Palace of Ascensions
Mandalorian Empire & Chiss Ascendancy Diplomacy
Sundari City, Mandalore

The diffuse light of the biodome cast a golden glow upon the statues and murals holding firm the Sundari Palace. Standing in the throne room, with the light cast through the bank of floor to ceiling windows, Mand’alor the Infernal thought back to the past five years, since her twins were born. Since Eshan.

Could the Civil War been near a decade ago? Gone was the overwhelming adolescence of her earlier reign. Gone was the struggle against feared forces, who continually despite Mandalorian bark and bite, offered their hand of friendship. The Sith Emperor was patient, as his council was patient. He offered friendship calmly, with the same flair of their earlier meetings, and without condemnation. A deal with the Sith Empire signed.

How did the days turn in such fashion? Behind her, the round table was being set with equal chairs and goblets, a feast of Mandalorian fare made specifically to cater to Chiss diet and physiology, matched with food for others. The meal? Demands of the Hetikles Baatir, who made it their duty to ensure all events Mandalorian held at least one good feast. It was, after all, their act of worship to Kad Haran’gir and in a much lesser extent as one who speaks for Manda, the Mand’alor. When eight foot tall bipedal warrior lizards demand to cook, one usually was most sensible in allowing them.

Dressed in her Infernal armour, the towering Epicanthix let the HUD scan in a 360 pattern so she could see the preparations finished up. Folk busied round, children packed off by nannies and tutors elsewhere in the Palace. [member="Ambrose Cadera"] and her loyal guards peppered round the space. She scanned round again to see when [member="Skorvek"], [member="Cynthia Solus"], [member="Cassiopeia Australis"], [member="Valdus Bral"], a selection of her Mandalorians would arrive. Sundari buzzed round, a lively city full of economic progress and military standing. The desert jewel of Manda’yaim, complete in its’ rebirth from the misfortune of the now dimmed history of the Second Mandalorian Excision. Beskar’gam was everywhere, as were speeders and hoverbikes, towers full of people from across the Empire built from the post-volcanic scraps of Yasha’s inhumane militant childhood.

The landing pad for the Chiss Ascendancy shuttle was attached to the wide porch Yasha looked onto now, before the wolf-helm and its’ HUD showed her the throne room’s vaulted graces in its’ prepared and finished state.

All was ready.

The Chiss would arrive soon, and be greeted by the grey-cloaked, gold and black armour of Mand’alor the Infernal.

Valdus Bral

️ Clan Bral Alor ️| Warlord of Nellogant
Loud, clanking steps could be heard long before the source of them were heard. Soon the clanking was joined by the sound of humming motors. What came around the corner was a Mandalorian who rivaled the size of a Wookie, but was double the width at the shoulders. His black armor was worn bare at some points showing the light gray Beskar beneath. There was a stark contrast between the beat-up surfaces of his armor and the golden trim and etchings that decorated the edges. The most striking feature, especially in this light, would be his giant shield. One could mistake it as half of a blast door if it were not for the golden trim and the Bral clan Mythosaur sigil which reflected the light like a dulled golden mirror. Valdus was flanked by two Mandalorian Advance Guard Sergeants who bore the same Mythosaur as his shield. The shield cast a bright gold patch of light on the window frames as he took his place near the spot the negotiations would be held; the flanking Sergeants taking their place several paces behind Valdus.

One could argue that you do not show up to initial negotiations armored like a tank and with two elite soldiers, but Valdus would meet your argument with a stern helmet turn and silence. Valdus had been briefed on what would be taking place; the first contact between the upstart Chiss Ascendancy and the Clans of Mandalore. Valdus was not one for idle talk and politicking, but he would attend the proceedings if only to show support for those that were selected to head this negotiation. Was he trying to make a show of power for the new arrivals? It was possible, but it was also possible he simply did not trust those who he had never met before, emissaries or not.

MANDALORE SYSTEM

Sundari City; Mandalore.
The Vesci, one of the larger vessels in the CEDF, was the only ship to arrive from the Chiss Ascendancy above the planet Mandalore. Commanded by Admiral Mitth'orn'eruod, it was a powerful battlecruiser, but certainly showing an element of restraint in that it lacked an accompanying fleet. That wasn't to say the Chiss were overconfident in the proceedings about to take place, they had other Ascendancy vessels within reach and security in place should the worst occur, but Mitth'orn'eruod felt bringing overbearing numbers to a diplomatic meeting was unnecessary. The Vesci did exactly that - a balance of power and restraint - a show to the Mandalorians that the Chiss wielded starships capable of immense destruction, but also had the sensibility to utilize it when appropriate. Whether the message reached the intended audience remained to be seen.

Nonetheless, the delegation for the Chiss were prepared and boarded on a transport shuttle. Admiral Mitth'orn'eruod would attend, leaving his subordinate on the bridge to facilitate any actions required, but for this event others would be taking the fore in diplomatic relations. While familiar with some of the individuals on the shuttle, if only their family names, Mitth'orn'eruod couldn't help but glance to a recently appointed Aristocra of House Lore, Prusde'zoti'lore, a young Chiss female with an interesting background. Largely redacted or outright withheld from public knowledge, her history was known to few; fortunately Mitth'orn'eruod was one of those number, his rank within the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet being providing him with clearance required to know most military matters.

