Biography

"Most people will get over most things if they put their mind to it, you just have to give them an interest"

Childhood:
Being born aboard a medical frigate does not seem like the most fun of experiences, but to Pamnis it was. Her parents had been Schieben Hosk, an ex-Jedi Consular, and Elarys Kal a Hapan woman who had abandoned her home-world to live with her husband as soon as she found out she was with child.

Schieben and Elarys were travelling to Corellia, not expecting their baby to come to the world as soon as it did. Pamnis was born a month and a half before her due date, and the closest place to get Elarys the medical attention she needed was a Hospital spaceship they encountered when jumping out of hyperspace. The delivering of the baby presented too many complications and in the end, Elarys birthed her daughter but with the cost of her life. Schieben was left heartbroken and with a newborn child in his care.

He was offered a job aboard the spaceship as a Doctor and medical-assistant given his abilities and his affinity to the Force. He did not have much to offer his little girl besides that so he accepted, and remained aboard the frigate. As she grew up, Pamnis did not have many friends her age, but she was a charming little creature and was content enough to interact with every single being in the spaceship's staff, even the grumpiest of them.

The first years of her life represented an uncommon but simple and happy existence.

Adolescence:
As was bound to happen, fueled by her curiosity, Pamnis grew more and more interested in the subjects that had surrounded her all her life. Her father educated her and, knowing his daughter had also been gifted with a strong connection to the Force, had taught her to use her abilities for the good but had always refused to teach her the more belic aspects of her powers. He had focused his lessons on meditation, sensing and healing and his daughter was happy to learn all he had to teach.

She would pester every doctor aboard the spaceship with her presence, every hour of the day. Even the patients, at least the more frequent ones, came to know her. It was soon noticed that the girl had a talent for medicine and healing, she had an observant eye, a quick mind and a stable hand without mentioning her utter love for the profession. By the age of seventeen, upon the request of a group of Doctors to let Pamnis, her father agreed to allow her to begin her studies at the Medical School aboard the spaceship, to become a part of the Medical Staff herself.

She poured every conscious second of the day into her studies, devouring books, following doctors like a lost pup, even treating the patients who were confident enough to allow her as long as she was under supervision. She matured quite quickly because of this, and she would not have chosen any other way.

Adulthood:
During the last years of her study, between the ages of twenty and twenty-two, Pamnis was already a working member of the Staff, as a medical assistant to the other Doctors. At twenty-two she graduated and became a Doctor herself. She chose not to follow further specialization because she preferred being an all-around good Doctor, and studying by herself the subjects she felt like knowing more specifically.

Her father was very proud of her, and couldn't help but feel saddened when she told him she wanted to leave and start knowing the planets she knew only though stories she heard. She had never left the spaceship, and she felt like it was time to do so. They said their goodbyes, and Pamnis boarded a shuttle, leaving the place that had watched her grow up.

She started traveling from planet to planet, anywhere where she could get short-term jobs or internships at different hospitals thus achieving her two goals: knowing places and practicing her profession.

Psychological Traits

Personality Description:
With a brilliant mind and a strong, passionate personality, Pamnis grew up to become a very independent and free-willed woman. She has always tried to balance herself out, embracing every aspect of her personality whether it is good or bad and work with them as efficiently as possible, always pursuing the best outcome of things. Because of this, she is equally capable of thinking in an objective or subjective manner as needed, to call upon her rational prowess or her big, ferocious heart depending on what she believes is right to do.

From her father she learned that all are dual beings and that there cannot be black without white, or Light without Darkness and that this dichotomy of Forces was both our blessing and our curse. So, she learned not to think in terms of Good and Bad, but rather define by herself what is right and what is wrong, what she wants to partake on and what she will put as out of her boundaries. Pamnis was also gifted with a charisma worthy of praise. She is extremely convincing and most often than not can understand the way in which others think and work with it. As a Doctor, this trait - in addition to her wonderful intuition and analytical abilities -have often gotten her out of complicated situations.

She has a strong sense of loyalty and honor, not to judge others but to herself. Having been raised in a very reduced and protected environment, she learned hard and fast the cruelties of the world and made a point not to trust easily and to not be fooled by appearances. She is an excellent judge of character, but often chooses to keep her personal opinions to herself and share only the most objective parts of her observations.

Being a Doctor, and having been raised among them and their patients, she is virtually invulnerable to some of the most gruesome pictures and will not be scared easily. Though calm, patient and collected most of the time she can become a feisty and angry creature if provoked to it. Getting her really angry is no easy feat to achieve, but let's not talk about getting her to calm down once she is there. She does not forgive easily and never forgets. Her trust is incredibly hard to regain, and often will not be re-obtained in the same state as it was once before.

Pamnis often finds herself conflicted, feeling equally prone to act based solely on rationality as she does to act according to what her instincts and feelings indicate. The very same features that create many of her best traits, are also the biggest dent on her armor. Whenever she is thrown into a situation in which this conflict is brought into light, the doctor faces a hard time not only to make decisions but also to keep her self from deliberately acting on either of the first two strong, contrasting instincts.

Cunning:
Pamnis has a quick, alert mind and a complex way of thinking. She is not easily tricked or lied to and she can, usually, swiftly find ways out of situations thanks to her intelligent and resourceful mind.
Medical Knowledge:
In contact since a very young age with the medical field and starting her studies quite early in life, Pamnis became a full-fledged Doctor. She can give medical-assistance and has specifically practiced to do so even in the most unfavorable of scenarios. This, in addition to her Force-healing abilities, have aided her through life and have allowed her to aid others.
The Force:
Though the training her father was willing to give was limited, Pamnis was taught about the many aspects of the Force and how to delve in it and let it guide her. She was specially trained to sense it, heal with it and let her mind flow through it to achieve greater stability, specially when faced with a conflicting situation. Despite her lack of further knowledge as regards the usage of it, the habits she build thanks to her father's teachings made her very attuned to the flow.
Charisma:
She is a naturally friendly and easily approachable young woman. Pamnis never found it too hard to make friends or generally interact with others. She knows this can be used as a means to achieve her goals or get our of little, every day predicaments even if she doesn't really enjoy using communication in this manner.
Observant:
Her curiousness has led her to capture even the slightest details of the things and people around her, she never misses the details and this aspect of herself has always done her good. Some have said that she reads people rather than listening or seeing them, always looking for and often finding the real or ulterior meaning behind otherwise inconspicuous things.

Physically Weak:​

She might become all aggravated when angry, but Pamnis couldn't fist-fight anyone for her life. She does not have the strength to really hurt someone and truth is, she doesn't know how to throw a punch. Even if she has the will to spare.​

New to the galaxy: ​

She spent the first twenty years of her life without leaving the place in which she was born. And even if aboard the Hospital spaceship she got to know many kinds of beings, heard millions of tales and got in contact with many different cultures, she had never been out in the open before.​

Untrained in the Force: ​

As said before, Schieben was very selective in what he taught to his only child and because of this, Pamnis is only capable of what he taught and the very little aspects she tried to learn by herself.​
