Strengths:
Multi-lingual – Basic, Huttesse, Nemoidian, Ryl
Amazing pilot – While a commando, from a young age, he had a great aptitude for flying, and learned to fly or drive, most types of vehicles. If he doesn't know it, can generally figure it out quicker.
Slicer – Growing up on the streets, he was taken in by a group, that sliced information for selling, he got good at it.
Good combatant - While he wouldn't be called the best, he is a cut above most military members, when it comes to blaster aim, knife fights, and unarmed combat, due to his harsh military and counter intelligence training.
Thief skills – Owing to his street urchin background, if its locked, he can open it, if he needs to blend in he can, if he has to sneak someplace, he can. He isn't the best, but, he is good.
Good with technology – Like with piloting, this is something that seems to be in his blood. He just has a natural affinity for making technology do what he wants it to do, and this opened up a lot of skill sets for him, from explosives to communications.
Neutral:
Believes completely in the goals of the CIS – He has zero doubts the CIS is the best course for the galaxy.
Hero Complex of Vicelord Metus – Metus is his personal hero, and as such, he takes slights to his hero personally.
Unerringly loyal, regardless of the cost – His loyalty can't be bought, sold, or even wavered. It would take something incredibly bad for him to even start questioning it.
Weaknesses:
Overconfident - He believes himself to be amazing, and that he will always get through every situation thrown at him.
Easily distracted - Pretty alien thing walks by, he notices, something shiny glitters in the distance, oh he sees it, favorite show is on the holo in the back, he is watching it. If it can distract him, it usually does for a time.
Secretly Greedy/Power hungry – He believes he is destined for greatness. As such, he believes he deserves fine things, people listening to him, and the like. He is patient for it, but he honestly feels this is going to be his right one day.
Gets bored – Topics that he feels don't have an immediate application in his life, or give immediate stimulation, can't keep his interest for long, as he gets bored with them.
A gambler – He takes risks. He has no interest in living forever, so takes chances. This either with his life, or his money.
Adrenaline Junky – Pei lives for the thrill. Be it sky diving, orbital drops, deep sea excursions, space walks, or anything else extreme, he is down for it and loves it to an almost unnatural degree.
Appearance:
Pei is a well built individual with a lean athletic body. His hair is a deep brown, and long and wild when his helmet is off. While he takes great care in grooming, he doesn't seem to care if his hair is all over the place. The man has large crystal green eyes, piercing and thoughtful. Pei's face has well groomed facial hair. No apparent scars or tattoos, all having been removed to take away identifying marks. Dresses well, but in a nerdy style when outside of his armor.
Biography:
Pei was conceived by the two most unlikely of people. His father was Melida, his mother a Daan, both high bred in their societies. They would sneak out to be together, and in time, she was found to be pregnant. In the chaos of this news, they ran away together. It was said, in the blaster fight, his took on security teams from both sides, to clear the escape route for his child and woman. Of course, they were considered traitors, and could never settle down anywhere, moving constantly. It was in this life, of being hunted, that Pei was born.
He grew up, learning to lie, disguise himself, sneak around, and keep his head down. Sadly, his parents died when he was around eight years old, due to a terrorist attack. He managed to survive, and was taken in by a local gang of street urchins, in the city of Bin. They honed his skills, taught him to slice, steal, pick locks, and fire a blaster.
The boy shone when it came time to steal vehicles, he learned to drive and fly them easily. Getting away with hundreds of speeders, and even a couple shuttles, the boy made a name for himself. However, never once did they hurt anyone, they drew the line somewhere. In his teenage years, the violence began to come to a close, and the hatred while still there, lessened and the people began to work together. This caused a problem for the thieves, without the violence to cover it, they were exposed.
So, he washed his hands of it. If the times changed, so be it. He got a job as a dish washer at a small cafe, that was against droid use. Security of course eyed him carefully, but he stayed clean. Years pass, he barely gets by, but, manages to make friends in the city, and become a normalish member of society. Of course, this wasn't enough for him. He raced swoop bikes on the side, learned to play sabaac, and took many risks.
At the end of his teenage years, a civil unrest broke out, and violence began once more. Fate placed him at an intersection. He could have kept his head down, but instead, he rushed into the scene to save the lives of several civilians and the overwhelmed security forces. While his actions were simply distractions, allowing the security forces to take back the situation, he was held as a hero after the end of the battle.
