Celeste Chars stalked the backstage area of the Galaxy Arena waiting for a good interview. She had gotten good reviews from the holochannels for her work because she wasn't afraid to get into the dirt and blood of the world that she found was her ticket to a small slice of fame. Celeste wouldn't let a closed male locker room door get in the way of asking the salacious question. The fact that she was easy on the eyes and not scared of the beasts who participated in the fight club scene made her stick out even more.
Otto Benjie had given her an exclusive contract to cover backstage for his company. Celeste's presence might not be causing pay per view rates to soar off the charts, but she was getting his organization some additional notoriety due to some viral situations she had put herself in. Celeste was pretty sure that she caught Otto staring down her shirt, at any exposed skin that her outfit allowed and once or twice even up her skirt. If Otto was a pig it wouldn't surprise Celeste any. At least Otto called her by her name...well that wasn't true. He called her C.C. That was close enough in this environment. Most of the fighters just called her "Hey you", "Girl", "Woman", or other things that Celeste had to censor from the holovids. Of course the fact that she stuck her microphone in the face of losing fighters just as often as winners probably had to do with the treatment she received. It would be worth it when she grabbed onto that one big story that would see her name skyrocket to true reporting fame all over the galaxy.
This was the first time that Celeste had arranged to enter the backstage area before the event had started. The tension was extremely high, but that seemed to be as much about the questions of if the fighters would get paid as it was about whether they would win, lose, be injured or any other outcome of the bouts that were on the card. The subject of her first interview approached. A large beast of a man, that just figured. Otto loved to throw Celeste to the wolves. As "The Butcher" Bao Vley approached for what was bound to be a memorable interview, Celeste noticed a young fighter that she hadn't seen before sitting on a crate muttering about his pay. She felt sorry for him, but there was no time to follow up as the young man was off to the bathroom to change (someplace Celeste wouldn't have minded following) and Bao nearly had the ground shaking as he got close enough for Celeste to start the interview.
"Celeste Chars here backstage with 'The Butcher' Bao Vley," she said raising her microphone to her lips and smiling to look as pretty as possible.
"What do you think about your opponent Butcher? Have any predictions?"
