OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: A "perfectly legal" recreational substance created using Sith Alchemy, because everything doesn't have to be lethal.
  • Image Source: Drug of Hope by Nadia Dibaj
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Primary Source: Sith Alchemy, the Primyn Group
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Name: Passion's Embrace
  • Manufacturer: Adrian Vandiir | Any reasonably competent Alchemist with the recipe.
  • Affiliation: The Sith Order | Closed-Market
  • Modularity: Limited; recipe can be modified by a suitably skilled Alchemist.
  • Production: Minor
  • Material: Alchemical substances, distilled emotions.
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
  • Classification: Alchemical Drug
  • Method of Consumption: Orally or Injected; strength of the experience depends on the dose.
  • Average Life: The length of the experience depends on the dose, usually a few hours for recreational doses. With enough effort from the Alchemist it can be made to last far longer, albeit at heightened risk of side effects - it should be noted, however, that the substance is fairly easy to flush from one's system with Detoxify Poison or equivalent medical products; Sith Poison it is not.
  • Nutritional Value/Allergies/Side Effects/ Purpose: Passion's Embrace is neither chemically addictive nor liable to provoke allergic reactions, though beings strongly attuned to the Light Side might find its use disconcerting. Through its use, one can feel what others have felt, or rather whatever sharpened or refined experience the Alchemist derived from the Source's own experience. Safe enough in moderation, excessive use risks the user "losing themselves" in the experiences of others and is often marked by their eyes turning a sickly yellow, a surefire sign to see a doctor, or better yet a Force Healer.
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • N/A
STRENGTHS
  • Bottled Emotion: Passion's Embrace allows one to literally chug pleasure, take a sip from joy, inject oneself with the pain of losing a close friend, and enjoy and/or be horrified by stranger things yet, the only limits being the Alchemist's imagination and the available Sources.
WEAKNESSES
  • Who We Are: Safe enough in controlled doses, excessive use can, over time, make users "lose themselves" in the experiences of others - their feelings, thoughts, and very sense of self slowly subsumed by the plethora of passions on which they have feasted - eyes turning a sickly yellow is often a warning sign.
DESCRIPTION
One of the most harmless "innovations" to have emerged from Adrian Vandiir's labs, Passion's Embrace came about as a byproduct of research into the extraction and storage of knowledge in its "purest form". In the absence of true success, the substance served as an excellent consolation prize, honed and refined by the eccentric Alchemist until he had created the recipe for what was, as far as he knew, the first purely recreational drug created from the Dark Side of the Force.

The creation of Passion's Embrace is a fairly simple three-step process which is easily upscaled to create numerous doses at once, though the need for Alchemical expertise makes mass-production decidedly unfeasible - unless, of course, the Sith Order was to cease its constant expansionism in order to fully dedicate itself to becoming the galaxy's leading drug cartel.

The following can be considered a rough sketch of the recipe:
  1. Distil a "base solvent" using a series of relatively easy to procure substances. Feel free to experiment.
  2. Find a Source - using yourself is fine, it's harmless! - and imprint the relevant emotion or sensory state upon the base solvent.
  3. Refine or sharpen the experience - most of the time one should simply isolate a specific emotion or experience and get rid of everything else; "Joy" is very different from "Joy tinged with heartbreak because you miss your ex-girlfriend", after all!