He was offered a position as a member of the security forces, getting the military training, pilot experience and skills he would need in the years to come. He quickly distinguished himself, raising through the forces ranks. His life seemed good, people no longer judged him for his birth, and instead, he became an example of Melida and Daan co-existing.
However, peace wasn't a true thing. As war broke out in the galaxy, he was one of the many from Melida/Daan to see the writing on the wall. They needed a defense against the chaos, and Pei chose to find that in the Techno Union. His training, and life experiences served him well, as a soldier. However, he never stopped growing, learning and expanding his abilities. The man took up communications, explosives, hacking, fighter piloting, and so much more. This brought him into contact and then joining a commando group inside the Union called the Hussars. They were highly skilled soldiers of the Techno Union, who took on the most impossible, suicidal missions possible in the name of protecting everything they held dear.
Time and again, they pulled off the impossible, and time and time Pei managed to cheat death. Each mission, he learned more, grew more, saw more, did more. The Hussar's grew into a myth, something whispered about by their enemies, and talked about by their allies. This Myth grew, during the invasion of Geonosis. At first it seemed an impossible task, the Alliance fleet above the planet was powerful, and their defenses were second to none. How could the Union ever even land an army there?
The Hussars went armed into three drop pods, and floated in the system for four days, along with various debris until they were within striking distance of three Alliance cruisers. The pods rocketed to life, and slammed into the ships, three of them in each pod, they entered the ships, fighting off the crew, and defenses, till they took the bridge. Locking it down, each one implanted a new program into its system. Slowly the large cruisers turned, and their hyper drives warmed up. Half of them didn't make it, however the other half managed to fight their way to escape pods and launch them to the planet, before the ships jumped into hyperspace....right into the rest of the fleet. This ripped a hole into the defenses of the planet. The pods fell to the planet, and the commandos quickly vacated.
They targeted nearby ground based turbo-laser batteries and shield generators, and ambushed the rescue parties trying to help the survivors and figure out what happened. In the middle of the chaos and this hole formed in the fleet, the Techno Union jumped in and began to batter its way to the planet.
By the time they had gotten there, Pei and the others had managed to create a big enough gap in the shields and lasers for a landing invasion to begin. However, only Three Hussars remained at the end. Nine lives, cost tens of thousands, and allowed a planet to be taken into the fold when it was previously thought impossible.
When Metus rose to power, and created the CIS, Pei was immediately taken in by his words. When the Techno Union became the CIS, Pei Ven, joined up with it, bringing his experience, and ability, and when Metus wanted to create his own elite group of commandos, he never hesitated to sign up, even if it would be his death. Metus was a great man, the CIS a great cause, and he firmly believed it was the path to a peaceful galaxy. No matter the cost. Once he was a thief, a security officer, then a Hussar....Now he was Dauntless, and he would show the galaxy what that meant.
Equipment:
Bryar Pistol: He enjoys the reliability of the weapon in a pinch. Not as powerful as other blasters, but it had a decent effective range, and was highly accurate, with a large shot count.
DLT-20 A Blaster Rifle: Powerful, long range, reliable, this rifle is Pei's go to when the going gets tough and a bit more force or range is needed.
Sd-77 Sonic Pistol: Defense against lightsaber wielders.
Vibro-knife: Never leave home without it.
Flex-5 Detonite tape: A lightweight plastic explosive, it may not have the power of some explosive devices, but its versatility more than makes up for it.
Detonation packs: When a larger boom is needed, to sabotage or blow open a way, this is his go to solution.
Fragmentation Grenades: Lightweight, these small devices may not pack the punch of a thermal detonator, however, for surgical strikes on lightly armored targets, or as a distraction, they worked amazingly.
Basic Medpac: For first aid needs.
Communication Equipment: So he could always be in contact, and help his squad out as a coordinator.
Extra Ammo
Standard Dauntless Combat Armor
Ship: Standard Confederate Class-B Type Shuttle
Relationships:
Darth Metus:
He basically sees the man as a living legend, and a personal hero. If Metus asked it, it would be done without question, regardless of what it was.
Tmoxin: Former Leader
Luna: Commander