Another delegate was far more familiar to Mitth'orn'eruod, as he glanced toward Brask'ari'sabosen, acting as diplomatic Ambassador of House Sabosen. The pair were quite friendly, having gotten to know the other better during a brief vacation from service, along with a majority of the military force of the Ascendancy, which had proven pleasant for the Admiral. While there remained potential for further relations, the present wasn't the time to ponder such things, so Mitth'orn'eruod simply nodded with a smile, before returning to the task at hand.

The shuttle descended through the atmosphere, offering the Chiss a nice and informative view of the city below. Mitth'orn'eruod took note of the structures, the layout of Sundari City, the population traffic and various other details. They might be important later, so it was prudent to absorb as much as possible. Soon enough, the delegates were touching down on the landing platform of Sundari Palace, the shuttle struts barely making a sound as weight shifted with deactivated repulsors. There was several moments as those within the transport unfastened and prepared, before the rampway lowered and the Chiss stepped out onto the platform.

Mitth'orn'eruod wore his usual attire, namely his pressed black fleet uniform that had red piping across collar and sleeves. His red eyes observed the distant figure waiting for them, the armor easily identifiable by appearance alone, as the Admiral looked to the Aristocra Prusde'zoti'lore. It would be interesting to see how she did, Mitth'orn'eruod containing a smirk easily enough, as he fell into line and walked with the procession...

It feels odd, not being the one to introduce the delegation.

As the Chiss shuttle broke through the lower atmosphere of Mandalore, a brief musing of Ari's only time in and around a Mandalorian came to mind. It had been during the First Order-Galactic Alliance Border War when the Chief Medical Officer was serving with the FIMS.

At the Battle of Mustafar, a critically wounded Imperial stormtrooper had been evac'd to the battle surgeon's medical frigate stationed at the edge of the battle zone. It had been a Mando doctor working with a non-political humanitarian aid group who had stabilized the near-dead patient in the field, then airlifted the high ranking officer with the FIST to higher care immediately. The initial skilled care had allowed Brask'ari'sabosen the precious time needed to further save the man's life. She proceeded to give the Army Colonel a dual cybernetic organ transplant with an appreciative result. Ari hoped the positive experience would be the same here in the diplomatic dealings with the Clans of Mandalore that the Chiss Ascendancy delegation would meet with today. One could hope any way or this would be a short negotiation for peace and good will.

Brask'ari'sabosn stood from her seat after the shuttle had landed at the Mandalorian palace and smoothed over her ambassadorial robes in the Sabosen family color of rust red representing the major Ruling House with white accents to show her diplomatic status. The Doctor met Mitth'orn'eruod's crimson gaze briefly and retuned a small smile the man's way with a slight cant of her dark head, then followed the CEDF Admiral, and newly appointed Aristocra of House Lore down the landing ramp in a possessional towards the greeting faction awaiting them.

Ari did not know Prusde'zoti'lore that well, but liked what she knew of the arms dealer so far... well except for the young Chiss' choice in attire. The conservative Sabosen did not approve of such sensualness in an important affairs of state such as this or really anytime in public. It was only for private and definitely not diplomacy of this kind. Time would only tell how the Chiss woman would perform as a leader on the diplomatic stage.

"This'll go well, hopefully." Aboard the shuttle the newly appointed Aristocra sat on her own, idly cleaning the heavy blaster she had refused to set down even after leaving the battlefield in favor of helping push the Chiss forward as a leader of the people. Old habits died hard. She glanced casually to her two companions, the doctor Brask'ari'sabosen and her once superior the Admiral Mitth'orn'eruod.

They made a cute pair.

Once they landed planetside Dezoti holstered her blaster and stood, casually smoothing out her dress as she took the lead. As the highest ranking official it only made sense. She gave a brief nod to her companions as she passed by. It was good she had some folks who could help her handle this. Especially [member="Karisa"] , who likely had more experience with politics then Dezoti in her time as a Commando.

As they were greeted by the Manda'lor herself Dezoti kept her head high, stepping right up to her with the faintest smiles. "Manda'lor the Infernal. It is a pleasure to meet you. I am Atristocra Dezoti of House Lore, representing the Chiss people. With me are Admiral Thorne, and Syndic Karisa of House Sabosen. They act as my advisers for this meeting between our two governments."

(Before the CA diplomats arrive)
Diplomacy, ever one of the Mandalorians weaknesses. However, it was a necessary part to get places in the galaxy. That is why Adenn found himself here, in Sundari City, on Mandalore. He had readied himself some time before for the meeting between the Mandalorian Empire (ME) and the Chiss Ascendancy (CA). The newest group to the galactic scale sought a pact of sorts with the ME.

