccer would reply as he grasped James' hand with his firm grasp. After a brief shake he would release his hold and continue talking, "Please, take a seat. I trust your journey was free of any complications from the One Sith. Security is tight around here, expectationally since the recent rise of the Galactic Alliance." The office Jaccer and now James were located in was rich with white decor and strange pieces of modern art. The soldier-turned-CEO, who was used to a dirty and rough lifestyle of a member of the military, hated it to say the least. He was meant to be getting a team of interior decorators to preform a complete redo of the room but with the move now in progress it seemed unnecessary.

Both Justice Shipping Ltd workers and Orion Corporation workers could be seen loading and preparing the cargo from the grand wall window overlooking the landing areas. The image was slightly blurred from the constant rain impacting the glass wall. "I very much appreciate your help with this operation. Unfortunately we have neither the equipment or experience for a job of this scale."

So far no funds had been transferred to Justice Shipping Ltd and Jaccer was hoping to confirm how much credits this would take from the CEO of the company himself. "Shall we go over the costs of this operation again? Just to avoid any confusion or bad blood between our Justice Shipping and the Orion Corporation."

James fished a cigarette from his pocket and began to light it as he listened. He offered one to his employer/co-worker at the time. He sucked in a heavy stream of the sweet-smelling smoke as he listened, nodding.

"Well, mate ye came to the right person," he said with a smile, his words laced with the smoke from his breath. "We do, after all move things for a living, eh?" he chuckled before taking a second puff on his cigarette, "I would say it depends on how much overtime I have pay the lads. I would think," he bounced a few numbers in his head before giving an answer, "seven million should cover expenses; fuel being what it is, and, of course, the unions with their," he waved his hand, "ilk."

The spacer shifted his weight, "Does that sound reasonable enough to ye, mate?"

"No thanks, I don't smoke. I have enough bad habits as it is." Jaccer would reply in response to James' offering.

To anybody not directly involved with this project the cost would seem extremely high. Even to Jaccer, who didn't know much about the shipping trade, knew that this was a reasonable amount considering the shear amount of cargo being transported. With the galatic war causing business to boom for the Orion Corporation this price could be easily afforded.

"That seems reasonable to me." There would be a brief pause before Jaccer continued, "You know what, if you can get my cargo to Chazwa without incident I will throw in an extra million credits. You know, for good faith." Having Justice Shipping Ltd as an ally could prove to be valuable asset to the Orion Corporation; the galaxy was a dangerous place after all and James' expansive fleet, which Jaccer had heard of on multiple occasions, could used and hired for future operations. Hopefully a mutual agreement could be reached sometime in the future which would aid both companies. But until something like that was secured it would be best for Jaccer to keep James as an ally.

James gave a soft nod of approval, it was an unneeded incentive, but it was a good incentive all the same. He had a history of being able to get things where he wanted, when he wanted, regardless of who stood in his way. It wasn't that he would punch through them, though he could easily do that, it was that James was cunning, crafty, and had a sliver tongue with few equals. All the same, he would gladly take an extra million for an easy job without a hiccup.

"I like the way ye do business, mate," James said extending his hand. "Ye have a deal, sir."

After they shook, the spacer went down to oversee his business. After all, a good foreman did his work, and a good CEO worked for his money.

A few hours later the work was done, all the gear and machinery was packed up, the ships were loaded and the deckhands were on their way, filing into the ships. James was a bit surprised that they had managed to fit it all in. Granted the ships would be slower now, carrying a heavy haul like this, but, of course, that was what they were designed for.

"Alright, mate, let's move 'er out!" James shouted climbing aboard his Forgotten King.

A few moments later the King was climbing through the atmosphere, into orbit.

With a few presses of his fingers, James sent the route and co-ordinates to their ships. Oh it was a side route, an old one, and one that most didn't know of. But, then again, old smugglers had to keep their secrets together, and close to their chest.

Once again Jaccer would grab James's hand, sealing the deal between the two. It was good that his business partner took the offer, not that anybody wouldn't; an extra million credits would be more than welcome in Jaccer's pockets any day.

After James had exited the room, presumably to oversee the operation happening on the ground, Ramirez would soon get up from his desk and follow. The CEO of the Orion Corporation would not follow his cargo, instead he would be taking his own ship and travel to Chazwa using a quicker and more direct route. The plan was to get to the planet before the fleet of ships had arrived to confirm the plans with planet's administration. A haul of this size and with so many ships involved would not go unnoticed by the security in the area.

