People take days off?

It wasn’t going to take much to give the pair a vacation, but Coren Starchaser really needed to get away from it all. And that was why he had dragged [member="Romi Jade"] to the back end of wild space. Laekia, former world of the Levantine Sanctum. Starchaser had a fun connection to the world. He had helped the Levnatine and Silvers with their Frontiers Corps on this world. Teaching younger Jedi and explorers the finer arts of diving and the like.

Still, launching from his corvette the Auriga, a FarStar style CR90 in the MC15 Niathal-class shuttle known as Blue Diver, the couple were setting out for a few days leave. The remnants of Sentinel Battlegroup were given the week to re-evaluate the men and women who were inside, and Coren had turned over command to Commodore Sykkla to reformat the group into the Roving Line that was going to be following Coren Starchaser into combat.

While Coren was taking the time away from the fleet and the Alliance, Porter, his astromech, was back on the Spear of the Alliance, which was working on understanding operations with a few of the Scythe class cruisers. The Roving Line Audacious was going to be moving to take the shots that were needed deep into the former Alliance turf and towards the Sith Empire.

It was more a matter of setting things up.

But now? Now he and Romi were relaxing. As much as Coren could, at least. Pair of swoops with saddlebags full of at least his sidearm and lightsaber. But for now? It was just a bit of relaxing. “So, ever made it out to Laekia?” He rolled to his side to look at Romi. Had they been going full bore since Coruscant? Near enough.

But he could hear the waves, and the warm breeze was going through the trees. It wasn’t so bad right now.

As much as she was seeing more and more of Coren, really it was less and less. They both were busy individually but Coren held rank outside of his role as a Jedi. She'd practically been traveling with him, working alongside each other during the day, and there to console each other at night. It was the sole reason because she wanted to be near him that she took him up on his offers to travel at his side when she could; If she said no, there's no telling when they'd be un-busy enough to join one another in varying sectors.

She'd been hinting at the fact they he needed a break. Finally, he gave in.

You never know you need rest until you're actually resting. And, she'd been really drained lately...

She was sitting up, glancing over when she noticed him moving. Shaking her head, "No..." Taking in the air, "You know I don't get out much..." She playfully responded before making him her prime target. Running her tongue along her teeth, her lips pursed up to hold back her smile. She fiddled with a necklace sparingly before glancing down at her hands.

Soon her eyes were darting up and bouncing from spot to spot while taking in the scenery; the sun was full, forcing her to mildly squint.

She glanced over at him again, "Are you sure about this?" she questioned, "I don't want to pull you away from your duty..." She felt a little guilty, pouting only slightly before she lowered herself and met him face to face.

She knew he enjoyed what he did, and felt the greatest urge to help those who had been pushed away from everything they knew for quite some time.

Days were long now. Nights were hard. The fact that they were living in the post-Alliance world meant a lot of issues for the Starchaser. But that was one reason that he and Romi had connected. That and everything else. Physicality, mental states, the way they looked at being a Jedi. What other Jedi took a weekend away together to a world that had a number of beaches on the other side of Sith space from where their people were?

Yeah, that was a Starchaser move through and through. “You need to get out more. No use in defending what we can’t enjoy.” Yes, that was against some of Coren’s teachings. He was the one who looked at the Jedi’s role as a wall between the good people in the galaxy and the bad.

But he had been around a few. He knew what he was looking at, what he was defending. And that meant he was also defending those around him. People like Romi. And Coren had to come up with a way to defend everyone. Watch the galaxy, protect everyone. And be the Sentinel the galaxy needed.

“You need a break from the grind, hun.”

He was right. All she could do was smile in return, she often found it hard to hold them back with Coren. "Well...are you going to start taking me out more?" She retorted, but quickly fell into a a cadence of giggles. Though really, what did that even mean? Romi was always the type to devote time to assignments and helping the Praxeum. Really, she found no issue in it.

It was similar with Coren, both them completely into their roles. His devotion was something she found attractive about him, getting to know that side of him more and more as she accompanied him to his various meetings with the higher ups.

"Me?" She popped up, balancing herself on her arm while she looked over at him. "No! You're the one always grinding. I was more worried about you." She responded.

She bit down on her lip. Then, she casually laid her head on his arm. "This is probably too intense for the moment but..."

A beat.

"You're one of the only people I trust." For them so many barriers had been destroyed when they connected, information that would've taken lots of time to discern had flashed before them both in an instant. "I feel safe with you...and not as if I have to constantly be on guard."

Vacation was one of those important things that everyone needed. Something to clear the mind after a conflict, or prevent too much stress after working weeks on end. He laughed, almost. More a quick laugh and he looked at Romi. “I plan to, especially if you don’t mind being seen around with me all that much!” A grin crept across his face. “And I do know its more me.” That was why they were here, at the beach.

A nice relaxing time, a place to sit and think, listen and work through things. Maybe between the pair of them, they could take over the galaxy, and at least he Jedi, if they worked hard enough. But unifying the galaxy was the main focus.

“I know, I do work hard, but someone has to, in order to win the day. We all have to pull our weight, as well as we can.” He smiled at her. “And make sure to take the breaks needed.”