Adenn had snorted at the thought, no doubt they hoped to get more than they received, it was simply the nature of things. However, Adenn had come here to prevent that, and hopefully get more for the ME than they gave. That’s another reason why Adenn was here, to help the ME with negotiations. He was by no means a good negotiator, but he was ok. The events of Anobis proved this to be true.

He was prepared, though the target was different, the concept was the same. Get the best deal for you and yours, while giving the least to them and theirs. Keeping this in mind, Adenn had prepared himself accordingly. The Chiss were to negotiate with Mandalorians, and thus a Mandalorian they would meet. One in full armor, and with weapons at the ready should things go south. While to an outside eye it would seem as if Adenn was armed to the teeth, he only took a small portion of what he normally took to battle. On his person he just had his wrist weapons, westar carbine, the 2 westar 35s, his lightsaber, a beskad and his jetpack. Aside from that, he had brought no other weapons. While he had no weapons, he did have several members of Clan Mortui on stand by nearby. They were waiting for the word, should things go south and a fight ensued, they’d be there in less than mere moments.

Upon being 100% ready, Adenn had made his way towards the negotiation location. Once he arrived, he noted he was not the only one there. Already, two people were there. One was Valdus, and the other the Mandalor. Adenn gave a nod to Valdus, he had helped him on Eshan with his AT-ADS. From what he had heard, they had done well. Then, turning to the Mandalor, Adenn made his way towards her.

Once near the Mandalor, Adenn bowed his head towards her, then gave a salute. His fist clenched and banged against his chest plate above his heart. There was a semi-soft clang to be heard upon the contact. Adenn held the salute for a moment, before dropping his hand to his side. Then he walked up to her side, and once more bowed his head to her.
Mandalor, it is an honor to finally meet you in the flesh. I am glad that it is under good circumstances, too often in the past have my meetings happened poorly thanks to the battlefield. I am Adenn Kyramud, Alor of Clan Mortui. At your service ma’am. I do hope that this meeting will benefit us, more so than it benefits them.

With his part said, Adenn listened to any answer she may give before inclining his head once more and walking towards the shadows. There he waited for the Chiss delegates to arrive.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Adenn did not need to wait long, rather quickly the Chiss delegates arrived on the landing platform. Their arrival was heralded by a call from the Aegis Eternum. The message spoke of a ship that bore Chiss heraldry and was rather big. Just not big enough, it would do for many things, just other things not so much.

The shuttle landed, and then 3 figures came out of the shuttle. Each was interesting, and each was not really well armed, at least not in Adenns eyes. That, along with some other factors, is why Adenn did not step forward from the shadows to speak to them. He let them come forward and speak first; let the weaker ones come to the strongers.

Once the three came forward, and one of them introduced themselves, Adenn appeared from the shadows. He had fully heard what was said, and observed the people and put names to faces. Then he stepped up to them after Mandalore spoke and spoke as well.
Welcome to Mandalore Atristocra, Admiral and Syndic. I am Adenn Kyramud, and I will be negotiating with you, along with whoever else may be there, and of course Mandalor herself. Please follow me, we have refreshments and the like ready for you.

At that, Adenn swept his hand towards the entrance. Inside one could already see a table laden with food and drinks. Adenn walked in first, and pointed towards the delegates seats, saying
Your seats are there. If you have any food requests, I’m sure we could try to get it. Please, sit down, relax. I hope your flight here was enjoyable. Were you able to see some of the sights of Sundari on your way in? If you’d like, I’m sure something could be arranged for you to see some of the landmarks. They are rather beautiful this time of year.

Cassiopeia had spent much of the past night assisting in the preparations for the Chiss delegates to arrive. Decorations had to be replaced, the housekeepers and servants had to be prepared, and a variety of other important things to do. She was sure Ambrose had the Palace locked down – safety was a priority, especially with the important standing their guests had.

Cassiopeia wore a black executive dress suit, hair left down in a professional manner. She likely would not have to do too much speaking, but she was prepared to be in a formal setting. Cassiopeia often represented the 'other' side of Mandalorian life - not the battle-hardy but the science aspect. The university professor arrived later than she expected to Yasha, “Hope I haven’t missed anything,” she whispered as she pushed out some wrinkles in the suit. From outside, she watched as the transport ship landed.

She practiced breathing exercises – mostly to keep her anxiety down. Negotiations were stressful, even if it was just an introduction and the simplicity of ‘let’s not shoot each other.’

Cassiopeia gave a warm smile to the three Chiss. It seemed that Adenn would be taking the lead in the negotiations, perhaps with Yasha. After Yasha and Adenn made their introductions, Cassiopeia would give a respectful nod. “Cassiopeia Australis-Caranthyr, Mandalorian Councilwoman. It’s a pleasure to meet each of you. Welcome to Manda'yaim.” With that, she followed the rest of the group.

[member="Adenn Kyramud"] | [member="Dezoti"] | [member="Karisa"] | [member="Thorne"] | [member="Valdus Bral"] | [member="Yasha Cadera"]

[member="Valdus Bral"]’s hulking form made the negotiations a mite easier than one would expect. The often quiet man was a comfort. [member="Ambrose Cadera"] wandered to stand near Valdus, three of his gurlanin pack in lupine form stretched and padded perpetually around the Infernal, loyal beyond all else.

