Strengths:
- Fast rate of fire - Due to the wired connection straight to the Droid, this weapon can be fired faster than average, and can put out more shots per per minute than average.
Weaknesses:
- Heavy and bulky - Due to the increased processing power and attachments required to make the wired connection work, this weapon is bulkier and heavier than average blaster rifles.
- Wired connection - Because of the firing mechanism involved with these blaster rifles, they are unable to be used by anyone other than Storm-class Battle Droids.
Description:
The first base weapon designed by Tyran Engineering, produced exclusively for the Storm-Class Battle Droids. These were the first basic weapons and droids that created the foundation of mass production droids for Tyran Engineering.
PD-10 is a simple and basic blaster rifle, that is designed to work exclusively with Tyran Engineering's Droids. Due to the special wired connection that connects the weapon directly to the processors for the Droid, it allows the weapons to fire quicker than average, as the processor can fire the weapon instantly, instead of having to squeeze a trigger. This gives the weapon a super quick response time.
However, because of the wired connection, there were some trade-offs that had to be made to ensure the weapon could achieve it’s required aims of integration into the Droids processor. These came at the cost of weight, bulk, and other uses. To enable the weapon to work as required, additional work had to be done at the grip of the weapon to ensure the connection worked. This also meant there was no alternative firing method for these weapons, which meant they had limited use to Storm-class Battle Droids only.
