SPECIAL FEATURES

[*]Fast Deployment
[*]MT Drop Ships (Only for Active Crew)
Strengths:
  • We Are Legion -
Hidden in the belly of the beast is over a million deactivated droids, each ready for combat the moment they are awakened. From the Southstar's mainline capabilities, to the Droideka's motorized cavalry like support, there is within this ship the capacity to take an entire world should it not be properly defended. With hueristic processors, and weapons capable of decimation, the droids aboard the vessel are no joke, and serve an extreme challenge for anyone who faces them down.

This massive payload is achievable only because the droids are collapsable and require no barracks, messhall, latrines, or various other aspects within the vessel. With everything dedicated to strictly housing this 'sleeping army', room had been opened immensely to keeping every single one open to stuff them. The only other systems required for the survival of the droids was the quick deployment systems towards the middle of the ship.

[*]Minute Rice -
  • The ship is filled with 'assembly lines' of automated machinery that pulls from long storage lines of droids, activates them, and sends them on their way out of the vessel. Although not instant by any means, the ship is capable of deploying half of its payload within 3 hours compared to a number of more humanized models that may take up 6 or 8 to partially deploy. This allows the vessels to come in fast, unload fast, and take off just as fast; able to fill temporary gaps in enemy defenses with an army. It does however take a full 10 hours to deploy the full payload of the ship; something to mind for every instance it is seen.

Weaknesses:
  • Ion Kryptonite-
As it is a ship made entirely of droids and droid accessories, there is absolutely nothing stopping someone from either hacking the system as a whole, or assaulting the system with ionized radiation to cancel out the entire vessel's drop off. Nearly a million droids would be destroyed in a moments notice from even a single strike from a strong enough Ion based capital weapon, and would decimate a planetary assault long before it could even begin. Although shielding helps prevent this, it is falliable and does not sto the fact that this could easily be overcome and destroyed with little more than the pull of a trigger.

[*]Pacifist? -
  • To make up for the vessel's aggrandized cargo, all secondary systems have been cut out. There are no rooms for living soldiers, no place for secondary measures to be taken into consideration. This ship is singular in purpose, and that is to drop off troops; as such there is also no defensive weapons aboard. The ship has no hanger bay, nor defensive emplacements to allow it to protect itself, and is entirely at the whim of an escort at any given point. Should an escort fail, so too should the ship they were meant to defend.

[*]Focused Design -
  • Because of the way the ship was designed, there is no option for modularity in its production. The ship can hold no different types of battledroids, no different cargo. In this vessel, there is but one layout, and that layout alone allows for it to be capable to do what it does. Unless a complete redesign is taken underway, this vessel will begin and end with its current loadout, from birth to death. When the day comes that its loadout is outdated, then so too shall it be; letting it fall by the wayside as all that had come before.

Description:

As Jaeger Solutions and Aegis Systems continue to expand, so too do they continue to bring new innovations through both of their means. From the many military applications Aegis helped produce through Jaeger’s guidance, the day has come where Aegis offers Jaeger something new and exciting for the world of war. Today, Jaeger solutions releases the astonishing Planetary Assault Vessel known as “Planet Cracker”.

To revolutionize the way a number of factions in the galaxy commit to war, Jaeger has introduced a vessel to completely change the way it is done. With droids capable of learning on the spot, and winning wars on their own, each vessel offers not only a victory, but a chance at a new beginning for the people of the planet you landed on. To say the least, calling them ‘Liberators’ would be nearly as accurate, depending on their moral usage.

On the opposite spectrum, these ships could control an entire planet through immediate campaigns. If there is even a lapse of judgement in the planet’s defenses, and a singular vessel is allowed through, then a planet could be considered compromised almost instantly. In truth, this is the only strength of the vessel, its only true power. Everything else about this is completely negligible, or a weakness.

That is the entirety of this vessel, its ability to hold droids and droids alone; and it does that job well.

This is a fascinating concept, but one that needs some careful review. My immediate concern at the outset is the potential to see a ship like this used in an invasion, deploying ~1 million without the defenders having an adequate way to respond.

Basically my concerns here relate to the number of droids carried and the time it takes to arm them. Addressing either of these would work (a little of both or a lot of one) though I will still need to check with the back on the concept overall.

I'm more than happy to respond, and help alleviate concerns!

So, the concept itself comes from the canon Providence-Class Carrier, the Confederate Navy's capital ship during the clone wars. This ship was able to hold 1.5 Million Deactivated droids, with a large fighter compliment, heavy armaments, and relatively fast hyper drives with nearly the exact same 1000m length. To adapt this to a strict offensive weapon, I removed all weapons, made the defenses relatively minimal, and made it cumbersome. It is a pocket ship meant for taking advantage of the gap, or an already established foothold.

In response to the concerns about defenders being unable to respond, I'll say this much; the ship is not meant to be put into a 'hot drop'. The time it takes to unload the ship is quick with a number of automations to get each unit ready, but the time to fully unload that is exceptional. Should a defender simply artillery strike the area, orbital bombard, or even run few bombing runs, the concentration of units affected would be substantial. While dangerous, its certainly counterable in all regards.

So while the amount carried is canon, and the time required to fully unload operating forces is substantial in the realm of an invasion's timeframe, I'd say they're relatively balanced. However, I'm obviously biased in regards to these; so I'll instead defer to your opinion. Does my explanation help subside some of your concerns?

Yeah, canon can be fairly ridiculous at times, but I can accept the established precedent for the numbers.

It's more the speed that concerns me. Three Hours is fairly feasible to cover in the length of an invasion, depending on how you play it. I would prefer it be increased, but there's several ways to go about it. Perhaps three hours to deploy but longer to activate all the droids, or a shorter period of time to deploy active units but longer overall to deploy the entire complement.

Something like that would be fine.

Perhaps the initial 50% are 'preloaded' and prepped for quick deployment and filling into this 3 hours span, while the secondary half are loaded into the non fast track deployment lines of the ship, and take a longer 6-9 hours for full military deployment?

Would this suffice?

That's still a Sithload of droids ready to go in a comparatively short time, but it works to give people a dedicated weakness to play with. If you haven't already, please update the strengths/weaknesses/description accordingly.

Somewhat related to that, the Aegrus Super Battle Droid's are Minor Production, whereas this ship is Mass Production. While I can accept that production levels vary for droids/vehicles/ships having 100,000 'Minor' droids on a 'Mass' ship does not pan out.

Resolve that and I'll stamp this. It still concerns me but given the nature of invasion judging and all I'm satisfied.

What would you like to see in terms of numbers there? I'm unsure what would be reasonable for 'minor' production in this regard. Twenty five thousand, perhaps?

Also updated the rest of the submission for you.

Sorry for the delays on this ship, had to clarify some things back at the office.

The reduction to 25,000 works fine, and I have no further concerns for this vessel. Thanks for your patience.