[member="Adenn Kyramud"] was finally in the Infernal’s presence. It took some length of time for the Infernal to set up a meeting juncture with the Clan Mortui warrior, not out of a slight but schedule. Yasha was perpetually travelling these days, overseeing ecological reform on Contruum, aiding the freed slaves of Er’kit to build their new metropolis, leading raids against pirates, who dared enter her domains. As Kyramud saluted, so did the Infernal, with a nod of her head and the quirking of the baffles on either side of the wolf-helm.

“And an honour to meet you, Alor Kyramud.” Letting loose a chuckle, Yasha grinned under her helm. “I wish only to create a positive association, Chiss and Mandalorian. After all, do we not have mutual… friends?”

That word. It did leave a taste in Yasha’s mouth, which [member="Cassiopeia Australis"] distracted her from.

“You look fine. Stop fussing, they’re here to talk not discuss fashion, Cassicakes.” Yasha leaned down to whisper to her friend, glad for her councilwoman’s attentiveness and scientific attitudes. Balance was a perpetual force in Mandalorian life. One could not have an overabundance of peace or war, before the Mando’ade grew either complacent or restless. Cassiopeia knew this better than most, or so Yasha thought.

The Chiss delegation arrived, [member="Thorne"], [member="Dezoti"] and @Karisa. Each was scanned by Yasha’s helm, which remained fixed on her head in full enclosure. She bowed her head in deference to Dezoti, as one of noble bearing gave deference to one of the same. Digging deep into her academic knowledge, Yasha brought forth a rare skill beaten into her brow by her mother, [member="Aditya Fitz Kierke"], whose shipbuilding concern the Imperial Shipworks used to do the majority of its’ business outside Csillan space, during the rise and subsequent fall of the Atrisian Empire, before Yasha was born. Truth be, several of her mother’s remaining staff aboard the exploratory ship Myrmadinas were of Chiss descent.

“Bun'zan'i ch'at Manda'yaim, k’irtakol bah ch'at Ascendancy. Hah vatvo csact'i since ch'ah used ch'at Cheunh tin'hi, ttis'ah tisbun'ah eo sy’tas’bun’a ch'auh vawscat casisi. Ttis'ah, k'ir vuckust.” (Welcome to Manda'yaim, delegates of the Ascendancy. It was some time since I used the Cheunh tongue, please excuse any syntactical or intoned error. Please, do get comfortable.) The warrior once known as the Hell Wolf nodded her head in a respectful bow, speaking in the Chiss’ own Cheunh language. While her pronunciation was flawed, the Infernal hoped the attempt was a welcome one.

“Ch'eo ticsen'i vcsac’hi bun’vatkust can Chiss rt'isi tur ch'a bisatahn'ho csact’i.” (My mother conducted business in Chiss space for quite some time.) A table well set, laden and prepared with care and attention to those who would be in attendance. “Welcome, Atristocra Dezoti, Admiral Thorne, Syndic Karisa. My compatriots Alor Kyramud and Councilwoman Australis will be my advisors during this event for our peoples. Please, do take whatever seat you like. All are of equal sitting in my Hall, while negotiations take place.”

While her Cheunh accent needed some work, Yasha Cadera’s take on Basic was as thickly accented as one who never left the jungles of Panatha. A gift from her mother tongue. She guided the retinue to the table, and took a seat for herself, knowing well it was best to lead when one was accepting the courtesy of strangers in their own home.

“I trust your travel did you well, Admiral. Syndic. And Atristocra, you must on my behalf thank the Chiss Ascendancy for allowing this meeting between us. Your recent battles around Csilla did not go unnoticed on Mandalore. I trust the reconstruction continues with the usual Chiss efficiency and disciplined verve?” Adenn had a good ear for diplomacy. Now was Yasha’s chance to see what the man did with it, when both partners were unfamiliar one to the other. Trust was not often an easy trait.

Valdus Bral

️ Clan Bral Alor ️| Warlord of Nellogant
Valdus saluted [member="Yasha Cadera"] as she looked over him so did his guard detail, the action caused a unified clash of Beskar on Beskar with a hollow thud, as well as jingling of metal accessories and miscellaneous items when the trio's fists crashed against their breastplates. The action lasted only a second before he and his guard lowered their hands. Valdus stood like a statue, ever watchful over the delegates and his Mand'alor. It was unlikely that he would voice his opinions, which would probably benefit the diplomatic event in general - unlike [member="Adenn Kyramud"] , Valdus was not a malleable personality, the type of personality needed for compromise and politics. The variety within the Mandalorians is what made them strong, diplomats were respected highly by Valdus Bral.

