STRENGTHS
- A Versatile Kit: With a solid array of gadgets at its disposal, the PC-1 is a versatile piece of kit which provides a great deal of protection against conventional forms of damage such as blaster and kinetic which may assail them in the course of warfare.
- Keeping Them In: The painkiller inhalant and bio-restorative underlay provide the PC-1’s wearer a competitive edge against enemies in the field, and allow for units to maintain an above par resilience.
- Sliced And Diced: Lightsabers are the bane of this armours existence, and there is very little protecting the wearer from the hot blade of plasma.
- Disguise: Due to the crude lack of electronic lock, the PC-1 is in fact the perfect tool for an infiltrator to slip through defences and into the bulwarks of Prefsbelt Command facilities.
- It’s Black: Alright, cool, shadows are covered. But what else? How does one fit in? You really can’t. Unless there is some preparation for an operation, most soldiers are stuck wearing crisp black and grey.
The PC-1 Auxiliary Armour was designed initially as a stop gap and has since become a permanent measure for the Prefsbelt Auxiliaries. With not enough quality armour circulating from depleted sources, the Prefsbelt Command decided to commission the PC-1 and later expand its production. As a result, the armour has become synonymous with Nova Avalonia and its security forces. Although most soldiers when patrolling the streets abscond with the gas mask and helm, typically replacing them with a cap or dress beret.
The armour has been aptly described both by critics and Auxiliaries themselves as an armour a step down from the typical protections of Stormtrooper wear. Its electronic systems are not as sophisticated as most armours, but it makes up for it in physical build. It can pretty well withstand most sustained blaster and kinetic assaults, only really lacking any resistance to lightsabers. Something some consider an oversight, but given the hope that such armour is deployed in force, not really that big of a deal.
Despite the saber issue, there is some aid given in the way of painkiller based inhalants and a basic bio-restorer which allows for troopers equipped with the gas mask, be able to pump oneself with stimulants enabling wounded soldiers to press forward. Something that propagandists believe will assist in inspiring soldiers in the field.
