Planet Stobar, Expansion Region

From a vantage point of an abandoned hotel on the eastern side Minerva observed via holobinoculars a series of warehouses adjacent to the city's main spaceport. Through them she noted the numerous droid laborers ever busy with their work as programmed accordingly. But there were armed thugs on patrol all over the place in pairs or teams of five. She scoffed at the sight but it was hardly surprising. Stobar by definition was often a lawless world throughout its history.

The real semblance of authority currently was a cabal of gangs that were supported by a few off-world corporations in exchange for doing business here. Shaking her head she focused back on surveillance. Quickly though, Irni, her top sniper, called in from the comms.

"A shuttle coming in from the north. It's their boss Kali Bak. Sumi made confirmation from the ship's transmission to the facility."

Finally after long hours Minerva smiled at the news. Sure enough a blue shuttle descended the central landing pad.

"Good. Any sight of his honored guests?"

"Negative boss, we still haven't picked up any chatter from the Galactic Liberation Front nor it's leader Tenar Yiu."

The armored captain sighed. She hated to spend another night here but they must keep it up.

Tenar escaped custody on Fondor and threatened to continue his campaign to topple the Alliance. But SIA has recently picked up evidence he is about to make a new deal with Kali's gang for armaments. Though it sounds like the Devaronion boss is planning to sell out Tenar to us a week from now. All the same he has already supplied Yiu's cell with a bomb that killed dozens of people in Ghorman's capital last year. That can't go unanswered.

Sighing again Minerva lowered the holobinoculars and went over to sit in a nearby chair. Subsequently she messaged all squad leaders.

"Keep me posted."

Then she removed her helmet and rubbed the back of her head, taking a moment to rest.

If it takes another hour or day we've get them.

"For shab's sake, what the haran is the delay? The shabuire has gone and lost our supplies, I just know it," cursed Mirta Kyrr, Shereshoy Mechanized Infantry Battalion's CO. Mirta was rightfully frustrated. The company owned a few hangars on planet, using them to deploy supplies prior to a unit's resupply on the planet. Only problem was the port authorities were claiming there was an irregularity with the paperwork and that they were working to resolve it.

If the resupply was a little more than a top up, he'd have had another unit follow this up, they had an upcoming deployment that they should have ideally been already shipped out for. Still, they had time, but it certainly wasn't on their side if they intended to make good on their intelligence tip off.

"Maybe we should have taken the time to do an orbital transfer," suggested Aamer, Kad b' Marev Tank Battalion's CO from atop the empty heavy repeating ripper ammunition crate he was seated on.

"We're paying good money to use this cargo facility, alor wants it used. Especially if that means the transport convoys don't have to wait on our account," he sighed. The company had made the arrangement with the previous planetary authority and had continued the payments under the agreement with the new goverment that the arrangement would honored, if the group of chaav'la di'kute could eve be called that. Aamer was right, though. An orbital transfer would be faster to execute, but facts were that the convoys had delivery schedules to keep and could ill afford to wait for them and then be delayed further by waiting for the admittedly short time it took for the transfer.

"So we're just going to sit here on our shebse?" half accused Mirta, no doubt staring daggers at them from behind her buy'ce.

"Shab no," he said. "I'll take Jintar, Ghes and Jor and go find out what's keeping the cargo. You two hold down the fort." The three men took their cues and stepped away from his command tank and the recon speeder that they were perched on respectively. Jintar and Ghes checked their repeating ripper and ripper rifle respectively while Jor's verpine shatter sniper rifle hummed to life as he slotted in a new power cell.

"So you get to go crack skulls while we sit on our shebse?" asked Mirta incredulously, much to the collective amusement and barely concerned chuckles of all present.

"Benefits and burdens of command, vod," he said, half turned in Mirta and Aamer's direction, a smug look plastered on his face. With that, the four heavily armed Mandalorian shock troops went looking for any semblance of just who the haran was in charge at this miserable space port.