As the Chiss Ascendancy delegates entered Valdus bowed his head a fraction before lifting it, casting a quick flash of gold across the room as his head tilted into the sunlight from the ornate windows. Valdus remained standing while the others began to take their seats wherever they may. It was only several minutes later that a group of Mandalorians brought in a rather large beskar chair that looked more like a very basic and uncomfortable throne. It was his chair from the Bral Clan compound. He was a very large man, especially in his armor, he had requested it be brought to him so that he too could sit and not make too much of a spectacle. Valdus walked slowly towards the least populated section of the table to be out of the way. The group shuffled behind him and carefully set down the throne like high-backed chair with a barely audible clunk - a testament to the strength and discipline of these Mandalorians. Valdus handed off his shield to the nearest Sergeant who held it as Valdus sat down. The motors clicked and whirled as they ratcheted to accommodate the drastic angle of his knees that were now bent due to his sitting. Valdus's knees fanned out as his arms rose to unlatch his airtight helmet, which he set upon the table. He then leaned back, his left arm rested flat across the metal armrest, while the right arm bent at the elbow, fist clenched supporting his cheek that now rested on it. He looked like a pensive and perhaps slightly bored lord of old, though regardless of his extravagant armor and assets he was an Alor , his standing paled in comparison to the wealth of Mandalore and of the Mand'alor. This was not his ideal evening, though he was in the presence of the Mand'alor and had been asked to be here, he would not refuse such a request. As Valdus made himself comfortable his Sergeant rested the shield against the back of his chair as to keep it out of the way. He did not make any attempts at eating or drinking, despite his body posture his eyes were shifting between all in attendance just as they had been previously.

Mitth'orn'eruod remained silent as the initial pleasantries passed between both groups, his hands clasped behind his back, his gaze slowly moving across the individuals around. He had heard that Mandalorian armor was impressive, made of a considerably strong metallic compound, but he hadn't expected such intricate designs. Judging by the armor present, Mitth'orn'eruod assumed that they were highly individualized, representing elements of the one who wore it. The palace also spoke of a highly developed sense of cultural design and history, which the Chiss found in stark contrast to how many believed Mandalorians to be - namely brutal savages. But the surrounding architecture and its intricacies spoke of deeper meaning.

"A pleasure to meet you all," Mitth'orn'eruod said, nodding.

The leader of the people, Mandalore by title, began speaking in Cheunh. It was interesting hearing the words from a non-Chiss, as most humanoid sentients tended to lack the vocal characteristics required for the language. Still, the effort was commendable, if somewhat rough. The following invitations to take seating were welcome, with Mitth'orn'eruod following behind the other delegates, waiting for both Prusde'zoti'lore and Brask'ari'sabosen to seat themselves before doing so.

"The trip was uneventful, Manda'lor," Mitth'orn'eruod commented, when asked about the travel. He offered a smile with the last part. "But unlike some that is how I prefer it. Also, your Cheunh is quite acceptable, given it is incredibly difficult for non-Chiss. Commendable."

Turning toward the other spokesperson for the Mandalorians, Mitth'orn'eruod raised an eyebrow at Adenn Kyramud.

"If you are able, I would request a sample of a local beverage? I would enjoy the chance to try Mandalorian produce..."

Diplomatic Meeting

"A pleasure to meet you indeed," Brask'ari'sabosen offered in perfect Galactic Basic with a respectful cant of her dark head to Mand'alor the Infernal and her fellow dignitaries greeting them. The Doctor was impressed with the ability of the Sole Ruler to speak the Chiss language, though hoped that the other Mandalorians did not attempt the feat as well. It was too easy to infer a wrong message if even a slight intonation was done incorrectly.

"Thank you for your kind hospitality. The Sundari Palace is a place to behold."

The Diplomatic Syndic or more so Ambassador gave Mitth'orn'eruod a subtle nod of thanks as the Admiral allowed her to walk in front of him even though her rank was below his. She followed behind Prusde'zoti'lore into the meeting room where a large table was set up for their diplomatic negotiations. Brask'ari'sabosen then took a seat to the left of the Aristocra from House Lore leaving the chair on the Chiss' right for Mitth'orn'eruod.

Brask'ari'sabosen had not had the liberty at the time during the hurried patient transfer back on the First Order medical frigate to marvel over the Mando Doctor's silver armor worn that day, but now crimson orbs did take the time to peruse over what the hosts were wearing presently. She surmised that much like how the Chiss Ruling Houses had certain colors they wore to represent their families, the Mandalorian clans had something of the same.

"Water will suffice for now, vore," Ari replied politely, using the Mando'a word for thanks in the Mandalorians' native tongue.

Dezoti kept her head high as she was lead to the table with her companions. [member="Thorne"] and [member="Karisa"] already seemed far more comfortable than her when it came to these kinds of meetings. She gave a polite bow of her head to [member="Adenn Kyramud"] as he spoke, but did not respond otherwise. She wasn't here to speak with someone not in charge. Small talk certainly wasn't her strong suit.

[member="Yasha Cadera"] certainly came as a surprise. To think she'd even wear her armor when meeting the leaders of foreign governments. Must be a cultural thing. It was impressive that she could speak the Chiss tongue however, as Thorne had pointed out. She'd have to amend their introductions at a later time. Glancing to the various guards such as [member="Valdus Bral"] however made her feel incredibly naked.