As Jaccer boarded his private ship, he would open a comm link with James, who was still preparing for take off. "I don't know what secret smuggler route you're taking so I don't know who'll get there first, but nevertheless, meet you at Chazwa." As this conversation was proceeding, Jaccer's ship would rise to the outer atmosphere of the planet before jumping into hyperspace.

James chuckled, "Aye, mate, see ye when we go dirt-side."

The spacer's route was uneventful, and that was for the better. In the days long past of the pre-repulic, a path had been charted centered around a nebula of what had once been a star. Sadly, this star had long been destroyed after it imploded, the cause was still unknown. Many of the charts had long since lost this planet and routes passing through it and to it. But the Smugglers, they never forgot. They always remembered.

Going a bit off the beaten path, smuggler families handed this secret down from fathers to sons, which was where James had learned it. Long-lost paths like these were the key to getting past a blockade or around a pirate smudge and gratefully, this one didn't take but a few minutes longer to calibrate and move to the next jump point. Some could take hours or days longer.

What did James do to pass the time as he traveled through hyperspace? His general things; paperwork, drinking, smoking, drkinking sleeping, drinking, designing new ships, and more drinking.

At last he was awoken as his fleet reached Chazwa. James gladly pulled the Forgotten King out of hyperspace and switched its transponder over to a false id. His fleet of course would do the same. It never hurt to be too careful, after all, since the Roche Incident.....

During the hyperspace voyage to Chazwa, Jaccer would enjoy the luxuries of life. His private yacht would contain all the features a multimillion credit yacht should. Jaccer's favourite aspect of the ship, the mini bar, had been abused and ransacked by the CEO. Much like the Justice Shipping fleet, Jaccer's journey was uneventful but did take considerably less time.

With time to spare before the cargo fleet arrived, Jaccer would clear the fleet with the planet's security. Using his Galactic Republic military rank proved to speed up the process considerably. It didn't take long for the massive fleet to be cleared to make landfall at the new Orion Corporation facility. Now they were only waiting for the Justice Shipping fleet to arrive.

The navigator of the yacht would gain the attention of Jaccer when James' fleet had decelerated from hypersapce and were now in orbit around the planet. Once again the comm link between the two ships would activated. "I have cleared the fleet with the system security. I will read out the coordinates for the final destination." There would a pause before Jaccer read the coordinates to James. As the fleet would begin to make landfall, the finicial adviser of the Orion Corporation would be given the word to transfer the credits to the Justice Shipping's account. "All eight million credits are being wired to your account now."

James followed the co-ordinates with the skills of a seasoned professional. A professional who drives with one hand on the yoke, a bottle in one hand, a cigarette between his lips, and his eyes off the viewport most of the time. That was how he flew, yo, distracted drive 100% of the way.

His King set down on the facility first, followed by his armada of freighters. Satisifed, he stepped off the loading ramp and began overseeing the unloading of the machinery. If he was going to do this, he had to do it right, after all. He was a professional, not some amateur. It took a few hours but, he was earning his pay. And that was what his dad would be proud of. Dad. Funny, James hadn't thought of him in quite a while. It almost made him stop for a second.

Night had fallen by the time James had finished. He, as well as his crew were ready to sample the local night life. The checks had been issued and they were on a brief dirt-side leave. And with that, he disappeared into the night, ready to sample the local alcohol and win at all the drinking games......

Jaccer's yacht would not follow the freighters to the facility. Although he would've liked to help with the final stage of this operation, he knew he would be near useless and would most likely just get in the way. Instead he would be attending an important military briefing about the future of the Republic or a topic of the sort.

Once the brief had finished, Jaccer was met the darkness of night. It was weird how a meeting in an enclosed, underground military station caused you to lose track of time. As soon as the many officers had finished consuming more of the Majors time, he would head straight to his yacht and set course for the new Orion Corporation. It was a pleasant surprise to find that all the equipment had been unloaded and presumably installed inside the new building. Justice Shipping had definitely provided the quality of service they had guaranteed.

No Justice Shipping workers were still present on the site, but their ships were still in the landing zone. It didn't seem that Jaccer would confer with James again on this day. Perhaps Jaccer would never meet James Justice again, it was always hard to tell with wildcards like him.
