Partners Against Crime

Abigail silently leaned against a smooth wall as she waited patiently for her partner to arrive. There had been rumours and hints towards a possible terrorist organisation taking hold nearby, and it was also rumoured to be growing in size, so all of these rumours gave more than enough reason to investigate.

The Republic couldn't afford to be fighting on yet another front, so it was important that this possible threat would be confirmed and investigated. This was the reason both she and her partner had set out to take care of this organisation. They wouldn't be doing anything drastic, but they would be playing the important part of scouts, infiltrating and scanning the threat, seeing what they were up againsts.

Her thoughts really should have been focused on the mission lying ahead of her, but they weren't. Not at all. Her thoughts were with her partner, who was undoubtedly arriving soon. She knew who would be joining her, and she also knew of some... interests surrounding her mother and the one that would be accompanying Abigail today.

She pondered what kind of man he would be, both when thing were calm and during action, as she had heard the man was a sort of specialised soldier, much like herself. Abigail sighed from under her cloak as she waited, curious to see what this man would be like. Would he be nice? Indifferent? Or would he be more reminiscent of her instructors? She didn't know. Yet. She would know soon. There wasn't any reason to linger with this thought, the man would be here soon.

Under her cloak she wore a bit less restrictive clothing, dark and relatively fitting, enabling her to freely move without any hindrance. She would have to ditch her cloak for that though, but for now she would keep it on. She didn't like the idea of people staring at her face when she was waiting.

It made her nervous.

Noah popped the joints of his neck and his shoulders as he stepped of off his shuttle. Taking a quick look around Noah's eyes began to scan his surroundings taking in every detail and ever minute piece of information that could help him. When he was younger he had done this consciously but now that he was older it was almost akin to muscle memory for him to do this, he even did it when he should be in a relatively comfortable situation.

Finding a secluded spot Noah dropped his duffel bag and made sure that nobody was looking. Once he was sure Noah looked down to check his gear. His armor was secure on his body with his helmet attached to his belt, his cloak was currently pulled over his armor with the hood pulled up to conceal his identity, his sidearms were secured in two holsters with one on his thigh and the other on his chest and finally his Honor Blade was attached to the small of his back and secure in its sheath.

Upon making sure his gear was secure and ready Noah picked his bag back up and began his walk towards where he'd be meeting his partner. His thoughts now drifted to his partner as well. He had read her dossier of course, being head of SOCOM tended to give one access to more intel than your average general, but he had also received some more useful info from Alex. He stored all of that information away for later as he finally saw his partner.

Noah chuckled when he saw her as well. To the untrained eye and even the trained eye it would seem like Abby was just standing there but to Noah's eye she was nervous. "Relax kid. You tighten your posture anymore and you pop a blood vessel." Noah's voice was obviously joking to try and calm her down from either meeting Noah or being on this mission.

Abigail's eyes flickered and shone a bright blue as she scanned the surroundings, seeing her partner arrive long before he came near her. If there was anything she was good at, it was seeing things she shouldn't be able to see.

When Noah spoke to her a smile appeared on her face as her eyes dimmed and turned back into their normal brown colour, and as her vision returned to where she was physically standing, she heard the Noah's greeting. It was a nice way of starting things off, as the subtle joke alone already created a more relaxed atmosphere around the two, causing Abigail to feel a bit more relaxed when the man had spoken.

"Is it that bad?", she simply chuckled in response before she had even turned to look at the man. When she had, she gave him a small nod with a smile.

"It's good to finally see and meet you," Abigail said before she momentarily fell silent as she debated how she should address the man in front of her,"... sir."

The hesitation could probably be heard in her voice, especially by someone like Noah. Abigail hoped the man wouldn't take offense in it, but Abigail genuine didn't know whether to call him sir or just by his name. He was a high ranking general after all, if she wasn't mistaken. Then again, Abigail much preferred to just call people by their normal names, as it created a nicer and friendlier atmosphere, but some people really valued their titles. Noah would probably correct her about how she should call him anyway, so she would just wait and listen to Noah. She had heard a few things here and there about the man she would be executing the mission with, but the only way you could truly get to know someone was in person.

"And hey", she said as she shrugged with a smile", being a little bit nervous only helps you work better, right?"

Abigail conveniently left out the reason why she was nervous, hoping Noah would assume it to be the mission. Sure, the mission was something she was a slight bit nervous about too, but it was mainly her meeting and impression with Noah that she was nervous about.

One didn't have to be a Jedi or a Sith or even a force user to pick up on nerves and the hesitation that radiate off of Abby. Noah knew that it wasn't from the mission though, he had read enough of her service record and psychological profile to know that things like this were routine for her. Maybe it was something else? Him? Noah was aware of the effect he had others, from the rumors he had been told he was a veritable legend within both the military and the Office of Military Intelligence.

"I can notice it but I've been trained to notice things like that so your standard passerby probably would overlook." Noah chuckled when Abby called him sir. "Just call me Noah or Corek kid. I don't even let my own troops call me sir or salute me." After saying this Noah reached into his duffel bag and pulled out a pouch. "Here a little per diem for you. There should be about fifteen thousand credits in there. I've got the same amount in another pouch. Use em for anything you need, food, drink, equipment or honestly anything else."