She'd definitely need to get her Commando armor back at some point. Just in case.

"Naturally, Manda'lor. If we Chiss are anything it is resilient. Now that the Jen'ari are gone and the traitorous Aristocra removed, things have finally begun to stabilize." She accepted a cup of caf, idly sipping at it between sentences as she addressed the leader of the Mandalorians.

When [member="Yasha Cadera"] spoke in Chiss, Adenn was suitable impressed. He knew from personal experience how hard it was to learn it. Because he had tried to, and ended up insulting someone when he tried to use it. So, he would not even attempt the language, instead he merely walked around. He chuckled lightly to himself when [member="Valdus Bral"] seat was brought in. It was big, built for a large man. It was around then that [member="Thorne"] spoke and requested a Mandalorian beverage.

When Adenn heard that, he slowly turned towards Thorne with an ear splitting grin on his face. He reached behind himself, and pulled out a bottle of tihaar from the pouch there. He then walked towards the admiral and looked down to him. Then he chuckled before unscrewing the cap to the bottle.
"This my friend, is tihaar. A true Mandalorian drink." he spoke as he poured some a little of it into a glass infront of Thorne. "Note, it is rather strong."

Once the small amount was in the glass, Adenn stopped pouring and screwed the cap back on. He then placed the bottle back in the pouch on his lower back.
"Of course, if you'd like something a little less strong, I have some ne'tra gal as well. It's not as strong, but still very Mandalorian."

Adenn then heard [member="Karisa"] ask for water. He merely inclined his head and beckoned for someone to get that. A moment later, a large glass of water appeared in front of her.
"Gar're olarom(you're welcome)." He said in Mando'a

Adenn then inclined his head to her before walking forward and listening to the others speak. He noted that [member="Dezoti"] didn't speak to him; though, to Adenn, it mattered little.
"That's good." He said instead to her comment about the Chiss stabilizing. "I hope that things have been relatively peaceful for you."

Then, Adenn slowly made his way near the Mandalor while they all spoke. He merely listened. Then he sat down, it was in a seat near [member="Yasha Cadera"]. Adenn didn't remove his helmet, instead turning the T-Visor to gaze at the delegates and to observe them. He would nod when appropriate, but otherwise merely observe. For now, he'd let the Mandalor speak first. He didn't know how she did things, so he'd follow her lead. She was after all the boss.

[member="Valdus Bral"] [member="Cassiopeia Australis"]

Cassiopeia chuckled as [member="Yasha Cadera"] scolded her for her fussing over her executive dress. Really, she should have seen her just mere hours before with the rest of the Palace staff, not even including her dress… They probably hated her. Really, Cassiopeia herself didn’t know how the Hetikles Baatir handled it. She frequently gifted them gifts to make up for her annoying tendency to take over half the kitchen. "I think the Hetikles Baatir may poison me, Yasha. Or, one of the staff," she whispered back with a small chuckle.

Cassiopeia herself was shocked, although her face remained fully neutral except a small smile. She didn’t know Yasha knew Chiss language. To be fair, Cassiopeia knew very little of languages besides basic and Mando'a, mostly due to the simple fact of a lack of time to learn more. Between the University, the Council, and raising Lily. Busy, busy, busy. Nonetheless, Cassiopeia followed behind the group as they made for the table. Cassiopeia slid into the chair with a small glass of water that she sipped on every few minutes.

She gave a nod at [member="Adenn Kyramud"] choice of beverage for @Thorne. "Tihaar is an excellent Mandalorian beverage."

She gave a nod to [member="Dezoti"] – also glad that the Jen’ari were no longer in Chiss space. She wasn’t very fond of the Jen’ari for their meddling in Chiss space to begin with. “I’m glad they are no longer in your rightful territory.” Cassiopeia placed her hands, folded, on top of the table as she crossed her legs. Perhaps they would find some common ground in a similar distaste for some of the galactic powers that be.

[member="Karisa"] | [member="Valdus Bral"]

[member="Valdus Bral"]’s massive bulk required a different seating arrangement, and the act made Yasha smile under her mask.

“I am glad you had no difficulties crossing the open spaces before our borders,” The wolf-helm tilted, woman inside taking a second to relax from her potential faux pas. “My thanks, I regret the accent is terrible. Alor Kyramud's tihaar is of the best quality, you should enjoy it quite well, Admiral @Thorne.”

As a massive nine foot tall bipedal lizard moseyed around the table pouring drinks, Yasha released the mechanism, which unfolded the wolf-helm in feather-like beskar petals around her shoulders. The wolf-standard settled behind her neck, revealing an olive skinned beauty of Epicanthix descent. Black painted lips, and tattoos stroking down from lip to neck and beyond her beskar neckline. Raven hair braided in a crown atop her head. She held up her mug of tihaar, once everyone had something.

“To honest words, death to our enemies and compassion between friends.” Taking a healthy drink of the indecently intoxicating beverage, the Mand’alor listened to those around her, taking the turn for her amber eyes to search theirs in turn.

