Packing Up Is Hard to Do

Kay-Larr

Sphaera Tea Company Owner
Sadness. That's what she felt. Kay sat at the desk in her office on Commenor for the last time. She had to go to the Supreme Chancellor with her resignation. Of course she knew this would happen sooner or later, but had hoped for the latter.

There wasn't much for her to pack, just a few sets of clothes. Her K1 droid, Mrs. Nesbitt rolled in with a cup of tea at the ready, as well as a tissue. She hadn't yet outfitted her droid with a vocal box to speak basic, but will do in time, when she could afford it. "Thank you, Mrs. Nesbitt. I appreciate it." The droid beeped and whistled as Kay sipped her tea, causing her to look to her datapad for the translation. "No, I don't know where we'll be going to live yet. First we have to go to the Capital and hand this over to the Supreme Chancellor. After that? I'm sure that [member="James Justice"] has a place for us somewhere to use for a little while. He might get offended if we don't ask him first."

She wiped at her eyes a bit with the tissue and then had another sip of her tea. She still kept her Force signature small as she had no intention of making it public. She just wanted to go out quietly. That was the safest way and the better way for the Republic.

"It's amazing how little the people of the Republic trust Force Users, huh." The all too familiar voice echoed out from behind [member="Lady Kay"] . Darth Ferus stepped in calmly from the window he had opened, offering a quick nod to the woman. Getting here.. Was a trip, yes. A climb, to be specific. No need to go into too much detail about how he got here, the point was the Sith had. He smiled that oddly white toothed smile, and motioned to a nearby chair.

"We haven't talked in quite some time, Lady Kay. How about we start catching up?"

That voice sent a chill down her spine and she nearly dropped her tea. Kay sat there almost frozen in place. The last time that they met, [member="Mantic Dorn"] had attacked [member="Darth Ferus"] which left the Jedi Master quite injured. But she did her best to help the Jedi, even though he had her taken into custody for hiding her Force sensitivity and thereby breaking the law. And now here he was, in her office. Maybe she should have left a day sooner.

Mrs. Nesbitt rolled into place in between them, almost as if it was protecting her from the Sith Lord. "Ferus...M'Lord I heard rumours that you were dead..." Kay wanted to keep the focus of the topic on him for the time being. "Mrs. Nesbitt, please give our guest some tea." Almost hesitantly, the droid produced a cup of tea and rolled up to the Sith Lord with it.

"Tales of my demise are often exaggerated. When you hear of my death, know that I'm still around, somewhere. Or maybe I've finally kicked the bucket, but I doubt that." The droid would receive a smile as the Sith took the tea. He would sip at the steaming liquid. It was good, for being brewed by a droid. He would sit down then, nodding once again. "I hear you're kicked out of the Senate. Such a sad thing, knowing that the Republic truly do distrust folks like us. What do you plan to do now, M'lady?"

Again he was being nice. Yet after their last encounter, she still kept herself on edge. She had a sip of her tea while Mrs. Nesbitt rolled back to be by her side. Kay turned off her datapad and slipped it into her satchel."Yes well, I broke the law...I can understand their reservations concerning Force users in the Senate. I don't fully agree with it, but the majority rules. So I quietly resigned..." She took another sip of her tea as she thought his question over. "As far as what I plan to do...I don't know. Many friends and allies have offered me places to stay, both in and out of Republic space. I will probably decide on which later this evening."

He was here for something. Did he come here to gloat? To tell her that the Republic was bad, as others have done? "What brings you here, M'Lord?"

[member="Darth Ferus"]

"I do hope you plan to keep in touch." For reasons. He wasn't about to say of course. He continued to sip as his tea, his eyes trailing out to the window he had climbed. She had a wonderful view. "I hope you realize violence isn't my first choice in all situations. That time, back with.. Master Dorn right? He attacked first, not me. I simply defended myself as I was taught, by removing threats. I apologize for his death, I would have liked to avoid it." Of course, the Sith didn't know the Master was alive and well.

"I know...I remember. He dud attack you first. But you just appeared out of nowhere and attempted to kidnap us. You didn't have to react so harshly. If I had known that either of you would have started fighting, then I would have gotten between you sooner." Kay looked down to her tea. If he thought that Mantic was dead, then that could keep the Jedi Master safe. Hopefully.

What was [member="Darth Ferus"] here for? He wanted something, but she couldn't figure out what that was. "I'm sorry that I couldn't get you the information that you wanted, M'Lord."