“Not on guard with me? That’s a good sign.” He looked her over. “We make a good team, Romi. And wherever this goes, we need to keep ourselves connected. We will be doing great things.” He grinned.

Well...most of his meetings, she'd been there with him; she supported and learned from him. Since they'd met, she always liked seeing him in action. "Of course I don't mind. I've been at your side this whole time. I don't want to change that..." that latter part of her words simmered out, she spoke them at a much lower tone than previously.

He smiled at her and she returned one, "I know you do. You've done so much already." She giggled, "Hero's deserve their breaks and time alone too. But..." She sat up, "Whatever you decide, I'll be here for you." She bit down on her lips to prevent herself from smiling too much, turning away for only a brief moment before he addressed what she'd said.

Whipping around when he mentioned it was a good thing. She believed that, it was just something about this...that really made her look at things completely different. They worked really well together, and supported one another in their endeavors...it seemed like no time had passed at all but they were already invested in each other; it seemed like it'd been going on for forever. She crept in and proceeded to kiss him; a small peck really.

Pulling away afterward, "Because I thought you'd be too scared to do it yourself..." well...outside the time they'd spent behind closed doors.

"I agree. I don't want to lose this..." she said turning her head again.

In a war, that was where Coren Starchaser was at his best. Somewhere between there or doing. well, anything. He liked to think of himself as a pure Corellian, the type of man who was more useful behind the controls of any machine that could get him moving fast enough to do something stupid. But sometimes, and lately, he needed to lead the charge into freedom. Sometimes he wished, yeah, life to be more simple, but he knew better than that. At the moment it wasn’t going to be clean and simple. Watching her, he grinned. “Well, then we won’t change that!”

“I wouldn’t call it time alone. Just time to relax, and recharge. Realize what we are fighting for.” He looked her over, watching and giving her as much attention as he could. And make it known he was looking at her, not just her body, or mind, but her entire being. “Reassuring that you’re not going to run off.” He winked.

Maybe it was the meld and the situations they had found themselves in, but Romi and Coren had gotten really close really fast. Didn’t hurt that, by Coren’s own estimate, they were both very attractive, and strong with eh Force. Like attracted like, right? When she leaned in to kiss him, he was a bit taken aback by that.

A grin found his face as he reached out, hand in her hair and pulled her in for a second kiss, much more intimately. “Then we won’t lose it. But it is going to be tricky for a while. We do have a war to fight.”

She shied away, letting her smile go lose, playfully rolling her eyes; it was often times her reaction to when he grinned or smiled at her. Though on a more serious note, he was right in how he broke down the personal time in which they'd take for themselves. It was so easy to lose sight of one or the other when you were someone who put your entire being into what you did...

Her gaze sort of strayed back to him, and a slight tilt of her head was enough to show she saw him watching her just then. She wondered what was going through his head...

Coren Starchaser said:
“Reassuring that you’re not going to run off.”
Another smile broke through, "I doubt I'll be running away any time soon." She teased, though she really liked Coren; for her, it was growing constantly. "So..."

Then came the kiss, well his response to hers...

She retreated, flushed.

"Yeah...I know." That was going to put it all to the test wasn't it? She looked off again. "And what're your thoughts on the status of that?"

She just wanted to know where his head was at concerning that.

Having personal time was important. What he wanted to make sure was that the people in the Alliance in Exile were able to relax. Morale was needed on a war front and if they couldn’t do that? Well, it wouldn’t be worth fighting. But a shoreline like this, a partner like her? He had a lot going for him. And that meant he had to keep it.

But it meant separating his war mind from a real mind. He could be a wall, but he didn’t need to be only a wall. He needed to make sure that the galaxy was behind him when the Sith were coming at it. He kissed her and smiled. Looking her over, he was hoping for more, but they weren’t at that point right now.

“Status of the war? We need to reach to our friends, and stick together.” He grinned at her and rubbed her back. “Jedi, Outer Rim, Alliance, and the rest of the light siders…”

She nodded continuously, before feeling his hand at her back which prompted her to smile. "I can get behind that...I'll follow you Star-babe." She went on to start giggling to herself, just at the thought of how she came up with that name...and why the hell it stuck to him so perfectly.

She looked over at him, raising both eyebrows as she took him in. He was really cute. "Lets test the water..."

Of course she hadn't planned on becoming fully submerged, she was too cute for all of that, but she could get half of her body in. She ran some fingers through his hair and then yanked on his hands. "C'moonn!" she pulled him up.

She'd gently tug on him as she forged a path through the sand, holding his hand along the way.

The pilot shook his head and laughed. “Star-Babe? Still not used to that one.” Smirking, he looked at the babe herself on the beach. She was going to be following him? It’ll bring her into a lot of war zones just as often into worlds that no one had set foot on, out in the Outer Rim and Wild Space. Life with a Starchaser was never boring.

“The water is always best, one of the first ways I learned to do zero G back on Corellia.” He laughed and got to his feet when she pulled him up. An arm went around her waist as he steadied himself and her as they looked to the water.

“One day, always thought about getting an island on some little world and retiring.” As long as it had access to a space lane.