“Yes, the Jen’ari are a troublesome entity. May their new location be more advantageous to their people than the last. For all involved. During the battle, I realize Csilla took some expanded damage. Has the rebuilding process gone soothly? Do you require further supply of goods or ore?”

Leaning back in her chair, Yasha set her hand on the tabletop.

“Our mutual friends, the Sith Empire speak well of you, and although the Chiss are famous for, as you say resiliency and engineering prowess, it would behoove those whose closest diplomatic ties are to the same Empire to speak amongst themselves and come to mutual agreement. We are, after all, independent entities with our own unique cultures and requirements. Thus, we invited you to my Palace to entreat and expand our knowledge of each other. A potential introduction, if you will.”

Valdus continued to look on as the Chiss delegation made small talk and exchanged pleasantries with [member="Adenn Kyramud"] and the other Mandalorian delegates. Valdus' eyes searched over [member="Dezoti"] for several long seconds before the gaze lazily slid over [member="Thorne"] . This type of verbal testing and preparing the waters was reminiscent of physical battlefields. Sending in commandos to soften enemy strong points or remove weak opposition defenses in order to clear a staging ground before the inevitable offense. So who would start this battle? Would the Mandalorians make demands of the upstart Chiss Ascendacy or would the Chiss Ascendancy prove to be ambitious and forthcoming towards the Clans? Valdus leaned back and as he did so his left hand slipped down to his belt. There was a barely audible snap as the pouch was opened. When his left hand came back up a physical 10 credit chip was placed on his right side. His two Sergeants looked at the chip, then at eachother and then they too repeated the process. One sergeant put their chip on the left and the other sergeant put his chip next to Valdus' . Valdus returned to his previous posture. It would be easy to miss this gesture since he wasn't in the focus of the summit, but if someone were to be looking over at him he'd make no attempt to hide these actions.

"To keeping our people strong and safe." Dezoti added her own addition to the toast, lifting her glass to [member="Yasha Cadera"] with a simple bow of her head. She gave a knowing glance to [member="Valdus Bral"] , offering the briefest of smiles. The Aristocra certainly didn't have the posture of someone who sat behind a pretty desk being pampered. She was a soldier who had seen a decade of war, and carried herself as such.

"Our rebuilding is going well. The most damage was sustained not on Csilla however, but Corpero. The CIS razed our world, killing millions. The Chiss people have little trust for outsiders. Between the One Sith slaughter, the subjugation at the hands of the Jen'ari, and the razing of the CIS it's no surprise. I will not turn down assistance as my people need it, but I expect it will be hard for many to accept it."

MANDALORE SYSTEM

Sundari Palace; Mandalore.
"Tihaar, yes, thank you."

Mitth'orn'eruod nodded to Adenn Kyramud, as he lifted up the glass of tihaar, looking at the clear liquid within the container. The Admiral swirled it, watching the sloshing, before he held it beneath his nose and took a small sniff. It was certainly potent, the alcohol very apparent, with Adenn being quite truthful about the strength of the beverage. Putting the glass to his lips, Mitth'orn'eruod took a small sip. He felt the liquid burning on his tongue and throat, providing quite the sensation from the spirit.

"Do I detect a hint of fruit, Adenn Kyramud? It's a very strong spirit, but I feel there is a flavor hiding behind the alcoholic burn?" Mitth'orn'eruod murmured, as he took another sip. He was quite fond of strong whiskeys and spirits, but even he had to admit that tihaar was intense for a beverage. "Perhaps once discussions have been concluded, we speak could more about the distilling process. I would enjoy the opportunity to know more."

When Cassiopeia Australis-Caranthyr commented on the spirit as a good choice, the Chiss Admiral nodded to her and agreed.

"I quite enjoy it, yes," Mitth'orn'eruod said as he took another sip. "I may have to purchase some tihaar while visiting, to return to the Chiss and offer to friends during social interactions."

When Adenn offered a taste of ne'tra gal, another beverage of Mandalorian creation, Mitth'orn'eruod agreed to try it.

"I would gladly try ne'tra gal. Do you have a preference of the pair, Adenn Kyramud and Councilwoman Australis-Caranthyr?"

Meanwhile Prusde'zoti'lore and Brask'ari'sabosen were engaged in their own conversations, with Mitth'orn'eruod keeping an ear out and taking in what was said. The Manda'lor offered a few words about the tip, which Mitth'orn'eruod appreciated, though he wasn't the primary diplomat on this mission; still, respect and courtesy were passing between all involved, which often led to amicable relations.

"Indeed, Manda'lor, the systems between our areas seemed relatively quiet," Mitth'orn'eruod replied, nodding as he took another sip of tihaar. "In the Unknown Regions that usually means the Chiss are doing an acceptable job of maintaining the area. I would think the Mandalorian fleets perform the same duty. If I might inquire, how disruptive are criminal elements in your space? Do they require a large military response, or do they tend to be minor elements simply requiring patrols?"

It was always interesting to learn the differences between portions of space, especially since the Unknown Regions tended to be a little more unpredictable.

