Padawan Outing

It has come to my attention that some of our Padawans have yet to find a Master. It has also come to my attention that the encroaching Darkness is beginning to affect morale. In an effort to alleviate both of these ailments, I would like to propose an outing...to Nar Shaddaa!

We are defenders of the Galaxy, and as such we need to be able to adapt to a wide variety of environments. This outing would serve the purpose of adding some "street smarts" to the arsenal of our younger generation.

So. Who's interested in getting their hands dirty?

Is it frowned upon for Jedi of the Republic to hunt bounties (assuming they are legitimately against Dark/"Bad" people and we take the "Alive" option.)

In a sense I never thought about it. Jedi have no need for money. The Code is clear:

Conquer Materialism
Jedi were forbidden from keeping more that a few essential belongings.


As for bounties? If one was collected and the money handed over to a local charity that would make sense.

Don't forget:

Honour the Law
No Jedi is above the law and was obliged to follow the local law on the planet they were on (bear in mind this is not a Republic planet you are visiting). The Republic's relationship with the Red Ravens is at best neutral. So you mustn't break any laws.

And a Jedi uses the Force for knowledge and defence only.

But the Jedi is also expected to protect the weak and defenceless.

So...with all that in mind, go and have fun

The purpose of bringing Padawans on a "Bounty Hunt" is to inspire quick thinking/resourcefulness. It is also to give them a new terrain to get comfortable navigating.

Any proceeds, of course, would not be taken for personal use and would be donated. (Although I can't promise not to treat them to puffcakes.)