Zipping the duffel back closed Noah shouldered it and began to walk, motioning for her to follow. "I pre-booked us a hotel room a few nights ago so we'll be staying there. I've also got all the gear we'll need right here." Noah patted the duffel as he said this and took a turn. "There are two types of nerves when it comes to an op. Nerves can either make you hyper focused or cloud your judgement. Though of course being hyper focused also isn't a good either sometimes. You can be so focused you run right into your target. Enough philosophical waxing though. Tell me about yourself kid."

"Good," Abigail chuckled in response," for a moment you had me thinking the entire world could see me behave nervously."

She then raised a brow as Noah told her he didn't even allow his own soldiers to call him sir or salute him. It seemed he didn't just not care about it, he was even against being called sir. Abby had to admit, she was glad Noah didn't care about it, as it made this all a bit more comfortable in her mind.

She then accepted the pouch Noah handed to her with a surprised expression on her face. "Oh- okay, thank you", she replied as she listened to the man in front of her. She had just been handed quite an amount of credits, and it took her a few seconds because of it to notice Noah had motioned for her to follow him.

After having caught up with him, she listened to him speak and looked at the duffel bag he carried. "You're really well prepared", she simply replied.

"Tell someone about myself?", she responded. What would she say? What was she supposed to say? She knew this man was familiar with Alex, so he probably knew a few things about Abigail already, but maybe he wanted to know about what kind of training she had had? Or perhaps he was asking for her hobbies? Did he know Alexandra was her mother? Not many knew, that was for sure, as they had decided to keep it a secret for a while. Although now that she thought about it, she could name a considerable amount of people who knew by now, so Noah would probably know too. It wasn't really a secret anymore by now, although Abigail sometimes still felt it was.

Or perhaps she was totally overthinking all of this. She took a small breath and forced herself to think logically. What was the matter with her today?

"Well, my name's Abigail, and I'm Alexandra Feanor's student. Know how to shoot blasters and use spears. I was trained to become a special soldier since I was little, but I eventually got assigned to another program because of my... connection to the Force. I was then sent out into the world and became master Feanor's student sometime later."

"But, with all respect, with the kind of work you do, I expect you knew most if not all of that already", she said as she grinned towards Noah from under her hood. Somewhere she found it a bit rude to still be wearing her hood, but after a few recent events she preferred staying incognito whenever possible. She would show her face when they were in more private locations. "I, however know not much, except a few rumours, about the 'big boss'. So I told you a little bit about me, now it's your turn, Noah", she said cheerfully, interested in getting to know the man.

Noah chuckled when Abigail asked him to tell her about himself. What did she wanna hear? His life before the military? His time as a Commando in the Galactic Republic? His days as a contractor with the Omega Pyre? The time he spent in the Special Forces for the Alliance? His recent activity as a commander in the Rebel Alliance? His rise to head of Special Operations Command? Well she'd get it all because he didn't know what she wanted.

"Well I was born and raised on the mid-levels of Coruscant. Dad was Morelliana and worked as a soldier in the Republic. Mom was Mandalorian and worked as a bounty hunter. Needless to say home life was interesting. I was raised Mandalorian since my mother was a strong woman and refused to lose her family heritage, she was so insistent on it that my first language was Mando'ade instead of Basic. At the age of fourteen I was enrolled in the Coruscant Youth Military Academy, it was a academy to train young Republic citizens who want to be in the military. I graduated and was commissioned into the Republic Army as a Second Lieutenant."

Once Noah finished the first part of his story they finally arrived at the hotel that they would be staying in. After a quick check-in and conversation with the desk manager Noah and Abby were given the room passcards. Motioning for Abby to follow Noah decided to take the elevator. Once on the elevator Noah hit the button for the sixth floor and leaned back to wait.

"Now where was I? Ah yes I remember. After I commissioned I spent a few months in a training unit before I went to Commando School. Spent about a year there and was assigned to the 10th Commando Group, 3rd Regiment, 5th Battalion. I spent fifteen years in the Army Commandos before being discharged. From there I was approached by a recruiter from the Omega Pyre and signed on with them. Spent seven years in the Pyre and honestly found some of the best friends you can imagine and felt more at home there then in the Republic. When the Protectorate and by extension the Pyre collapsed and the Alliance took its place I joined up with the Alliance and their Special Forces."

The elevator dinged and Noah popped his joints before pushing himself off the wall and making towards their room. Once he got to their room and opened the door Noah whistled and took a good look at it. "I see for once that Procurement decided to splurge and not get a ratty room." Walking into the he threw his duffel on the bed before moving towards the rooms table. Pulling out a chair he sat down and returned to his story.

"Served in the Alliance Special Forces for three years before I decided that the galaxy was in good hands and decided to take a bit of a retirement. Spent a couple of years in the Alliance's Reserves before they fell. After that I spent a year in the Rebel Alliance as a commander and then when the Rebel Alliance merged with the New Republic I decided to sign on as well. I started out just offering my advice for training but then I was asked to head up Special Operations Command and as they say the rest is history. Any questions?" Noah finished off his story with a question and a bit of sarcasm.