"Our area of space is wrought with all manner of invasive elements, which was reason for the Ascendancy to create the Expansionary Defense Fleet on its inception."

As the topics shifted to the Jen'ari and damage sustained from battle during the process of removing them, Mitth'orn'eruod couldn't help but stay silent. Copero had been decimated by the Confederacy of Independent Systems, to the point of innocent civilians and hospitals being attacked and destroyed by their crazed members. There was a boiling rage within the Admiral at the thought, at how a military group could so blatantly ignore the basic understandings of war. In fact, Mitth'orn'eruod started to wonder how the Mandalorians related to the Confederacy, if they were friendly or allied...

"Unfortunately Copero, where one of our shipyards was destroyed, was attacked by the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Jen'ari occupation, also," Mitth'orn'eruod said in a low tone, his crimson eyes regarding the Mandalorians as he spoke. "Sadly, that engagement resulted in the CIS being indiscriminate about who they killed, murdering countless civilians in Copero City. Holofootage even shows hospitals being destroyed by their members... we are still recovering.

"But on that note, might I ask what your diplomatic status is with the CIS, Manda'lor?"

Mitth'orn'eruod wouldn't hide the fact the CIS were murderous scum. Nor would he gloss over their actions on Copero against innocent Chiss bystanders who disagreed with the Jen'ari occupation. But insofar as this meeting was concerned, the Manda'lor's answer would determine how receptive the Admiral was to positive diplomacy. One had to question allies of murderers and sociopaths, so he hoped the Mandalorian clans were simply neutral...

Cheers to that, Cassiopeia thought with a nod as she sipped some water from her glass in comradery with [member="Yasha Cadera"]’s toast. There were galactic powers out there that would see nothing but the likes of both the Mandalorians and the Chiss squashed and exterminated. It was unfortunate, but true. In times like these, it was always important to find common ground with mutual interests.

Her eyes glanced to [member="Valdus Bral"] who was… Her glance became more of a glare but her lips hid a smile. Patience, oh warrior, patience. Cassiopeia’s attention was brought to [member="Thorne"] next as he spoke of the Mandalorian liquor. He spoke to Adenn first – mentioning a flavor. In truth, Cassiopeia was trying to limit alcoholic beverages for the time being.

Her preference, though? Hm… “Tihaar,” she said firmly with a small nod. “Tihaar gives the kick someone needs. Ne’tra gal is a good second choice, though.” She gave the Chiss a smile, “We would love to discuss the process more with you, when time permits. I’m sure we can arrange some tihaar to go with you back home.”

Cassiopeia tuned into the conversation between [member="Dezoti"] and Yasha. The CIS were… Terrible. She shook her head with disgust at the mention of what they did to Chiss. She couldn’t blame them for being wary of outsiders – Mandalorians had come to a similar feeling. A small gasp escaped Cassiopeia’s mouth at the mention that they even razed hospitals. She knew the Confederates were murderous and bloodthirsty but she had hoped they would have the decency to not destroy the sick and injured. She had read some of the reports through the media, but with official confirmation... In hindsight, she shouldn’t have been so surprised.

Monsters,” she said quietly while she shook her head. If there was one thing Mandalorians have always done, at least under the current reign, was to ensure civilians casualty were minimal at worse and none at best.

Diplomatic Meeting

Brask'ari'sabosen listened thoughtfully to the conversations going around the table as well as took notice with her keen crimson eyes as to where the individuals fit into the puzzle of the Mandalorian delegation hosting this diplomatic meeting between the two galactic factions. There were the standard salutations, the offering of refreshments, and small talk of common ground 'safe' topics to start the dialogue. This is where they were now discussing beverages of a local nature.

The Chiss Doctor turned to her counterpart for these discussions seemingly and spoke to Cassiopeia Australis. "I understand you also produce fine Mandalorian wines from the ash-fertilized earth here. My family home on Sposia has a vineyard. I would like very much to exchange products of our two cultures in good faith," she nodded with a small smile. "Also if time permitting and permission of course, I would like to tour one of your medical facilities. Perhaps we may share and learn from each other how best to treat our sick and injured especially in these times."

From there the topic turned to a more serious topic, one that quite frankly made Brask'ari'sabosen sick to her stomach; the Confederation of Independent Systems and their total disregard for innocent life during the brutal attack on the Copero City Hospital during the Battle of Copero. The Chiss Ascendancy was grateful, well perhaps not the right word when it was all said and done with their final actions noted, for the Confederate's assistance in helping to rid the Chiss world of the Jen'ari and quicken the demise of their tyrannical regime, but it came at a price that was unthinkable, unbelievable, unacceptable.

"Yes. The hospital in Copero City was targeted and completely destroyed by CIS agents. There were injured civilians being treated and refugees alike seeking shelter inside. I dare say there were massive casualties and scores severely burned and maimed in the uncalled for attack. It was not a military installation," she offered matter of fact as an addendum.

This was a subject that hit near and dear to the Battle Surgeon's heart. Those who perpetrated the brazen and horrendous act would be brought to justice swiftly and assuredly. The Chiss would see to that.
