- Can perform basic maintenance and repair tasks on starships.
- Can perform basic slicing tasks.
- Can perform basic janitorial tasks.
- Salvaged and reprogrammed Techno Union Watchman Drone brain.
- Can perform starship diagnostics.
- Can calculate hyperspace jump coordinates, given a couple hours to work.
- Can fit inside a service port in a Mark 32 Solosuit or comparable mini-vehicle after minimal modification.
- Can make your hyperdrive about 10% more efficient, either extending its range (by ~10%) or increasing its speed. For example, a class 4.0 would function as a class 3.5, a class 1.0 would function as a class 0.9, etc. Obviously the returns diminish the faster the drive: a class 0.5 becoming a class 0.45 isn't a significant change — but going from a class 10 to class 9 could save your life in an emergency.
- Can work in extremely enclosed spaces.
- The Watchman Drone brain is a Hegemonic Automaton J2 model, an extremely high-quality brain. PIKAs are smart.
- Can only speak through binary or via a computer system (e.g. a Solosuit's heads-up display).
- Vastly reduced toolkit compared to full-sized astromechs.
- Very slow to calculate hyperspace coordinates compared to a normal navicomputer.
- 10% is a hard cap on the hyperspace-efficiency thing. Push it too hard and the salvaged droid brain a) won't be able to do its job AND b) could start remembering its past life as a Techno Union combat patrol drone. That wouldn't go well for anyone.
PIKAs are friendly, easygoing, chatty little astromechs the size of a liter bottle. Each PIKA is fundamentally just a high-quality previously-owned droid brain in a tiny novelty container. Its core function is astro-navigation improvements: it functions as a low-capacity mini navicomputer. At Juno Sabat's request, Wraghl ran some experiments on pre-owned hyperdrives and figured out how to give the PIKA the ability to enhance hyperdrive efficiency in a small degree.
