Peace for the moment (Imani Ever)

Kiyron rubbed his eyes, yawning, and set his pack down on the chair next to him in the cafe. Real breakfast. That would be so good, compared to the shipboard rations he'd been eating for the past while. Not that the thought of a breakfast was worth the loss of Coruscant, but being reassigned from the Jalor battle group to Carida was the only positive benefit to be found in the entire situation. His unit was on hold as well as he transferred branches as well.

Strange how one thing could change so many. He glanced at the menu. It all looked good, but he could wait a bit to savor the decision. He glanced around to see who else was in the building.

Then she emerged through the entrance to the cafe, she needed to rest from the walking, and "vacationing" that she was supposed to be doing. As much as she was supposed to be enjoying herself she just couldn't, her mind was off thinking about school, work, her brother. She wouldn't have came if he didn't insist that she take a break, little did he really know they wouldn't be able to afford a break, there was just soo many expenses. Her hair bounced upon her shoulders with ever step she took, she placed some papers into her back that was wrapped around her body as she maneuvered through small crowds of people.

She swiped a strand of her hair as she stood at the counter, oh how she recognized with these waitresses and waiters. It wasn't an easy life, and she would know first hand. Hmm she wasn't exactly sure if she was hungry or just wanted something to drink. She picked up and menu, and her expression turned to one of ponder, her lips scrunched up in the manner that would make it visible.

"Hmm, I'm not sure what's good here..."

Kiyron glanced up from his menu as he heard her comment about not knowing what was good, He didn't know either. Never been here before, or on the planet, for that matter. He frowned a moment, but then decided speaking couldn't hurt. Or probably couldn't. "I'm in the same situation. Everything seems good, How am I supposed to choose?"

She squinted her eyes and poked out her bottom lip. Then she heard a voice from behind, which prompted her to quickly turn to view the speaker. As she turned a single strand of her hair worked its way to the center of her face. With a smile, she swiped it back into the fray and looked on to see her acquaintance. She looked him up and down, which she wasn't sure why it wasn't like she would have known him, but even then he seemed the rough, and hardy type. Pretty well built he seemed. She blinked her eyes a couple of times and began to nod slowly in agreement.

"Well its nice to know I'm not alone. Tell you what I'll pick whatever you pick and we can try it together.?" she said in a soft and friendly manner, she figured it they made the wrong decision it would be funny if they were in it together.

Kiyron shrugged, hands out and palm facing upwards , "Sounds good to me." He scanned the menu again and pointed to one of the options, "I'll try this then, please." He wasn't entirely sure what it was, but so be it. Might as well take a leap. After all, it probably wouldn't kill him. Hopefully. After all, if the Sith Empire couldn't, he doubted some food here on Alderaan could. Not that he wanted to really risk it. He turned back to the woman, "I'm Kiyron, by the way. Honored to meet you."

(I apologize for this, I've been searching for this thread)

"I'll have what he's having. Thanks" she said smiling and handing her menu to the server. She turned to her new acquaintance and smiled at him as well. If this food turned out to be yucky, then they would both experience it, but when it came to this she trusted his educated guess. She pushed some loose hair back behind her ear, and nodded her head as part of her welcome.

"Nice to meet you, Im Imani. So are you apart of the military?"

He nodded and leaned back in his seat, watching the crowds flow back and forth,
"I am, yes." He didn't elaborate. Not yet anyways. Not that he didn't want to talk about, he didn't mind it, but he wasn't a fan of it either. It was more where he was. Special Forces. A sniper. More of a killer than most others in the military.

"What brings you here? Live here? Traveling? Don't need to answer if you don't want."

"I'm actually traveling, I'm supposed to be on vacation, which...I don't seem to be enjoying all too much.."

She raised her eyebrows at the fact that he didn't go further into detail, usually those she met that were involved in the military just loved to talk about their accomplishments or tell really good stories. She had ordered her drink first, a coffee, as they spoke she began to put her sugars in and the cream, she liked her coffee sweet, hopefully she grabbed enough of the packs, she would hate to have to grab more and create a even bigger mess.

Kiyron looked at skeptically, noticing the eyebrow. He gave a small smile, "What? I got something in my teeth?" Or was it the lack of detail? What was he supposed to say? He fought for a living, mans was good at it. He nodded as the drink he had ordered arrived. He took a sip. Not bad. "Just not the right vacation destination? Or something else?" He gave a quiet chuckle, "I hope isn't the people you're meeting."

She jerked forward and let out a laugh. "Noo! Your fine, it's just usually those that I meet in the military love to talk about themselves. Your different. Its fine." she said stirring her coffee. It was fine, sometimes she knew, especially in times of war, that it was kind if hard to talk about their line of work. Or atleast she assumed it was. "Oh no, its a ok vacation I guess. It wasn't really my choice, friends and my little brother decided to send me away. They claim I was overworking myself and super stressed and I needed this. I just worry about them back home ya know? I just...can't help it I guess haha. Your fine your fine, I'm actually glad I found someone who doesn't seem like their too good to speak to me."

Kiyron nodded, taking another sip of his drink, with a slight smile. That made sense though. A worrisome thought snuck into his brain though. He hoped the ones who boasted weren't part of his unit. If they were, there were field latrines that needed practiced being dug, laps to run, lectures to sit through. All sorts of interesting things.

He nodded as she spoke. "Ah, that's understandable. Hard to have fun while, worrying about others, especially these days." A frown creased his brow, "Where are you from, if you don't mind me asking? I might be able to get you some information that could ease some of your worry." Or it could increase it. It all depended on which planet.

She nodded with a slight smirk. She couldn't have said it better herself. Though she needed not stress, as it wasn't good for her health. She knew this, but it was hard because it's just what she does! She looked sound at all the other sentiments about, seems like this place got pretty decent customers regularly. She slowly turned her head back around when she heard him begin to talk once more.

"I'm from Coruscant, family is back home, sigh occupation sucks. But we just have to make due." she said nodding her head slowly. She raised her eyebrows waiting for what he would say, she was sure it wasn't gonna be good information but, meh.

Kiyron almost choked on his drink. She was from Coruscant? He gave a slow shake of his head and raised his eyebrows apologetically. "Well, that'll be more difficult, but I do have a few channels to work through, if you want news. Might take some time." He frowned slightly, "How did you get off the planet? Travel between Coruscant and Republic space is essentially zero right now while everyone hunkers down and waits for the next battle to start."

It made sense she was worried though. He would be too. He wasn't sure he could function in that situation, let alone even attempt a vacation. "Are you going to be heading back soon, then?"

He looked up as the food appeared andaused to scrutinize it, not entirely sure what to expect of it, it still willing to try.
