The idea behind it is Asher being in training with his Master, whom is useless in a fight, then they sense a deep darkness manipulating the Force. Other than that, making it up with the aid of you players. Who, what, and why are all still up for grabs.

I'm in on the Jedi side, unless you guys are Pub Jedi.... In which case he might feel duty-bound to come and smash you a bit with his Bloodtooth.

Asher is part of the Pub, but not wholy, simply staying with them to bring himself to the light. He should be a dark Jedi but he fights the darkness and refuses to use it any longer. Same with his NPC master. So you could help, or not as he was contacting the Council for reinforcements.

Unless you want to say you were nearby when it began, so dont even realize he works with them.

"Nearby when it began" would be more conducive to Asher's health, I think. Zatten really doesn't like Republic Jedi. They attacked his mom on Zeltros.
